I Became the Maid of the Lout Prince

After exchanging appropriate greetings with Seraphine and Luke upon entering the student council room…

I sat in the General Affairs seat that Luke guided me to and waited for the other student council members to appear.

Well, I had already heard about some of the members from Seraphine, and I roughly knew who the student council members were from the original story.

While I was sitting in my seat in the student council room, chatting casually with other council members, familiar characters in various ways began to appear one by one.

“It’s been a while, Lilith.”

“How was your summer vacation? I spent a relaxing holiday at a villa owned by the August Company last summer.”

“I see. I’m glad you had a good time.”

“…If it’s alright with you, perhaps next summer we could vacation together…”

“I’d prefer if you didn’t cling so much to my maid, Lady Lizzy Lynn August.”

One noble lady was boasting about her summer vacation story but quickly averted her gaze and fled at Ethan’s appearance.

“Is everyone here~? Hmm? The lady over here seems to be someone I haven’t seen before~?”

“…Senior Orion, if you get too close to my maid…”

“Oh my, Ethan~! It’s been a while~! Is this the first time since I saw you at the palace? You seem to have grown a bit taller since then. Have you become a bit more manly~?”

“S-Senior Orion, please step away from Young Master Ethan!”

One mysterious senior from the Magic Department who, just like in the game, is enigmatic and seems dangerous in many ways.

…And in addition to that, a character with no presence from a commoner background, about whom I only knew the name of without any other information.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Gwyn Evelt, a second-year in the Technical Department.”

“Ah, yes. I’m Lilith Blackwood Rosewood, a first-year in the Magic Department.”

“Yes. I’ll remember that.”

“…Thank you.”

A character with so little presence that, in a sense, he has even less known information about him than Orion.

This was my first meeting with Gwyn Evelt, the rival character in Luke’s route.

Gwyn Evelt.

To be honest, I barely remembered anything about him except his name and appearance.

You might say, “How could I not know a heroine’s rival character after pouring thousands of hours into Luminor Academy?” but this guy had such a faint presence that it really couldn’t be helped.

He was quiet, had no connections with major characters, and consequently had no significant role in the story. He was essentially a character that could be regarded as just a student NPC.

A male student with short brown hair, about 180 cm tall (T/N: around 5’ 11”), with a blunt personality. [Only on Galaxy Translations! / Axiomatic]

He just has the kind of appearance that makes you think the Luminor Academy production team might have said, “We’re getting tired of creating unique characters, let’s just make an average one and pair him with Luke.”

He had no memorable characteristics and no story where he played a main role. Even characters like Ethan or Caraham had main stories despite everything.

Even though he’s a rival character, he doesn’t act like one. He naturally disappears from the story like air once the protagonist starts building some friendship with Luke.

So, why call such an extra-like character a rival?

It’s because, in the ending where you show absolutely no affection towards Luke, it’s briefly mentioned in one line that Luke married this guy.

He’s treated as a rival just because he ends up with Luke in the conclusion.

‘Anyway, he’s not relevant to me.’

From the start, he was a character with no possibility of being involved with Lilith or Ethan in the original story. In fact, it was questionable whether his story was connected to any character other than Luke.

In a situation where I was already troublesomely entangled with the main characters, I had no energy to spare for a character with no presence.

As I mentioned earlier, this semester was going to be a hellishly busy period due to various matters.

“Now that Vice President Gwyn is here, let’s start the meeting. The first agenda we need to start from today is…”

It was the first day when all student council members gathered, including me, who couldn’t attend the previous day. Under Seraphine’s leadership, the student council work began.

Instead of joining in with agenda proposals or questions, I simply focused on organizing documents as the General Affairs officer.

After all, I had a separate purpose for joining the student council.

The image of the Blackwood family for joining hands with Seraphine’s Third Princess faction was certainly expected to rise.

Also, I needed to befriend Lizzy to ask for help in making potions for the end-of-semester Hunting Festival.

‘I can’t keep such a terrible sword-wielding maid by Ethan’s side anymore. From next year, quit being an exclusive maid and leave the Blackwood mansion.’

After waking up several times from such strange dreams and feeling uneasy, it was inevitable that my consciousness became focused on this aspect.

Well, I knew that Harold wasn’t the kind of person who would cut off an exclusive maid for such a trivial reason in reality. It’s just that the content of the dreams I’ve been having lately was like this.

Ethan was swinging his dual swords as if about to devour his opponent before him, and Harold blocked his swords with a serious expression.

It seemed that Ethan had undergone quite a lot of mental changes after the battle with the Kraken not long ago.

After that battle, Ethan’s swordsmanship grew at a truly unbelievable rate.

In the evaluation duel with Harold, he showed a much stronger and more powerful appearance, wielding his dual swords tirelessly, and in the weekly Practical Monster Subjugation classes, he was achieving even more results than before.

It seemed that having glimpsed the threshold of a Sword Master once had ignited Ethan’s motivation for growth.

I gave a calm compliment to Ethan, who returned to my side after finishing his duel with Harold.

“Since you’ve won against the Master in a duel, I’ll prepare a reward for tonight as well, Young Master Ethan.”

“Today, I didn’t just win a round like usual, but I won a ‘complete victory’ against Father, right?”
