Chapter 7: Chapter 7
As I start to regain my consciousness, I can tell that I'm laying on the ground. It actually feels pretty comfortable laying here. I feel the warmth of the sun shining on my face. The cool spring breeze, flowing through my hair. As I open my eyes, I am greeted by the clear blue sky. A few clouds scattered around here and there. This is probably the most at peace that I've ever felt in my entire life.
I've just now realized this isn't a place I normally wake up, and that something's wrong. I look around at my surroundings, trying to piece together what exactly happened. I notice that I'm in some kind of ruins, of a church no doubt.
I slowly sit up and try to get my bearings straight. I notice that I'm sitting on a small square patch of grass, big enough to fit my whole body in it. Normally I think there's grass, but now it's replaced with bright blue, pink, yellow, well flowers of every imaginable color. If I remember correctly, those are from Avalon the Everdistant Utopia.
[ Notice, if you would look behind you, you might find a clue on exactly where or what you are. ] The sudden voice frightens me, but I don't outwardly show it for some reason. I look around in my seated position, trying to find where the voice is coming from. "Where are you? I can't see you anywhere."
[ I am Raphael, I was given to you to be your faithful and supportive companion.
Helping you to understand yourself and the world around you. ] Wait, that means that…
"That means that everything that happened with Jesus was not a dream." [ Correct? What you are currently experiencing right now. It is not a dream, since your mind is not currently experiencing what people refer to as REM sleep. ]
I was a little taken aback by Raphael's scientific answer. How could she even know what REM sleep is? "Raphael, how could you even know about that? You were basically born just now."
[ Because of one of my extra skills, All of Creation. I am able to completely comprehend any, non-concealed phenomenon in the world. That my user has personally witnessed. You are also able to use all of my skills as well. ]
Yeah, that's right, that skill was completely broken in Slime Tensei. "But how can that be? I haven't even experienced anything in this life yet." [ Since you still have memories of your previous life, I was able to learn about the concept of the internet and the World Wide Web. And more importantly since you viewed an article on Sleep and Dreams, I am able to understand everything about those phenomena. ] I don't even know what to say to that. I am just going to move on.
"So do you know where we are at Raphael?" I look around in my seated position at the ruins of this church. "I know we are somewhere in the Marvel Universe on earth. But other than that, I don't recognize this place." [ If you were to look behind from where you are seated, like I told you earlier. You will find something that will answer your query. ]
I turn around still seated on the, actually comfortable flowers. Seeing a sign that mentions that in 1191, the bodies of King Arthur and his queen were said to be found near the Lady Chapel. Their remains were later removed in 1278 in the presence of notable figures, including King Edward I and Queen Eleanor, and placed in a black marble tomb. The tomb survived until the dissolution of the abbey in 1539.
"So this is an abbey. Oh, I know where this is! This is Glastonbury Abbey in England. I remember looking up about my King Arthur on the internet and finding out that this is where everybody thinks he or her was buried. Guess they were right." I can't believe I am alive once more. I try to feel the glowing flowers below me. But I realize that my arm is covered in a gauntlet that I am familiar with.
My eyes widen in realization that I am wearing Goddess Rhongomyniad armor. I stood up in shock, remembering that I chose to look like her. I look over my form seeing the regality that I exclude just from the way that I am dressed. But it feels natural to wear this armor. It doesn't feel like it impedes my movements at all. This must be from my memories from Goddess Artoria at work.
I move my gauntleted hand up to my beautiful golden blond hair that feels as soft as silk. My hair seems to be put up into a bun just like Artoria's as well. I also feel the crown sitting atop my head evidence of my royalty. The white cape that I am wearing feels like the softest blanket ever, while the white fluff around the top feels like a cloud when I lay my head on it. "Artoria must have had some of the best seamstresses around to be wearing something this comfortable as well as battle ready. No wonder she wore this all the time."
I look around my grave, (which is probably the most beautiful grave of all time now) for my weapons wondering where they are. "Raphael, do you know where my weapons are? I can't seem to find them." I walk over to look behind the sign to make sure they're not behind it. As I'm walking over I realize I am also walking like a royal would. I guess Goddess Artoria's muscle memories are ingrained inside of me as well.
[ Your weapon's are here around you. They are floating behind you. You are not able to see them since they are both invisible and intangible. This is because Jesus didn't want you walking around with an armory of weapons and armor for everyone to see. You can call for them and they will appear, and when you have no use for them they will dematerialize into a Spirit Form. This can also work for the armor you are wearing as well. ]
"Oh, so I just have to summon my weapons and they will… wait, my armor! Why would I want to dematerialize that, wouldn't I just be naked?!" I look around the abbey to make sure nobody is around. [ Dematerializing your armor would not affect your clothes since they are considered two different types of equipment. ] I stop and think about it for a bit, and that really does make sense. Still not going to take off my armor though.
Now, I just need to think about the weapon I want to appear and it will appear. Let's start out with something I haven't seen in a long time. I hold out my gauntleted hands in front of me as I call for the sword to appear in my grasp. I give a small smile as a very nostalgic feeling flows through me when I see it. "Caliburn, I've missed you." Caliburn radiates a holy glow in my hands, and I can feel it has missed me just as much. The inscription is still the same after all this time. 'Whosoe'er pulleth out this sword of this stone is rightwise king of all England'.
It's like I'm holding a long lost friend. This must also be a feeling of Artoria before she became a goddess. Or am I Artoria now? [ You are the combination of your old self and both the other Artoria's. There memories and feelings will slowly start to merge with yours making you all one person. ] "As long as I still have my memories of my past life, then that's fine."
I take a moment to sit back down on the grave of flowers collecting my thoughts for my new life ahead of me. My hair swaying in the gentle breeze, I hold Caliburn in my lap just relaxing. How long since I have done that.
There is something I must do before I go and get involved with all of the major events coming up, at least I think so. I guess I also need to find out what year it is. But before that, I need to go see Camelot. Where it would be now probably in ruin, I know a part of myself needs to see for herself what became of my kingdom….. Damn that is confusing.
Alright, now I have to find out how to get to south Wales. At least that's where my memories tell me it is. I just have to figure out how to get there. And on the way, find out about all my skills and abilities.
