Chapter 36: The True Hungry Wolf Appears
Just as Dong Zhang placed his hands on his waistband, ready to perform a classic taunt, Su Ye entered the room.
"Xiao Ye!"
Mai Shiranui was the first to spot Su Ye, and with the stance of a ninja bee, she directly launched herself into his arms.
Su Ye extended his arms and hugged Mai, feeling her soft and silky figure in his hands...
"Xiao Mai, we have guests."
Although a bit reluctant, Su Ye reminded Mai to step down, as it wouldn't be appropriate to greet guests while holding her.
"Hello, you're looking for me?"
After letting go of Mai, Su Ye approached Terry. From his appearance to his demeanor, this guy was unmistakably Terry Bogard, the older half-brother of Andy Bogard.
Terry was tall and muscular, even compared to Su Ye... Well, Su Ye's character profile set him at 186 cm, slightly taller than Terry's 182 cm.
But Terry was extremely well-built. His strong chest and muscular arms, barely concealed by his sleeveless T-shirt, showcased his power as a true hulk of a man.
This hulk of a man turned around with a serious and determined expression, looking straight at Su Ye.
After a moment, he suddenly said, "Brother, I'm Terry. I've come to find you!"
"Pfft!"
Su Ye nearly spat out a mouthful of soda. Brother? You're calling me brother? With your appearance that looks like a 30-year-old muscleman? I'm only 18, still in high school, bro!
"Are you sure you've got the right person?" Despite knowing the answer, Su Ye asked anyway. "And, how old are you?"
Terry answered confidently, "My godfather gave me your photo and address. There's no mistake! Also, I'm 17, almost an adult!"
As he spoke, he pulled out a photo from his pocket. It was taken during Su Ye's middle school graduation in his home country.
This photo was only available in Su Ye's home, which meant Terry's godfather was none other than his own cheap old man, Old Su?
Damn! Terry, you disaster magnet, you didn't actually turn me into an orphan, did you?
Did Old Su get killed by Geese Howard? Is that why this guy is here to ask for my help in seeking revenge?
Thinking of this, Su Ye quickly pulled out his phone and dialed Old Su's number. Although this was the previous owner of the body's father, Su Ye's subconscious still retained the emotions toward his parents, making it feel no different from calling his own father.
The call was quickly answered by a woman, her voice soft.
"Mom? Where's Dad?" Su Ye's voice trembled slightly, nervous about hearing bad news.
On the other end, there was a loud slap, followed by the woman shouting impatiently.
"Wake up! Your son's calling you, sounds like something's wrong! You're such a heavy sleeper, like a pig, not even aware your son is calling! Hurry up!"
After saying that, there was another loud slap!
Su Ye let out a sigh of relief. From his mom's tone, Old Su seemed fine. That was good—he had been genuinely worried that by activating his system powers in America, it might have somehow harmed his parents back in Dragon Country. He would never accept gaining power at the cost of sacrificing his family.
"Xiao Ye, what's going on? Is it something at school or the dojo? I've got a few business friends over in America. If you can't handle it, I can have them step in to help. Don't rush, take your time."
Su Ye wasn't in a rush anymore. He even had time to mentally roast Old Su.
You're just a small-time factory owner making plastic pellets, not some supplier for high-end electronics. Since when did you have foreign business friends? You sure know how to bluff.
"Ahem, so, what's the deal with Terry?"
"Oh, you mean Xiao De," Old Su's voice wavered slightly on the other end, but it was clear he was relieved.
"Has Xiao De found you yet? Is he at your place or the dojo? At this time, let me think—you should be working at the dojo, right? Then it must be the dojo. I told him to..."
"Hold on, that's not the point," Su Ye interrupted Old Su directly. Can you, a small factory owner, stop acting all bureaucratic and just get to the point?
"Why is he looking for me? And why is he calling me brother? Don't tell me, you went behind Mom's back and had..."
"Shut up! You ungrateful brat! How dare you ruin my reputation? Believe it or not, I'll fly over there right now and beat you until you're an orphan!"
Old Su immediately went on a tirade, while Su Ye rolled his eyes internally.
This constant threat of turning your son into an orphan—can you please reconsider that mindset?
After ranting for a while, Old Su finally said, "Terry is my adopted son..."
Su Ye immediately protested, "A few days ago, I asked you if you had adopted any half-siblings, and you said no!"
"Of course not! He's a younger brother, not an older one. Am I wrong?" Old Su argued righteously.
"Uh..." Su Ye was speechless. Technically, Old Su wasn't wrong. Who would've thought that Terry would end up as Andy's younger brother? Although it was said that in the earliest drafts of Fatal Fury, Andy was originally intended to be the older brother, but that plan never materialized.
According to Old Su's explanation, Terry Bogard was the son of a very close friend of his—practically a brother-in-arms—Jeff Bogard.
Not long ago, Jeff Bogard was murdered. Before his death, he left Old Su's contact information with Terry, who then reached out to him. Old Su had immediately instructed him to find Su Ye.
The situation was pretty similar to the plot of Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. Jeff had been killed by Geese Howard over a secret martial arts manual, and Terry now lived solely for revenge.
The difference was that Su Ye, who played the role of Andy, was no longer Jeff's adopted son but rather the son of his close friend.
"But I've looked into South Town and Geese Howard before and found nothing," Su Ye muttered instinctively.
Terry looked puzzled and said, "South Town? Geese is in North Town!"
Su Ye was instantly speechless.
Not only was Terry designed to be a younger brother, but South Town was also switched to North Town. No wonder I couldn't find any information. System, are you messing with me?!
After internally roasting the system, Su Ye put away his phone and turned to face Terry.
"Alright, Terry, I understand your situation. Don't worry, I'll help you get your revenge. But..."
"A gentleman's revenge can wait ten years!" Terry said firmly, clenching his fists.
"I want to learn martial arts from you, brother. I hope that one day, I'll be able to face Geese on my own!"
Faced with such a sensible Terry, what else could Su Ye say? Of course, he agreed.
"Learning martial arts is no problem. But rest assured, I won't let you face Geese alone. Uncle Jeff was my dad's best friend, so your revenge is my revenge too!"
A hint of awkwardness appeared on Terry's face. "Um, actually, Jeff is my mom."
Jeff? No, it's Jeffe! Old Su's intel was wrong—something's off!
Crack!
Su Ye felt as if a bolt of lightning struck his head. He could sense the overwhelming malice of this world. And...this guy in front of him might actually be his real brother!
Old Su, you're something else!
Fatal Fury? The real "Hungry Wolf" here...could it actually be you, Old Su?!
