Chapter 7
Chapter 7: The Protagonist?:
“Xiao Yan, your aunt and I need to go to the company later. Could you take Jingyi to school today?” Su Yushun asked during breakfast.
Su Jingyi was now a junior at Jinghai University, two years younger than Chen Yan.
Chen Yan nodded in agreement upon hearing this. Although Jingyi had a designated driver, he had no reason to refuse this request. Even if Su Yushun hadn’t asked, Chen Yan would have offered. He felt he owed a lot to his fiancée, especially after last night. He wouldn’t feel at ease unless he personally took her to school.
Seeing that he didn’t refuse, Su’s mother felt relieved. From last night until now, Chen Yan’s attitude showed that he indeed cared for her daughter.
…
At 7 o’clock.
Chen Yan watched Su Yushun and his wife leave, then went upstairs.
“Wake up, sleepyhead~” Chen Yan said softly, and brushed away the stray hair on Su Jingyi’s forehead.
Hearing his voice, Su Jingyi opened her sleepy eyes.
Seeing Chen Yan so close, she immediately wrapped her slender arms around his neck and gave him a kiss, “Brother Chen Yan, it’s so nice to see you when I wake up~”
Chen Yan ruffled her hair affectionately. This girl was too precious, making him want to hold her tightly and protect her. Thinking of this, his desire to eliminate the protagonist grew stronger.
“Come on, get up. I’ll take you to school today.” Chen Yan said with a smile.
Su Jingyi nodded obediently, but when she tried to sit up, she gasped in pain.
Knowing the reason, Chen Yan offered, “Let me help you get dressed. You sit here.”
“Okay…” Su Jingyi’s voice was even softer.
…
Jinghai University.
As the top-ranked university in Jinghai City and one of the best in the country, it had a prestigious reputation.
Chen Yan drove Su Jingyi to the school gate.
The car was one from the villa’s garage, not Chen Yan’s. However, according to Su Jingyi, everything that belonged to her family would eventually belong to Chen Yan.
Chen Yan found this amusing. He wondered what Su Yushun would think if he heard that. It would certainly be interesting.
“Let’s go, Jingyi. I’ll walk you in.” Chen Yan said, unbuckling her seatbelt and gently ruffling her hair.
With a smile, Su Jingyi replied, “Okay~”
There were quite a few students like Su Jingyi who walked to school, though many drove themselves. In a wealthy city like Jinghai, expensive cars were common. Chen Yan counted at least a dozen cars worth over a million yuan.
“Jingyi!”
As they walked toward the school gate, a soft female voice called out to them.
“Tan Yan!” Su Jingyi exclaimed in delight.
Tan Yan?!
Hearing the name, Chen Yan was first slightly stunned and then shocked.
In the original plot, Tan Yan was the first woman to join the protagonist’s harem.
Described as a campus belle, she came from a powerful family in Beijing. Her relationship with the protagonist was initially opposed by her family, but eventually, the protagonist won them over with his abilities. The Tan family then became a significant support in the protagonist’s rise.
How had he forgotten that Tan Yan and Su Jingyi were close friends?
Wait, what day was it?
Chen Yan pulled out his phone.
May 17th!!
Indeed!!
In the original plot, the protagonist returned to Jinghai on May 17th as a transfer student at Jinghai University and became Tan Yan’s classmate.
Creating a fake identity was easy for the forces backing the protagonist.
His past ten years were completely absent from his records. Many of his enemies later tried to investigate him, but all failed.
However, this wasn’t a problem for Chen Yan. He knew everything about the characters from the novel. For instance, the protagonist had been a special forces soldier on secret missions, hence the lack of records.
Chen Yan hadn’t expected to confront that guy so soon!
He glanced at Su Jingyi chatting with Tan Yan and remembered what the protagonist did to the Chen family. His heart filled with killing intent. But he knew it wasn’t the right time yet.
Besides the protagonist’s plot armor, his extraordinary combat skills would easily defeat Chen Yan at present.
Being rash wasn’t advisable!
“Brother Chen Yan, come here~” Su Jingyi’s voice brought him back to reality.
Chen Yan collected his thoughts and walked over with a smile.
“Tan Yan, let me introduce you. This is Chen Yan,” Su Jingyi said softly.
Tan Yan smiled and extended her hand: “Hello, Jingyi’s fiancé.”
“Hello, Tan Yan,” Chen Yan replied, shaking her hand gently. As he looked at one of the heroines, he noted that she was indeed as beautiful as described, with a perfect figure.
He wondered how many ‘fate points’ he would get if he made this heroine fall for him.
It should be a lot, right?
Chen Yan had a dangerous idea.
On the way back, Chen Yan received a notification about a plot reversal:
[Ding! Congratulations, host, for reversing the plot. You have earned 1,500 fate points]
