Chapter 5
He opened the special room’s door, and his movements were so quiet to not disturb the afternoon’s languidness.
“Edith.”
Edith, who rested her head on her forearm on the table, was fast asleep. Her eyelids were shut tight.
Clyde’s steps paused.
The moment he found her sleeping, his gentle steps stopped altogether.
After watching the special room’s atmosphere for a while from afar, he approached carefully so that he couldn’t even hear the rustling sound of his clothes.
Clyde sat slowly across the small table, holding his breath.
He moved his lips without sound and called, ‘Edith.’
There was no response.
He tilted his head and looked at her face with disheveled hair, but there was no reaction.
Clyde didn’t want to wake up the beautiful girl from her deep sleep. He was going to wait and watch until she got up.
A space where no one can go in and out, a quiet and secret private room, and a time after a meal where slumber came.
It was a perfect atmosphere to look at her in a trance.
He sat facing her for a long time, like a marble statue sculpture, and locked her with his eyes.
A smile formed around the corner of his mouth, wrapped in his sharp jawline.
It was a completely different atmosphere from when she was told to read the high-stakes documents immediately.
Clyde rested his elbows on the table, quiet enough to hear the dust settle down. The movement of his chin was also cautious.
A long finger reached out toward her hair.
He touched a strand of her hair that was sticking out with a light movement that he couldn’t even feel it.
He let out a small, dreamy whisper.
“Are you deliberately pretending not to know me, like I do?”
Her last sigh was caught, and he exhaled his breath a little before stopping.
“Or is it true that you forgot me?”
The remnant of his breath gradually came little by little.
There was no reason to be so careful, but he didn’t want to ruin her sleep once he decided not to wake her up.
He had always thought they would meet again someday. Edith grew up just as he had dreamed of and adequately developed her childhood genius, passing his exams effortlessly.
He was proud and grateful to her.
Clyde had been looking for an attendant to work in the special room. He needed someone to devise a strategic plan with him, apart from the servant who would handle the official documents in the office.
But the first servant to fill this position was Edith.
He was even a little thrilled.
He got a little bolder when she didn’t notice, even as he fiddled with her sticking hair.
His insidious yet instinctive greed grew so fast that he wanted to do something while she hadn’t woken up.
He folded his upper body and stood up halfway up.
As her bulging cheeks filled his vision, the primal desire quickly increased in volume.
He put his face over her sleeping face.
A dim shadow flickered across her clean forehead.
Like Clyde’s dark inside, where he secretly plots evil things, which he was unaware of and was only navigating with greed.
‘[tnote keyword=”Saek, saek, saek.”]It was a soft snoring/breathing sound. I could find the right sound to describe it, so I just put the original sfx.[/tnote]’
Her breathing sound, which he couldn’t hear while sitting, stimulated his hearing.
He had a desire to keep it safe and the urge to overturn, attack, and defile it immediately.
Conflicting minds fought fiercely like fire and water. If her fiery lust prevailed, he would jump over the table and not know what would happen with her.
He bit his teeth tightly.
Let’s not do this.
There was a faint taste of blood in his mouth that he chewed hard.
The reason to persevere tormented the boiling body.
This was a moment when one could easily cross the self-restraint limits.
Alpha pheromones were released unconsciously.
It was the first time he had shed a pheromone that he had thoroughly controlled against his will.
The scent of seduction leaked from behind his ear, without even realizing he was spewing a substance that bewitches Omega.
Edith clenched her round back, smelled a completely different scent from him.
It was the natural body odor emanating from human skin.
At first glance, the smell of soap was mixed, but that was all, and no pheromones were felt. Undoubtedly, she was a Beta that extremely innocent.
Even after realizing that he had accidentally spilled the Alpha pheromones, Clyde was not in a hurry. Beta was unconscious of Alpha’s pheromones, so it seemed that it wouldn’t matter if he let his instincts tell him to.
At that time, Clyde’s muttering made her face move, which had not been moved by his monologue before.
His forehead narrowed slightly.
“Uh-huh–”
Even an uncomfortable groan broke out and Edith tried to get up.
Was it a coincidence?
Was she about to open her eyes just in time with his flirting?
No way….
Was she responding to pheromones?
Edith, who had always been quiet, woke up at the right time when he spilled pheromones over her sleeping face.
He thought it was a coincidence. On the other hand, it was a situation where he could doubt that her Omega nature might be latent.
Her long, curvy platinum eyelashes trembled.
Fresh green eyes appeared as if they were in early summer.
If he stayed like this, she would see his face closer. Clyde quickly lifted his head and retreated.
Edith opened her eyes by a hair’s breadth.
