Chapter 15.2
Stage 1-15. The One Who Came To Deliver A Nightmare
“…Ah, please, Mio, just be asleep already…”
I really wanted to dodge her questions about love and leave.
I’m no saint. I don’t have the experience to answer such heavy topics.
That’s why I told her to sleep and wait… but judging by the way she acted, she’s definitely still awake.
“Ouga-kun? Is something wrong?”
“No, it’s nothing.”
I shake my head.
This isn’t the time. We’re about to head into a battlefield.
Bringing in unnecessary thoughts could be fatal.
Even against weaker foes, true professionals never let their guard down.
“Hey. This is the right place, yeah?”
“…Mm! …Mm!”
The guide, gagged with cloth, nods vigorously.
According to the intel Alice gathered, their base is in what used to be the only tavern in Inevent.
Apparently, the boss is inside, drinking and waiting for their report.
“Mashiro, you’re fully awake now, right?”
“Y-Yeah! I slept a lot, so I’m full of energy!”
“Good. Don’t get too nervous. I’ll take care of the boss. You just deal with the small fry around him.”
“Got it!”
Mashiro snorted and puffed out her chest, full of determination.
In fact, she was so pumped that her chest, squeezed between her arms, was getting a bit distorted.
I quickly shifted my gaze and gave orders to my sword as well.
“Alice, you stay out of it this time. The goal here is to gauge Mashiro’s abilities.”
“Understood.”
With her hands occupied by the thugs she tied up, Alice only nodded with her head.
What kind of strength does she have, honestly?
“Damn it…! Why aren’t they back yet!?”
“A-Ariban-sama! Please, calm down!”
“The booze’s going to waste, man!”
From inside, I could hear the raspy voice of a drunkard and the sound of glass bottles breaking.
Looks like the target is right where we want him.
“…Alright, let’s go.”
I raised my foot high and kicked the door wide open.
“Guwaah!”
Everyone turned their heads as a scream and the sudden sound of shattering came from one unlucky guy near the entrance.
“What the hell are you bastards!?”
“We’re the ones here to deliver a nightmare.”
With a sly grin, I pointed at the giant man, who seemed to be Ariban, his veins bulging in anger.
“This is where your evil ends.”
