Chapter 704: Capybara Balancing an Orange
We arrived once more at the open-air bath for the capybaras, located within the cherry blossom forest, just beside the hot spring hotel.
Usually, the capybaras are out serving as diplomatic goodwill ambassadors, but they weren't out today, all of them soaking blissfully in the hot springs!
Behind them was an artificial hill, where several white streams of water continuously poured into the pool, making a "whooshing" sound.
Steam rose in a misty haze, revealing a capybara's black paw resting on the stones at the edge, each finger distinct, facing the visitors, looking exceptionally honest and simple.
Listening to the sound of the water streams entering the pool and feeling the warm hot springs enveloping one's body, constantly massaging it, was far more comfortable than lying on the grass basking in the sun!
Its eyes were squinted to narrow slits, appearing to be soaking in comfort, almost asleep!
Their large nostrils flared rhythmically as their ears occasionally fluttered, slowly enjoying this leisurely moment.
Snow monkeys bathe and groom each other, interacting with one another.
Bathing capybaras seemed quite zen!
They were like retired old gentlemen, quietly unmoving. If undisturbed, they might soak in this way forever.
In the hot spring pool, there were also some small yellow oranges.
These oranges were specifically for bathing, similar to a rose bath. Steeped in hot water, the orange peel released a faint fragrance.
The little oranges floated around the capybaras, shaking gently with the ripples. Their bright orange-yellow color contrasted with the capybaras' brownish-yellow fur, adding a touch of fun and liveliness to the scene.
"Haha, these capybaras are so cute!"
"They're not moving at all, just like meditating monks!"
"It looks so comfortable~ I want to join them for a bath!"
"Just looking at them squinting their eyes feels so comfortable! Truly an imperial level of enjoyment."
"They're so lucky!"
With their honest looks and gentle, well-behaved nature, capybaras were already very popular among tourists.
Bathing in the hot springs with their eyes half-closed was an even more healing and happy sight for visitors!
One of the capybaras had its fur clumped together, wet and dripping, as if it had just had a hot spring bath and stepped out for a break.
Now, it slowly climbed onto a rock, its movements much slower than usual, and gradually returned to the hot spring pool.
With its hefty body entering, the hot water overflowed with a "whoosh."
"Wow!"
"That's too awesome!"
The dual impact on the visual and auditory senses made the tourists exclaim in amazement.
Their ears felt like they had an ASMR experience, engendering a sense of pleasure and satisfaction.
To exaggerate a bit, it felt as though one had become Archimedes discovering the law of buoyancy while taking a bath!
The capybara entered the pool, feeling that just standing was somewhat lacking, and slowly sat down.
In this way, most of its body was enveloped by the warm hot spring, with only the top of its head, eyes, and large nostrils poking out.
Its eyes squinted, hmm, so utterly relaxing!
Another capybara strolled over and entered the hot spring pool, squeezing its companion, and headed directly under a stream of water!
It let the water cascade down its back as if showering under a nozzle!
Flapping its ears and even lowering its head, it lifted a paw to rub its face, washing it.
But it didn't stay under the stream too long and moved back to the middle of the hot spring.
As its head surfaced, it nudged an orange up!
Anzu was enchanted: "Hey, look at the one with the orange on its head!"
Amamiya Kokoro excitedly snapped two photos: "Kawaii! Kawaii ne!"
The capybara with the orange on its head had been curled up, eyes squinted, comfortably soaking in the bath.
Curious as to why everyone suddenly got excited, it lifted its head and looked outside.
No kidding, its eyes suddenly widened, and it perked up a lot, looking quite handsome!
It chewed its mouth a bit, and after a few seconds, it slouched again, retracted its head, and returned to its lazy demeanor.
Whatever was happening, soaking in the hot springs was the top priority.
When it lowered its head, an orange dropped from above.
"Ah~~"
The visitors let out a disappointed sigh in unison, wanting to watch it balance the orange for a bit longer.
Scenes like this were not common!
The capybara, with its paws on the stone, seemed to be a bit dizzy from soaking too long.
It stood up from the hot spring pool and walked outside.
The animal keeper said with a smile, "It looks like the capybara has had a comfortable soak, feel free to give it a gentle touch in an orderly manner!"
Amamiya Kokoro quickly raised her hand, "I want to touch!"
She squatted in front of the capybara and began to stroke it.
Having just come out of the hot spring, it felt rough, wet, and warmly brisk to the touch!
If you sniffed closely, you could smell a faint fresh scent radiating from it, the aroma brought by the orange.
Puff puff puff~ Puff puff puff~
The moment the capybara was touched, it immediately came to a halt.
It closed its eyes and let out a sound similar to a tractor's gentle purring, with a slightly high-pitched tail sound.
It was similar to the purring noise a cat makes when it's enjoying itself.
Amamiya Kokoro scratched its neck again and smiled, "So well-behaved, so cute!"
The capybara rubbed her hand in return, showing friendliness!
Anzu couldn't help but say, "I want to touch it too!"
She squatted next to the capybara, carefully extended her finger to poke it at first, fearing it might bite.
The animal keeper laughed, "No worries, our animal stars are all very gentle! They won't hurt anyone."
Anzu relaxed and stroked the capybara from head to buttocks, smiling and cooing, "Kawaii~~"
Took a photo together with the capybara.
...
After leaving the capybara hot spring, they arrived at the mixed breeding area of the Silly Roe Deer and the sika deer.
This area was also covered with a thick layer of snow.
Upon their arrival, Amamiya Kokoro and her friends saw a few Siberian Roe Deers standing or lying near a small grove not far from the ditch.
A Little Roe Deer was munching away, rummaging through the snow for corn kernels!
The Siberian Roe Deer's head shape was more compact and rounded than that of the sika deer, reducing its elegance and beauty but adding a touch of silly charm.
Atop its head were two big, wind-catching ears, and two fluffy pom-poms adding a resemblance to a giraffe.
The antlers of Siberian Roe Deer are quite short within the deer family, reaching only about 20 centimeters at most, unlike other deer with massive and impressive antlers.
However, it did have very long eyelashes! A few black, curled eyelashes, blinking bright black eyes that, while silly, also exuded an adorable vivacity.
For the Siberian Roe Deer of the northeast, a snowy day actually brought a sense of contentment, and they were very well adapted to it.
"three, two, one, the prettiest flower on the grassland, the fiery red sarilang~"
Some visitors couldn't help but hum the song softly.
Previously, a video of Siberian Roe Deer hopping in the sunset was set to this music, and their hopping matched the song's rhythm so well that the video went viral and spread widely.
Now when people saw Siberian Roe Deer, they were reminded of this song.
Just as watching a groundhog video would bring to mind the shrieking from a spoof video.