As her hazy eyes gradually focused, he sat on the opposite chair as if nothing had happened.
There was a deliberate rustling sound. He brushed his hair down on his forehead and fiddled with the front of his coat.
Edith lifted her head as soon as she came to her senses.
“Oh, you’re here, Your Highness.”
She was utterly perplexed.
She was bewildered that she had fallen asleep without noticing when Clyde had come to the special room.
How did she get through this hurdle?
She looked disheveled and rolled her head on her way.
The first strategy was to pretend not to sleep. For now, she put strength on her forehead and pretended not to be fine with half-asleep eyes.
However, looking at Clyde’s ridiculous expression, it seemed as if he was in a state of disbelief as soon as she started.
“Were you sleeping?”
She got caught. But for now, she tried to pull herself from it.
“No.”
Such a simple answer wasn’t appropriate in the honorific language of a servant to the Crown Prince. However, to her dismay, her speech became shorter.
Clyde stretched his plump, luscious lips from side to side without showing any sign.
Looking at her, he pulled out a handkerchief out of his coat pocket.
Edith gasped the moment she saw it.
Was there a situation where she needed a handkerchief on her face?
She was embarrassed and ashamed until she wanted to cry, but she couldn’t bring herself to distort her cheeks outright.
“Why … are you?”
She hurriedly put her hand to her face. If there were any stains, it had to be covered.
“Stay still.”
Clyde tried to hand Edith a white handkerchief with elegant embroidery but paused for a moment as if he had changed his mind.
He gently rolled his fingertips with the handkerchief.
The neatly folded piece of cloth on his finger is tearfully white. It was a white color that made her want to burst into tears.
Whether or not he knew the shame creeping into her, Clyde casually began to wipe her cheek gently.
Her face flamed up.
Sorry to say this about his manners that wiped her saliva, but she didn’t want to.
The voice from her heart couldn’t come out of her mouth. The Crown Prince gave her favor, but she couldn’t even put her face away.
The corners of her mouth, which were wiped gently, burned as red as hot iron, and her fingers curled. The toes in her shoes were also crumpled inside.
Maybe he was intentionally trying to bother her.
Unless he was joking around to make her feel more embarrassed, there was no way he would do something like this.
The stream of hopeless thoughts flowed out of her mind, she even openly resented the delicious lunch.
Even amid confusion, the area where Clyde’s delicate touch passed was tickled so provocatively itchy that goosebumps rose in the nape of her neck.
“That’s it, Edith.”
Besides, he just called her by her first name. Since when were they become so close?
But why does it sound so natural?
Clyde, who wrote her name on his tongue, uttered a smooth voice as he had always been called her like that.
Maybe he was a man who was very good to the opposite gender.
Everything was confusing.
Every moment was an ordeal.
No, until he met the main bottom in the original story, he was fickle and busy disciplining his subordinates. There weren’t many Omegas around.
Clyde wasn’t very welcomed by other characters other than the main bottom. To be precise, he used to get cursed at.
In order to rule an empire, there must be procedures and rules, but he used to push aside those things and did something according to his will.
A tyrant was not only a tyrant who cut off people’s necks. A rotten person who drives those around him to death is also a tyrant.
Thinking of Clyde’s Omega also reminded her of another story.
The main top was only affectionate, angelic, and gentle to the main bottom. The two of them speeding up like an engine doing the 19 rated deeds, did beep– and beep–. Many said they would have an angelic baby even before getting properly married.
There were many criticisms from readers about how the story and plots went, but that didn’t matter as more than 90% of it was covered with erotic stories.
The novel Edith was reading was a holy place for readers looking for cozy trash cans.
Before being possessed, she read the beep– part while diligently bookmarking it.
Of course, it was only good when she read it.
Until she suddenly fell into another world and took on the role of taking care of the Crown Prince herself.
Now, while shouting, ‘Writer, please write some plots!’ She couldn’t help but deplore how a human being could go back and forth between a sweet-hearted man and a tyrant with such a double personality.
However, Clyde showed extreme behavior when dealing with her. She suddenly took a difficult test, and now he was wiping her mouth with a handkerchief.
Albeit belatedly, Edith made an excuse to make up for the embarrassing atmosphere while wishing to dig into the ground.
“I didn’t have a job yet, so I took a break for a while. Time went by boringly.”
When she said it, she felt like she had made a mistake. She should have been used excuses like she had to lay down for a while to relax or she wasn’t feeling well and had to leave out work.
He wrapped the handkerchief in his hand and put it away. This was done to prevent the stain from being seen by Edith.
Such manners…. Ha, that was good but she felt like she couldn’t just like it.
It was because she knew very well what the stain was.
