Chapter 8.1
Stage 1-8. A Plan In Motion
The Lishburg Academy of Magic consists of four buildings.
The main school building, where classrooms are packed, is where students primarily spend their time.
The old school building, which is practically used as a warehouse for storing equipment.
The practical skills building, which has practice spaces for magic training and demonstrations.
These are large buildings, but the last one is smaller due to its limited use.
That is the faculty building.
Each teacher is given their own room, and at the top floor is the office of the headmaster.
And here I was, summoned by my homeroom teacher, sitting on the sofa in the headmaster’s office.
“I appreciate you coming here early in the morning, Vellet-kun.”
Facing me was an elderly woman with wrinkles on her face.
Her name is Frone Milfonty.
She is a hero, renowned for her numerous achievements to the point that no one does not know her nickname, ‘Frone of Thunder’.
Though she has retired from the front lines, she has clearly not lost her edge.
I could feel the pressure radiating from her.
“So, what business do you have that required excluding Alice? The matter with Ruark is already resolved, right?”
It’s been a month since their expulsion.
No one has approached me except Mashiro since then, so naturally, no problems have arisen.
“Hehe, today I called you here for a personal matter. I wanted to speak with you.”
Headmaster Milfonty offers me a cup of tea.
As I take a sip, matching her, I feel my tense muscles start to relax.
“It seems the tension has eased.”
“No student could face a hero like you and not be nervous.”
After all, my goal is to become a villainous lord.
I wanted to avoid catching the eye of someone like her, who stands for justice, at this stage.
Perhaps that feeling was too obvious.
“Oh my, you’re too kind. But I wasn’t able to save her.”
“Her…?”
“I’m talking about Mashiro Liche. I wanted to thank you for that today.”
She places her teacup on the table and smiles warmly.
“Thank you. It’s thanks to you that her precious talent wasn’t lost.”
“I just did what I thought needed to be done.”
And following my desires was the right choice.
Mashiro probably had a naturally bright personality.
She might have been feeling intimidated in an environment surrounded only by nobles.
As we spent more time together at the academy, she became more comfortable around me, leading to more physical contact.
She even jumps with joy or sometimes hugs me when something makes her happy.
Long live boobs! Academy life is the best!
“In this world, it is a given that each person has only one magical affinity. This is common knowledge, right?”
“Yes, it is.”
“But sometimes, children are born with multiple affinities. Liche-kun has an affinity for both wind and water. This is an incredible talent. Thanks to you, it wasn’t stifled. I want to thank you again on behalf of the academy.”
She began to bow again, so I stopped her with my hand.
“I’ve already received your thanks once. Your feelings are clear to me.”
I didn’t do it with such intentions, so I’d rather avoid this strange feeling of guilt from being overly praised by others.
“Well then, as classes are about to start, I’ll excuse myself.”
Later, when I return to the classroom, I’ll have Mashiro show me her magic.
With that thought in mind, I left the headmaster’s office.
