Chapter 4.2
4.2. A Story That Makes You Want To Rebel Against Annoying People
The journey was walking, so it was very boring.
Though a former magician, I’m an adventurer, even if a bit worn. Long walks don’t bother me.
Perhaps due to Leafan’s dwarf heritage, he didn’t seem too tired.
On the contrary, most settlers seemed exhausted.
With this pace from the first day, the future seems daunting.
Kyle and Myrna, riding the carriage, also looked quite tired.
Well, it’s not a noble carriage, but a freight one.
At night, tents lined the forest. Bonfires tried to ward off nocturnal beasts.
“Hey, Craft. Heard you changed jobs.”
“Yeah, Raidoc. It’s been a while.”
It was the adventurer Raidoc who approached.
A slim swordsman, we had teamed up for a while.
“Well, honestly, you lack adventurer talent…”
“Don’t say that.”
“Sorry. But the Production Guild surprised me.”
“Me too.”
“The pioneer village… entrust the safety of the journey to me.”
“If needed, I’ll support too.”
“Haha. Don’t expect too much. Seems there are reliable escorts.”
Saying that, Raidoc returned to his companions.
He’s quite powerful, with a C-rank adventurer rank.
I haven’t tested it yet, but since acquiring the alchemist’s emblem, my attack spells should be much stronger. I’ll join if necessary.
“Now, the bigger issue is with the ordinary settlers.”
I spoke to Leafan, sharing a meal.
“True. It’s about a month of travel. Walking through forests and plains. The arrival might be delayed by more than double.”
“Yeah. Better late than never, but I learned alchemy, and there’s a stamina potion based on that knowledge.”
“A potion that significantly boosts stamina for a set time.”
“Exactly. It’s made from relatively simple herbs. I’m thinking of making and distributing it to everyone.”
“Sounds like a good idea, but… we’re short on herbs.”
“What? I checked when we loaded, and there was a barrel full of dried herbs.”
“Well, the amount of herbs needed for one stamina potion is supposed to be a bucketful, so it’s not nearly enough.”
“What?”
“What?”
Strange. According to my skill, the required amount should be just a spoonful.
With a barrel of herbs, I could make thousands, if not tens of thousands.
“Anyway, can I try making it?”
“Sure. Herbs are originally for our use.”
“Yeah.”
I took out the herb barrel from the item box.
A spoonful of herbs into the cup of water.
“All right, first time casting the spell, a bit nervous… ‘Alchemy: Stamina Potion’!”
The cup lightly glowed, and the previously clear water now had a slight yellow tint.
“Excuse me for a moment.”
Leafan took the cup, activating the appraisal magic.
Come to think of it, she learned [Appraisal] too.
With so many spells I learned in a short time, I still haven’t fully grasped them.
“What!? What is this!? Can’t be true!!”
“What!? What happened!?”
“Unbelievable!? With those ingredients? And the quality is ‘legendary’!!”
“What?”
I’m a bit confused.
