I Became the Golden Sun That Steals the Academy’s Aircraft

chapter 2

002. Is this the golden sun or something?

Count of Lithuania, Viscount Landol, and Margrave of Infráctus William Henry Hart.

There were numerous modifiers used to describe him in the Tactical Combat worldview.

Even in the old world, he was a very popular character called the Unbroken Margrave of Iron and Blood, and I also really liked this character named William Henry Hart.

However, that favorite character has now become a father and is glaring at me with cold and cold eyes.

To be honest, he felt pricked by those sharp eyes, but he tried to pass it off by feigning composure.

I never wanted to look suspicious and arouse the Sangvis Margrave’s suspicions.

“I heard you called.”

The good thing about entering this body was that the etiquette of a nobleman flowed naturally without me having to be conscious of it.

No matter how much Gilbert was considered a fool, it did not mean that he neglected his learning as a nobleman. There was no way the Iron-Blooded Margrave would tolerate such behavior, and in Gilbert’s detailed setting, it was stated that his pride as a nobleman was strong.

In other words, there is a contradiction in that although he is a fool, he does not let go of his nobility.

I thought it was fun at the time…But thanks to it, I didn’t think I would get in trouble due to etiquette.

“Are you here?”

It was an emotionless voice. But he was able to catch a hint of disapproval within it.

I could roughly guess the reason. The two keywords that exist in the setting, libertine and bastard, must have made the count in front of him angry.

“I think you know why I called you even if I don’t tell you.”

“…”

There were many reasons. The two keywords mentioned above alone were sufficient reason to remove it from the family register. If I hadn’t been given the title of eldest son who could inherit the family, I might have been disposed of right away.

The Count of Lithuania was a great man who thought about his family as much as he valued his honor.

“I will not mention what I have turned a blind eye to until now. However, there is no more tolerance. Even if you are called the count’s bastard, you probably know what I mean.”

Don’t be reckless.

The Count was telling me that. It is a sentence that no action that lowers the family’s prestige will be tolerated, even if what happened before is an unwritten rule.

It was the worst situation, but it seemed quite encouraging that there was a last chance.

“I will keep this in mind.”

“You’re saying something interesting. Did you say keep in mind?”

“Yes.”

“Anyone can speak. But you couldn’t even say that. As a noble, words are worth a thousand gold. Do you know that your actions up to now have been throwing that value into the gutter?”

It was a radical statement. Now, the Count of Lithuania was not speaking as his father, but as a nobleman, and was criticizing me for the past that had tarnished his honor.

Even if he answered something here, it wouldn’t be a satisfactory answer to him. To get the first button done properly, it was best to keep quiet and keep your mouth shut.

“Have you gained a little insight? If so, that’s good. I’ll have to see how far your insight goes. You’ll be entering the academy soon, so you’ll have to show satisfactory results. That’ll be the last chance I give you.”

“…I understand.”

“There is no need to say anything more. Go away.”

The feeling of intimidation that had been weighing me down from the moment I entered the room disappeared immediately. The effort I made to remain undisturbed while sweating profusely was not in vain.

The last chance that the Lithuanian count spoke of was an unspoken pressure to speak only of results, but at the same time, it meant that previous work would be excluded from evaluation.

Instead, if the evaluation is below the count’s own expectations, it would be an expression of his will to boldly cut it out for the honor of the Hart family.

First of all, it was important to buy time, so I took a deep breath and left the office. Cold sweat ran down my back, but it didn’t bother me.

The door to the office closed and I sighed in relief. I didn’t realize it when I became possessed as a custom character, but I just realized that this was a lot more sh*t than I thought.

I was able to infer what narrative the characters that appeared in the game would follow, but I had no idea about the character Gilbert I had created.

If I had at least played the game, I would have been able to indirectly experience the events derived from it, but since I was dragged into this before even playing, I was in a situation where I had no idea.

What would have happened if the family had been destroyed because of that one line of setting that was written carelessly?

Just imagining it gave me goosebumps.

There were a lot of eyes around me, so I tried to remain calm and returned to the room. Only then was he able to sigh deeply.

“It’s going to turn.”

I felt frustrated in this situation where I couldn’t even sigh properly. But that wasn’t what was important right now.

First, I looked back on the conversation with the Count. My head wasn’t working properly because of the tension, but somehow it started working when I came to the room alone.

The Count told me it was my last chance and told me to bring satisfactory results in entering the Academy. Here, satisfactory performance clearly refers to grades.

No matter how much you don’t dream of advancing to the central region, if the Margrave’s son comes back with poor grades, problems will arise.

First of all, let’s assume that it is natural for a person’s reputation as a noble to be at an all-time low, and that the rumor will spread abroad. After that, if I succeed to the next Margrave without any problems, the commander-in-chief guarding this place will naturally be Gilbert Lionheart, and what if the Margrave guarding the border is bad?

It was natural to become good prey for other countries. This was the world where people would be captured and eaten if their national defense was weak.

Of course, this was an extreme judgment, but it was clear that the Iron-Blooded Margrave had even the worst-case scenario in mind.

So, what I’m saying is that I will cover up all my previous mistakes and bring real results.

With evidence that the borders of this empire, Infractus, can be sufficiently protected.

Once I got to this point, I was relieved that at least I wouldn’t be kicked out. If they had just ordered him to be placed on indefinite probation for damaging his reputation, he might have died in the middle of the story.

The worst was avoided, but achieving good results at the academy was not easy. Depending on the characteristic skills each person has, their skills vary greatly.

In addition, characteristic skills can never be used until they are unlocked, so there were many people who died without being able to acquire characteristic skills throughout their lives.

Because the triggers for awakening are so different, there was even a field of study that studied this in earnest. In particular, according to Gilbert’s memories, he had not yet mastered the characteristic skill. That’s why when I created this skill, I set it so that it would only be revealed for the first time when he plundered someone else’s aircraft.

The only time the son of this wealthy count family robbed others was when he seduced the woman he owned, so he never once had a chance to display his characteristics.

Of course, even if Gilbert’s personality was not set that way, riding someone else’s aircraft was almost a taboo, so it was a trait that no one but me could express.

But even if it was activated, I was already having a headache about how to use the trait that was activated when stealing someone else’s aircraft.

I decided to think about the characteristics issue later and brought up the issue of the narrative that will flow in the future. As I was entering the academy soon, I needed to decide on my future policy before then.

Finding a way out of this damn game world is an urgent priority.

First of all, I thought about a way to get out of the game, and since possession was common, I thought I might be able to go back if I cleared the game.

Usually, these types of possessions often return to their original world at the end of a novel or game. Considering such a universal outcome, the only thing I could do was to see the ending, but that was not an easy task.

First of all, it was difficult to see the ending itself, but even finding which of the numerous endings was the key to returning home was a problem.

And if it were a game, events would definitely occur at the right time, but this was reality. The idea that I could meet the ending conditions and achieve the desired result by assuming the numerous variables contained within it was too optimistic.

That doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

I scratched my head hard and continued thinking. I decided to revise the details as I watched the situation unfold and set short-term goals first.

The prerequisite was to successfully complete the Academy episode, the introductory part of Tactical Combat. There was a warning from the Count, and I had to raise my level as much as possible here and recruit colleagues. I felt like I could get to the ending with minimal risk if I dragged the main character around to some extent, made him level up, threw the big picture at him, and then jumped on the bandwagon to progress the story.

Before I left for the Academy, I was stuck in my head, organizing the direction of the episode and important turning points.

That’s it for a week.

The day of entering the academy has finally arrived.
