Chapter 7.1
7.1. It’s Tough To Convey Things Only You Understand, Isn’t It?
“Everyone in the village! We’re going to start building buildings from now on! We already have blueprints, so please follow the instructions!”
“Oooh!!!”
The villagers start moving.
Adventurer Raidoc arrives.
“Hey, Leafan. Our job is to escort you up to this point.”
“Oh! Yes, indeed. It was a short time, but thank you very much!”
“No, no. We finished much earlier than planned… Will we get the full payment?”
“Of course. I’ll write it down. By the way, we’d like to ask for additional work.”
“What is it?”
“Yes, we’d like you to inform the Production Guild in the town where Baylelord, the frontier count, resides, that we have arrived at the site.”
“If it’s a town directly under the count, it’s quite a detour.”
“Yes. But in return, we’ll receive the reward faster. Can you do it, please?”
“All right. It might be a three-birds-with-one-stone situation if we find an escort back to our original town. Leave it to us.”
“Then the reward…”
“Well, the thing is, can you give us a bottle of that Stamina Potion as the reward?”
“Huh?”
“Honestly, we’ve been relying on it throughout the journey. Its effectiveness is so potent that it can get us through any crisis.”
Raidoc’s expression was serious.
“Understood. Just one bottle?”
“Yeah. After all, unlike other options, this one is incredibly effective with just a spoonful.”
“Hey, Craft-kun. I hate to interrupt, but there’s a problem.”
“Hmm?”
“To store the potion for a long time, you need a special bottle. Otherwise, it will deteriorate.”
“Oh no. I didn’t think about that.”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
It was Raidoc, not me, who held his head.
Even for adventurers, it’s common sense. Having to carry back the empty potion bottle and not getting a weight reduction is one of the classic adventurer jokes.
I remember not explaining that part.
“Craft, can’t you make special potion bottles?”
“No, there’s no need for that.”
“Why not?”
“This potion, it doesn’t deteriorate.”
“…… What?”
“…… Huh?”
“In fact, after ‘appraising’ it several times over the past few days, I found that detailed information became visible. It seems that this potion takes a thousand years to lose its effect.”
“Huh!?”
“A thousand years!?”
That’s surprising. Even I was surprised.
By the way, if you put it in a special potion bottle, it seems to last for a billion years.
It doesn’t make sense though!
“So, if you keep it in this waterskin, it’s fine.”
“Huh!? Putting a potion in a waterskin!?”
“Craft-kun! Is that true!?”
“If the appraisal is not wrong. By the way, I put the potion in this waterskin three days ago, and there hasn’t been any deterioration at all.”
The appraisal evolved without me realizing it, and I noticed this fact three days ago.
As a test of both appraisal and the potion, I kept the Stamina Potion in the waterskin hanging from my waist without any signs of the rapid quality deterioration that is characteristic of potions.
“Alchemist, that’s amazing…”
“No, no, no! Raidoc-san, Craft-kun’s alchemy is quite strange!”
“Ah, yeah, that’s true.”
“Yeah, yeah!”
I feel like they’re saying something terrible.
“I’m going to make an excuse, but when I had the wizard’s crest, it felt like I was putting all my strength into covering magic power. It’s like forcibly pressing down the lid of a boiling kettle, and I couldn’t do anything else.”
“Um, what do you mean?”
“I can’t express it well. But imagine desperately pressing down the lid of a boiling kettle, and that’s all you can do, and you can’t do anything else?”
“So why didn’t you notice until now?”
I can only smile wryly at Raidoc’s retort.
“There was no point of comparison, right? Even after becoming a new crest, I only understood that it was abnormal.”
“That makes sense.”
While looking dissatisfied, they both nod.
“Leafan. If it’s about the reward, can we hand over the waterskin along with it?”
“Well, honestly, Raidoc and the others seem to benefit too much…”
“The cost is ridiculously cheap, so it doesn’t matter. The finished quality is everything.”
“Well, that’s true, but I don’t feel much about it.”
“Yeah… understood. In return, please inform us quickly.”
“Of course. If you let us have lunch together, our stamina will be full. I’ll contact you by tomorrow.”
“Huh? By tomorrow?”
“Haha! Don’t underestimate the stamina of serious adventurers! Just following the pioneers, if stamina doesn’t run out, we can get there in a day!”
“Reliable. I’ll leave it to you then.”
“Yeah. The deal is settled.”
And so, after having lunch together, Raidoc and the others left with a cloud of dust.
“Fast~!”
“That’s the real deal when they ignore the stamina of active adventurers. So, what will you do now, the new guild leader?”
“Leafan!”
“Haha, just kidding.”
“Well then. I’ll leave the immediate tent setup and unpacking of luggage to a few people.”
“What about you, Leafan?”
“The rest of the people will copy the plan onto the ground and start construction.”
“Got it. I’ll prepare the necessary materials first.”
“Yeah. Please.”
Thanks to the Stamina Potion, with endless energy, the work progresses at an unbelievable speed, far from that of an ordinary person. While I can’t carry wood alone due to increased strength or magic power, I can work continuously without any breaks, giving it my all. The efficiency is abnormal.
The construction of temporary housing is progressing better than expected, and the work that was planned for half a month is completed in just a few days.
Although it’s still at the level of makeshift huts.
“With this, tent life is over.”
“Oh, this is also thanks to Craft-san’s Stamina Potion!”
“Yeah! With this, we can do anything!”
“If you have the necessary wood, please let us know! Since I’m a lumberjack, I can procure as much wood as you need!”
“We hunters will go hunting from tomorrow!”
“I want some furniture.”
“That’s up to Leafan-san, the guild leader of the Production Guild.”
“Yes. Leave it to me.”
And so, the pioneering village rapidly takes shape.
