chapter 17
17 – 17. Wall
The academy does not prohibit practice sparring between students.
No, rather it was encouraged. When two students with a passion for improvement say they will spar safely, who could not applaud?
Adela must have wanted to check Scarlett’s skills and understand her fighting style.
Because a merchant is a being who clings to evidence.
However, she never challenged Scarlett to spar with her.
Because there was no justification.
Her request for a sparring match without justification clearly shows her true intentions, and it is like admitting that she is unconsciously keeping her in check and caring about her.
As the proud owner of Cheonhwa, this was something that could not have happened.
So, she might think that it would be better if Scarlett would at least start a fight with her, but given Scarlett’s personality, she wouldn’t even have spoken to her, let alone offered her a sparring offer.
I made Adela an offer that she couldn’t refuse.
“Let’s stick together today.”
At my words,
, The leg that was about to leave suddenly stopped.
She doesn’t move in that position.
The sound of her head turning can be heard up to here.
After a few seconds, her answer came back.
“Can you persuade Student Scarlett?”
I took the bait. She already wanted to hang out, so it must have been hard to refuse her offer to let go of her leg.
I gathered my momentum and answered calmly.
“Of course.”
Scarlett seems very detached from everything in the world, but this is not a personality issue.
No matter how certain you are, the thought of ‘I want to compete once and see it with my own eyes’ is a human instinct, regardless of values and background.
There is no need for a grand plan to make this sparring happen.
Just a word from the instructor. One line of justification would be enough.
I thought so, and it seemed like Adela was also thinking about it.
After a while, she finally turned her back.
The merchant’s characteristic business smile was put on again.
“Then, let’s check it first.”
—
So, as soon as lunch time started, I headed to the bakery under the main auditorium.
I really don’t understand, but she seemed to have fallen asleep while making this and was only eating black bread.
I told Adela to go to the sparring hall in advance.
The reason I didn’t approach Scarlett as if she was snatching her from the spot as she was leaving the main auditorium was to look as natural as possible.
It is less emotionally burdensome to give the feeling of ‘no’.
As I was sitting on a nearby bench waiting, a familiar red-faced female student came out of the bakery.
Now, I’m holding a pitch-black bread that could be considered a trademark.
“Miss Scarlett.”
I called her, and as she was heading towards her main auditorium, her steps stopped.
When she saw me sitting on her bench, she came towards me with long strides.
She was fortunate to have built up enough trust that she would not be ignored even if she spoke to her again.
“Why are you calling me?”
“I was already looking for it. “I’d like to take a short walk and talk.”
“End it briefly.”
So we started walking.
Of course, the direction was naturally taken towards the sparring grounds.
“A mid-term evaluation will take place in about 15 days.”
“I know.”
“It’s hard to watch newbies bickering about things that don’t work out, but I’m also in a position to help them prepare. “It is a measurement of mana quantity.”
I took out a rectangular black object from my pocket.
“This is what we measure, and you are one of the two students that will be measured.”
“Why me?”
“Because it is the strongest. The other one is Miss Adela. “The amount of mana coating on the stage will have to be higher than that to prevent it from breaking.”
Actually, this is a chalk box that has been modified to look decent. What kind of measurement is this? All of that has already been decided.
But it was a very suitable excuse for Scarlett, who neither knew nor needed to know that fact.
“So, I need you to cooperate with Miss Adela.”
“How?”
“It’s annoying to work twice, so let’s spar with each other.”
At the word couplet, her movements while walking and eating bread stopped for a moment.
I rolled her eyes for a moment, and then she answered.
“What did the lady say?”
“She is not that girl, it is Miss Adela, but I have already spoken to her. “I’m waiting at the sparring hall now.”
“Why do you proceed as you please-“
“So, you’re not going to do it?”
The story is already over when you don’t reject it outright.
“So, when does it start?”
“Of course, right now. “I can see the sparring hall over there.”
“…”
That’s how we arrived at Dalianjang.
Among the many students you see as soon as you open the door, the one with white hair stands out and the flower floating above it.
After checking on us, Adela walked slowly and lowered her head.
“Hello, Student Scarlett. I look forward to.”
“…Please take care of me.”
After the awkward greeting, Adela took something out of her arms and held it out to me.
It was the remains of a D-class Mana doll.
“Instructor. I had some time left, so I did my homework. “Can I submit it in advance?”
