Ep. 50 Blitz!
I finish carving the sheath and set it aside for now, I put the sword in my lap and enter the inner world. When I look at the sword with inner sight it looks like it is made of mana, there are so many dots of mana that it is hard to separate them. This is definitely going to take awhile, but I don't plan to do this quite the same way as I did Ruby's swords.
I switch my attention to my own core and start chipping away at it, but this time I collect the flakes that come off instead of letting them be absorbed by my body. Once I have what I consider a decent amount I start moving them through my body to the tip of my finger which is resting on the sword's hilt. Pulling the fragments out of my body hurts enough to make me scream but I keep going until all the fragments are in the hilt of the sword.
Core Upgrade Progress: 4%
I get up and stretch before heading back to camp for some food and sleep. As far as I can tell I was working for a couple of days at least. After eating and sleeping I return to the forge room and resume my meditation. I focus again on the sword and start carefully moving the fragments from my core together, then I start moving the dots of mana to the same place one by one.
My hope is to make the sword's core form around the fragments from mine and bind the sword to me, but for all I know this will make it explode. The hours fly by as I move each dot of mana painstakingly to the center of the hilt.

You are experienced at channeling mana.
It feels like days have passed by the time I am moving the final piece of mana to the hilt. When the last piece falls in place there is a flash that blinds my inner sight for a few minutes.
When I can look again, the core of the sword is complete and mana veins have started growing on their own. The core is pure white and pulsing as I look at it, now comes the dangerous part as far as I can tell. I focus on the core and cast a lightning bolt.
MP: 656/716
No explosion, that's a good sign! I take a close look at the core and see just the tiniest flash of yellow. So I cast lightning bolt again and again.

When I check the core again I can see a line of yellow in the white. It is working! I can make it a lightning sword, it seems it is just going to take a lot of lightning bolts for it to work. I cast lightning bolt ten more times.

When I check the core again only about an eighth of it is yellow. I also notice the mana veins now go throughout the entire sword. I start to worry that it might complete enchanting itself before I make it lightning based.
So I start disenchanting things faster and blasting it with bolt after bolt. By the time I work through the remaining armor I have cast another fifty lightning bolts into the core.

You throw a bolt of lightning that does 225 electric damage.
I am amazed that the sword is accepting all this magic damage and hasn't blown up. I am glad, but when I decided to try this I never imagined it would take so many lightning bolts. When I check the core again it seems to be about half yellow.
I look around but I have disenchanted everything that I had piled up from the armory, so I take the greataxe and kite shield off my back and disenchant them as well. That gives me another twenty-five lightning bolts, but even with that the core still isn't complete. So I go into normal meditation and meditate for fourteen hours to refill my mana.
MP: 728/728
That gives me enough mana to cast lightning bolt another eighteen times. If this core doesn't complete soon I may end up evolving lightning bolt next, that is if it is a skill that can evolve. The core still isn't done so again I meditate for fourteen hours and then cast lightning bolt eighteen times.

When I check the core again I am happy to see that it is almost all yellow with just a few spots of white, so I again meditate for fourteen hours to refill my mana and start casting lightning bolts into the core one after another. After the sixth bolt the sword suddenly erupts with lightning crawling up and down the blade.

I pick up Blitz and hold it in both hands, I can feel the tingle of energy just from holding the hilt. I quickly move out into the cave outside the forge room and take a few swings with Blitz. It feels amazing, the balance is perfect and swinging it feels totally natural.
"Now this is a demon killing sword!"
