I Have a Girlfriend in Marvel

Chapter 11: A Refreshing Shower!

Snake Cannon—that's the name Su Ye put on the registration form. He knew well enough to use an alias when out in the world.

In fact, the name he signed up with for the wrestling ring was Cannon.

However, the host clearly liked to mess with names and, seeing Su Ye with an Iron Man helmet, called him "Ironhead" instead.

Maybe he thought linking it to Iron Man would boost the popularity?

Su Ye didn't know or care—all that was behind him now.

Working until the early hours, Su Ye finally finished his suit and web-shooters, then collapsed on the workbench and fell asleep until his phone's ringing woke him the next morning.

"Hey, Su Ye! Why didn't you come to school? Did you think today was the weekend?"

The call was from Gwen, and as the class's top student, she had a bit of a hall monitor vibe.

Su Ye opened his bleary eyes and replied with a smile, "Thinking about a weekend date with you, I can't help but wish every day were the weekend."

Gwen was a little flustered, and her tone softened.

"I wish the weekend would come sooner too, but it's only Wednesday. You'd better hurry to school, or you might lose credits, which could affect your college applications."

Su Ye looked at his suit and web-shooters on the table, and despite the urge to try them out immediately, he packed them into his backpack.

It was still daytime, and he couldn't just treat everyone like idiots and go parkouring through the city without a mask like Spider-Man.

This world had S.H.I.E.L.D., and they could investigate you to the last detail in minutes.

Even with his face covered, it was safer to start at night. Besides, for him, daytime and nighttime lighting weren't that different.

The school day went smoothly, and his interactions with Gwen were warm and pleasant.

Although they yet to be on an official date, the chemistry between them was unmistakably that of a budding couple.

This led to more affectionate interactions, like brushing shoulders and holding hands.

And, of course, academic discussions.

Gwen was a top student and never conceded to anyone academically, not even Su Ye, an exchange student from the "kingdom of exams."

High school courses here were very different from those in China, and the study methods and approaches were also unique.

Thus, students who excelled in China didn't always maintain that performance here.

However, after discussing with Su Ye, she realized that the tales of Chinese students weren't just stories; their abilities were genuinely impressive.

At least the Su Ye in front of her was just as intelligent and accomplished as she was.

This reassured Gwen. She liked strong guys but didn't want a boyfriend who was all brawn and no brains. Su Ye fit all her requirements, from looks to height.

Su Ye was also happy. Dating a smart girl was easy since he didn't have to endlessly respond to questions like "Does my makeup look good?" or "Is this outfit sexy?" or "Which lipstick shade matches best?"

Su Ye wasn't insensitive to girls or relationships, but he definitely couldn't handle those endless, trivial questions.

Ask him to compare C with B, and he was interested, but rose versus caramel for which looked better? He had no clue.

As for lipstick, he had just one question: Can you eat it?

If you ingest a lot of it, would it be toxic?

In the afternoon during activity class, everyone was in the gym—some chatting, some making out, some playing basketball, and some fighting in a corner.

Su Ye and Gwen sat together in the stands, casually discussing school topics.

This was almost a typical honor student routine, like Sheldon and Leonard bickering in high-level physics terms you couldn't understand.

Thinking of those two, Su Ye suddenly remembered Leonard's girlfriend, Penny.

She had looks that suited Su Ye's taste and, with a striking figure, inspired countless memorable lines from the pervy Howard in Season 1, Episode 1.

"Take a refreshing shower!"

"That woman's... assets could support a family of five, with leftovers to open a creamery!"

Unfortunately, the latter line seems to have been cut, or maybe I got the episode wrong?

If Su Ye could unlock Penny, he wouldn't need to worry about college applications; he could go straight to teaching at a university.

Sheldon's girlfriend, Amy, was a no-go—not just because she didn't match Su Ye's tastes, but also because, despite Sheldon's genius IQ, his emotional intelligence was so low he came off as a nutcase.

In front of Su Ye and Gwen sat a girl with glasses and a bun, crouching on the ground and writing something.

In front of her was a large sheet of paper several meters long, with a small paint bucket nearby.

Su Ye was busy chatting with Gwen and didn't pay much attention to what was happening in front of him.

Until a basketball bounced over and knocked over the girl's paint bucket.

The ball had come from Thompson, and the girl with the bun immediately stood up to protest.

"You did that on purpose, Flash!"

Thompson instinctively wanted to snap back, but just as he was about to, he noticed Su Ye sitting behind the girl.

Su Ye, hearing the commotion, turned to look, a smirk on his face.

In that instant, Thompson's courage disappeared.

Originally, when Su Ye saw the paint bucket spill, he thought it was another chance to act cool—first the classroom, then the cafeteria, and now the basketball court.

Thank you, Thompson. You're providing all the iconic scenes in my short high school life.

Let me say thank you, because you bring warmth to all four seasons...

Thinking of this, a smile even involuntarily spread across his face.

Then, he saw Thompson's smug "Come at me, bro!" face suddenly collapse.

"Sorry, I didn't mean it. I'll be more careful in the future and try not to let the ball hit your area, I promise!"

.

Hearing this, not only did Su Ye feel robbed of his chance to act cool, but every student in the gym thought they were hearing things.

The school bully Thompson, who never apologized and enjoyed bullying, actually backed down?

Is today April Fool's Day?

Or, Flash, have you been kidnapped? If so, blink twice.