She speaks with a bright smile.
I think I’ve taken the initiative in my own way, but Scarlett probably won’t pay attention to her.
I said after taking the remains of the task.
“Now, let me guide you to a place that is too much for two commoners.”
The place we took them to was the instructor-only sparring hall that was used earlier.
The concentration of coated mana is on a different level from that of the student sparring hall.
Here, both of us can do our best with peace of mind.
Two prospects face each other at a distance in the center.
One clenches his fist,
One person is pointing the petal connected to the mana thread towards the other person.
I spoke from the outfield where I could watch those two people.
“Are you ready?”
Two people nod without knowing who should go first.
“Start!”
—
Even though it is a practice sparring match, it follows exactly the same rules as the actual match.
The participating students first wear an S-class mana shield using the power of the magic stone.
As it is the most reliable safety device, it cannot be accidentally broken unless instructor Miho hits it.
And, the moment the impact is applied to that safety device, it is defeated.
If it had been actual combat, that part would have been pierced.
Usually, on top of the S-class shield, another layer of magnetic mana shield is placed.
If you don’t do that, you will lose the moment you even pass by.
Adela’s Heavenly Flower showed tremendous performance in this situation.
The two petals, which can easily output the fire power from magical power A, even made the person who was hit feel unreasonable.
The moment you are hit by a magical bullet from the Heavenly Flower, the protective shield you put up at the student level will be destroyed in an instant.
And all that remains is defeat.
“Start!”
And that obvious fact, Adela also knew.
Two beams of light are fired with terrifying force at the same time as the signal.
When the magical bullet struck Scarlett at a speed close to her bullet, it reached right in front of her nose.
It was only a moment, but I saw a smile appear on Adela’s face.
It must be a confidence based on experience.
But….
·
Kwaang-!
·
A tremendous roar that announces the world’s firepower.
The place where the roar came from was the wall.
“…Huh?”
In front of the wall, Scarlett was standing perfectly fine.
The sight of her head slightly tilted will leave only one judgment in Adela’s mind.
‘I avoided it.’
As for the unavoidable attack, if the premise collapses, the sentence itself cannot be established.
Scarlett began to move slowly. The distance between the two begins to narrow.
Adela pulled her finger that was connected to her cloth with all her might and adjusted her angle again.
For someone who faced an unexpected situation, he was surprisingly cool-headed and had quick judgment.
Cheonhwa’s magic bullet fired again. But this time, instead of focusing on one point, they were targeting different parts.
The roar rang out again, but this time Scarlett turned her body sharply to avoid it.
“How…” . Ah!”
She seemed to have finally realized that her first avoidance was not a coincidence.
The fact that Scarlett did not have an additional mana shield around her body.
So, even if just one swipe was her defeat,
She advances towards Adela, dodging all of her attacks and focusing all of her mana on just those two fists.
It was a frightening level of confidence.
·
Bam! Quang!
Now Cheonhwa was constantly spewing fire.
It was the height of inefficiency, but now Adela had only one answer.
Turn all your mana into fire rate and pray that it hits somewhere.
Accordingly, Scarlett also became busy.
She no longer moves forward and focuses on dodging.
However, that impatience was decisive.
·
Quaak!
The impatience that consumed Adela caused her to push Scarlett harder than necessary….
The moment she came into range, her hand snatched the petal itself.
The mana thread was cut off.
‘It’s over.’
Manasil can continue again, but the game is won before that.
Since she had easily dodged two of her petals, it was no problem to approach her while dodging even one of her petals.
Surprisingly, the picture is the same as during the mid-term evaluation in the game.
It was Scarlett’s fist that concentrated all of her mana that attacked Adela, who was unable to block her approach.
·
·
Bang!
·
“aaah?!”
Only one.
With just one punch to the abdomen, Adela’s mana shield was shattered.
You won’t feel any pain, but the shock will still be felt.
Adela flew backwards, hit the wall, and fell to the ground.
It took less than 30 seconds for her to be defeated.
I said with my arms crossed.
“It’s over. “Can you both stop?”
Scarlett looked at me and said.
So calm that it feels boring.
“So, are you finished measuring?”
I hold a can called a measuring instrument,
It crushed the spirit of the young lady who had too much confidence in her own sacred things.
“I couldn’t fill it. “It ended too quickly.”
