Chapter 0
<0 - Prologue>
I was obsessed with rerolling.
A tutorial reset marathon, forcing open the capsule with an emergency escape button to exit the game and start over again.
Every device kept warning me I could die, and the news was talking about it too, but honestly, it felt like a lie.
Why?
Because I’ve done it over ten thousand times already.
“Hey, are you crazy?! You’ll really die doing that!”
“It’s fine, I won’t die.”
“Ugh, crazy dude. You’ll get a tombstone that reads ‘It’s fine, I won’t die.’”
“So what?”
“You might as well just get lost in some sexy game instead of risking your life rerolling some luck-based trash.”
My childhood friend was spouting what wasn’t really a curse but still felt like one.
It’s really fine though.
“Rerolling, fine. But if you played a female character, at least they’d have some libido going on and look wholesome. Why are you only playing those sweat-stinking muscular male characters all the time? Are you secretly gay?”
“What are you talking about? I’m not gay! It’s just that I got hooked on one-shot big damage. As long as the damage is good, I’m okay with a male character.”
“But you’re only playing male characters.”
“Because there’s no build better than this for damage.”
“Is that so? So if it has good damage, you’d even be okay with a female character who’s got no muscle, is super short, has pale skin, and looks pitiful, right?”
“Of course!”
After downing a few bottles, a barrage of interrogative questions kept flowing.
Is it because she’s a girl that she talks so much?
Maybe due to the alcohol, a silly thought crossed my mind.
Could it be?
Is she worried because she likes me?
Just as I had that self-important thought, my friend said:
“Hey, if we sleep together tonight, I’ll let it slide!”
“Sure. But I gotta game.”
Like I’d fall for that.
Just because she’s a childhood friend, does that mean we all like each other or something?
Can’t we just drink wholesome and talk about games?
That’s all just drunken rambling.
“Text me when you get home, Sia.”
After sweetly sending her off in a taxi, I returned home and powered up the capsule.
I knew it was a green light, but what’s the use?
Even if we dated, I don’t have any money for dates.
Let’s just game.
*
With a laid-back mindset, as soon as I powered up the capsule, Sparks! flew.
Surely not, was it an electric shock caused by capsule malfunction?
‘Ah… I’m dying here.’
It was too late to regret.
A terrible pain coursed through my body with the shock.
“…You brought this on yourself. I definitely gave you an opportunity.”
They say when you’re about to die, it’s like watching a lantern show.
And what do you know, I could hear the voice of my childhood friend Sia.
Should I have dated her?
Regrets were fleeting.
Soon, the consciousness switch flipped down.
*
And then I woke up in this world like a dog.
[Tutorial Event]
You, who set out on a journey to the capital with dreams of a stormy future for entering the academy! A letter from your father has arrived at the inn room where you were staying.
What kind of gift has your father prepared for you? Open the letter to find out!
Not that I’m complaining.
I died while gaming, so I wake up in the game world.
As a true gamer, I find it quite gracious.
Molgang!
Feeling the sensation when I pressed my finger against my arm.
Soft white skin just from looking at it.
Excessively long hair that’s kind of a hassle.
The body of a strange woman may be troubling, but I can endure it.
But there’s just one thing that’s bothering me.
[To my daughter Oknodie]
The name written on the outside of the letter was the problem.
In this world, they read it as Oknodie and write it like that too.
At first, I didn’t notice, but looking again, I realized.
One phrase pops into my mind out of habit.
“It’s fine, I won’t die.”
Ok no die.
It was a rather annoying name for someone who just died and woke up in the game world.
