I Can Fix Her

Chapter 2: Rescuing the Yandere Girl

“…You’re a demon, a demon, you’re a demon!” Upon entering the room, the disheveled girl curled up in the corner, angrily muttering and glaring at Bai Weiran.

Bai Weiran sat on a chair, eating a mouthful of cereal with milk and mumbled to himself.

“Hmm, I didn’t expect cereal in this world to be so delicious. If I could take it back, that would be great. Maybe I can list it as a work benefit… I wonder if that’s possible.”

He quickly ate half of it and then looked at the bowl on the floor in front of the girl, which was still full.

“Aren’t you going to eat?”

The girl glared at him with hatred, and reached out to overturn the bowl of cereal, but as soon as she moved, the cereal floated off the ground and landed on the table beside Bai Weiran.

“If you won’t eat, I will. Food is precious,” Bai Weiran said.

“Perhaps a rich lady like you doesn’t understand this, but don’t worry, I will correct your bad habits later. Rest assured, this is an additional service, no extra charge.”

Qin Ning shrank into the chair, watching Bai Weiran. When she thought about what had happened a few hours ago, tears welled up in her eyes.

Right in front of her, Bai Weiran had pushed her teacher, Lin Luo, down the stairs.

She screamed, her heart shattered, but Bai Weiran caught her and jumped down chasing after the falling chair.

“See, this is the real reaction of a person facing death.”

She watched as the expression of Lin Luo, who had always treated her with indifference and a face full of arrogance, went from terror and tears to distortion. Just as he was about to fall headfirst and hit the ground, the chair abruptly stopped, his pupils dilated, and he fainted.

Qin Ning, seeing this unfamiliar posture, felt like she had been struck on the head.

“Do you understand now?” Bai Weiran held her on the ground, pointing at the man in front of them.

“A person who is truly dying is filled with fear. This person has intact limbs, a functioning brain, and a healthy body. He can still maintain that ‘I want to die, I want to die, but I won’t die’ attitude. That’s what we call ‘chuunibyou’.”

Bai Weiran thought for a moment and corrected himself.

“Chuunibyou with a touch of emo, princely, and romantic syndrome. Sorry, I need to define it carefully, or many cute and well-grounded chuunibyou patients might be unfairly lumped together.”

“People who are truly dying will be calm and straightforward about it. Those who keep saying they want to die but don’t actually do it are the ones who won’t die.”

“A person facing a real life crisis doesn’t have time to cry for you,” he said in a calm tone.

“Because they don’t even have the time and energy to cry. Instead of crying, it’s better to make money. It’s better to use the thing on your head called a brain to come up with solutions. Crying and complaining are for those whose lives aren’t in urgent crisis and have enough emotions to spare.”

At that time, she had despaired as her beloved one was on the brink of death, and then she was suddenly saved. Her emotions were like a rollercoaster, with ups and downs, while this person remained calm and talked to her throughout this rollercoaster ride.

She used to fear nothing but her beloved one ignoring her, but now, for the first time, she was afraid of this person with abnormal human-like powers. He was not right.

Bai Weiran finished both bowls of cereal soaked in milk, wiped his mouth with a tissue, and checked the time on his phone.

“I’m leaving,” he said.

Qin Ning raised her head suddenly, a hint of joy shining in her eyes.

Once he left, she could find a way to escape.

Bai Weiran saw through her thoughts.

“You can run, but I advise you not to waste your efforts.”

“This room looks normal, but you won’t be able to leave, I can guarantee that.”

Bai Weiran picked up his phone, opened a pre-written page, glanced at it, and immediately had a new sheet of paper in his hand.

“I have some rules to inform you of to avoid any issues during our time together.”

“This room has a bathroom, a bed, and a desk, providing for all your basic needs. Everything in here is brought by me. You can make requests, and I will evaluate them and may grant them to a certain extent.”

“I will provide three meals a day, and the food will meet the national standards for daily nutritional requirements. You will have no worries about nutrition during your time here. However, if you refuse to eat, I won’t provide you with extra food. I will ensure an adequate supply of mineral water, which is crucial. Please drink enough water daily.”

“I only come here at night, but I will come every day. I will assign you tasks during the day, and I expect you to complete them. In the evenings, I will check your progress. If your results are poor, I will closely monitor your work. If your results are good, I will take you out for a walk, and you will have a chance to leave this room.”

“Mobile phones, computers, and other communication devices are out of the question. You will be cut off from the outside world for a while. You won’t be able to contact your family, friends, or your teacher.”

Upon hearing this, Qin Ning couldn’t help but rebuke him.

“Masked man, are you a crazy kidnapper?”

“It takes one to know one, Miss Qin. Your behavior of tying up your teacher and trying to turn him into a humanoid ‘fleshlight’ doesn’t give you the moral high ground to call me that.”

Qin Ning stood up, her thin-strapped dress slipping down one side, revealing a hint of her alluring beauty. With her messy long hair, innocent yet bewitching posture, and her beautiful black hair and fair skin, she was simply captivating.

Bai Weiran didn’t look away.

“What do you want, money?” Qin Ning asked.

“I’ll give you twice as much as the other party if you let me go back,” she added.

“Otherwise, I won’t let you off.”

To this threat, Bai Weiran’s attitude was as if he had been shouted at by a tiny kitten, nonchalant.

“Your money is of no use to me. Save your breath.”

“What do you want then, me?” Bai Weiran glanced at the girl.

She was very pretty, but unfortunately, they were ultimately from two different worlds.

Besides, he didn’t like yandere types.

He couldn’t voice these reasons, so he replied with a generic answer, “I’m not interested in women.”

Surprisingly, Qin Ning breathed a sigh of relief.

The only man she wants to be touched by is Lin Luo.

“As for this bowl of cereal, consider it a welcome gift and not part of your daily meals. We’re just beginning to get along, so I can’t let you go hungry. I’ve already placed your next three meals in the refrigerator in this room. There’s a microwave here, take them out, heat them up, and eat.”

Bai Weiran checked the time on his phone, and it was past five o’clock. After a tumultuous night, the outside sky was gradually clearing up.

“I’m leaving for now.”

He pushed open the door and left.

Qin Ning watched from behind him and could only see Bai Weiran stepping into a blindingly white world.

××

The door closed behind him, and the mask covering his face vanished in an instant.

His youthful face was passable among ordinary people, but he wouldn’t qualify as a handsome guy without a beauty filter.

His slightly dark eye circles were a result of work fatigue.

His phone, which had transitioned back to the real world, started buzzing like crazy. He picked it up to check.

[Guoguo Wants to Die Today: Weiran, I can’t stand this stupid boss. Let me die. He wants changes again, and again… I can’t take it anymore.]

[Guoguo Wants to Die Today: Only you can persuade him. I don’t want to do it. I’ve promised the original illustrator that I won’t make any more changes. I almost had to beg her to calm down. Now what should I do?! I don’t want to live. Weiran, I really don’t want to live, sob, sob, sob, sob, sob…]

[Guoguo Wants to Die Today: How can you go home? How can you have other things to do? We’re the company’s dogs, and we’re not allowed to leave to take a rest, let’s work overtime to death!]

A series of messages followed, along with a bunch of crying emojis.

Bai Weiran closed his eyes, rubbed his temples, and replied, [Got it. I’ll handle it when I get to the office.] Then he collapsed onto his bed.

“…I’m exhausted, daytime overtime, nighttime overtime.”

He almost immediately started making soft snoring sounds when he closed his eyes.

On his bedside table, the phone displayed a countdown: [14 hours and 38 minutes.]
