Ep. 1217 Plots and Plans Part 7
"I will keep that in mind, but I would still prefer to unify the tribes peacefully. Of course, if our army is strong enough it also makes a good threat. By the way, can most of the soldiers gain levels now?"
Leonarr says "Yes, all of our front line fighters can. Their average level is already around ten, with a few getting close to level twenty."
"Excellent! So, most of the army has converted to worship the goddesses?"
Leonarr says "The entire army has and so have most of the outcasts. The core of the army is still the group that you rescued from the mines in the kingdom. They worship you, so of course they also worship who you worship."
"They didn't force anyone to convert, did they?"
Leonarr says "No, they didn't need to. Just seeing them getting stronger was all the argument they needed."
"That makes sense. Well, as long as no one is being forced, then it is a good thing. I guess that means that I should talk to Mason about adding a church here and to Core about adding one in the elven city."
Leonarr says "I don't know anything about that. Did you have any other questions for me? If not, I have a lot of work to do."
"No, that's it. Go ahead and take care of what you need to."
Leonarr stands up, bows to me, and then leaves the room, leaving me alone. I can't think of anything else I need to do here at the moment, so I head to my room. Once there, I make a gate platform to put in the corner of the room and then gate to the castle.
After closing the gate, I leave the castle and go looking for Core, but she isn't in her room. She is probably still wandering around, but I don't feel like searching again. Instead, I head to the palace and use the throne to search the city for her.
Once I locate her, I send her a message asking her to come to the palace. While I am at it, I also locate Athena and ask her to come see me as well. Athena shows up first, so I fill her in on the plan that I discussed with Pol.
Athena is all for the plan since it will give her a way to be useful until I have time to convert her into an airship. When Core shows up, I talk to her about building a church and also ask her to keep an eye out for Mason. Core has no problem with adding a church to the city, so that will be my next task.
Before I do that, I open a soulscape, invite the goddesses, and ask them what kind of church they want. They are more than happy to show me what they want the church to look like. It is a good thing since I have no clue about how to design a building, especially a church.
With that out of the way, I use the throne to check on the city and look for a location for the church. I want to put it on the main square where the tree of life is planted, but that area is full. Meaning that to do what I want I am going to have to move other buildings.
This isn't like a game where I can just move buildings around, I will have to destroy and rebuild them. I know that I can't even think about touching the library, Lin would kill me. That leaves me with very few options since I also can't do anything to the palace.
Well, that's not entirely true, I can make improvements to the palace if I want. Like if I take some of the areas that I consider useless and turn them into offices for government officials. If I do that, then I could remove the government building that is on the main square.
However, if I do that I am going to have to modify the palace's defenses. Turning areas into offices would mean they need to be accessible by more people. After taking another look at the city around the main square, I decide that that is my only option.
Luckily, while it has been repaired, the government building is still unoccupied. So, tearing it down to make room for the church won't cause any issues. To be honest, we don't need a full building for our government, there won't be that many people.
It is mainly going to be the leaders among the elves and the elders of the beasts. Although, I guess we will be adding more people later, for now that is all we need. Once my mind is made up, I send orders to the golems to start tearing down the old building.
While they are starting that, I open up the design function of the palace and input the design the goddesses want. After that, I make the modifications to the palace and its defenses. With all of that programmed in, the golems will be busy for quite a while.
Since I am done with the city, I leave the palace and head to the library to find Lin. Surprisingly she isn't in the library, so I head back to the castle, but she isn't there either. I find out from Jarvis that Bella isn't around either and the kids have gone to the shadow realm.
Since I don't know where Lin is, I head down to my workshop to make some items. I spend a couple of pleasant hours making bags and chests of holding. Once I use up my common materials, I stop and put everything into my pouch.
Normally, that would be a horrible idea, but since I have upgraded my pouch it isn't a problem. Then I leave the castle and take the teleporter in Core's room up to the tower.
Yui says "Welcome back, Ash. Something I can do for you?"
"I wanted to see if Lin was here and also ask about those wagons you gave me before. You had more of them if I remember right."
Yui says "Yes, Lin is here, in the library. Also, yes I have more wagons, I have created some new ones as well."
"That's good. I want some for the military and some for my merchant. How have things been here? Did you start modifying the enchantments yet?"
Yui says "You haven't been gone that long. I am still analyzing the enchantments and making calculations. I have to be sure of all the effects that making changes would have."
"Alright, understood. Sorry, my mind has been all over the place. I don't even know what day it is."
Yui says "I think you need some sleep, Ash. Not even a full day has passed since you were last here."
"Really? Are you sure?"
Yui says "Yes, I am sure."
"Okay, maybe I do need some sleep. I have talked to so many people that it feels like days have passed. I think I will stop by the library first."
Yui says "Alright. Your old room is ready for you."
"Thank you."
I head to the library and easily spot Lin in one of the reading rooms, but she isn't alone. Bella is with her and they seem to be having a good time so I turn around before they spot me. I head to my old room, throw myself onto the bed, and fall asleep almost instantly.
