chapter 3
3. Dormitory
Marriage.
Its power has been handed down as a Druid’s exclusive property since ancient times.
They are born with the ability to see spirits, making them the only friends of nature and animals that cannot speak.
The Druid race was as peaceful as that, but they learned how to deal with the marriage period as they felt the danger from the demon army that threatened the world and the humans who gradually expanded their territory.
The way to deal with marriage has been passed down through generations, and those who accept the power are said to be ‘immortals’.
– Ah… No. Now I should call you my immortal, El. I ask because I have a question, but was your body originally this cold?
“I’m sorry. That’s how it is.”
– Huh… I was born with it. It was the first time I had seen the cold that even freezes the soul.
“You even frozen the soul?”
– The soul that dwells within you, my friends have now become frozen statues of ice! Ha ha ha ha ha!
A boisterous laugh was heard.
“Uh… Then, wouldn’t it be possible to get married properly?”
– That’s not it. I’ll tell you more about the marriage period later, so don’t worry too much. And… You don’t seem to have much time.
Damn it.
As if Aqua Cocourn had reached its limit, it began to split.
Water drips drop by drop, like rain leaking from the ceiling.
Damn it.
– Oh. Are the water drops frozen?
Waterdrops fell on her long hair and frost appeared.
The saggy, stiff bangs.
‘I can’t see anything like this.’
I flipped my bangs back, which bothered me.
I didn’t need a separate headband. It’s because it hardened as it was when I passed it back.
Clear vision.
Grandel admired it as if he had seen something precious.
– Whoa… I’ve seen a lot of beauties who can make the world cry, but I’ve never seen a handsome man like you. What else is the reason for growing messy bangs?
“There is no particular reason.”
‘Isn’t El’s own circumstances?’
It was El who covered her face, not me.
A look recognized even by Grandel.
I felt good.
The price is only 20 years.
Let’s go outside before it’s too late, as if Aqua Cocourn had been waiting for it! And burst out
He was shabby like a drowning mouse.
He complains of pain as his body groans.
‘Ladia is sleeping.’
She tries to say thank you to her, but if you disturb her sleep again, she doesn’t know what to say.
I was already frowning as if I was uncomfortable somewhere.
Is it because it interrupts your nap?
I also wanted to rest quickly.
The desire to experiment with the acquired soul is really like a chimney, but if it stays like this, it’s clear that I will really become a soul.
‘Where is the dormitory here?’
Remembering the map in the game, I headed for the dormitory.
***
Just a few minutes ago.
“When the hell is he coming?”
Ladia crossed her legs with her very annoyed face.
It was obvious that I hadn’t even looked at the guy Ladia was talking about. The only people who came to this peaceful lake were the academy’s president and L.
‘What are you thinking? Don’t you say you’re going to go into the lake? Don’t you ask me to cast a spell as if you know about me? It’s not really what I’m talking about, but there are so many crazy people in the world.’
I’ve heard many people say that Radia has a temper, but I’ve never seen someone as insane as El.
That was a man full of suicidal thoughts.
The academy’s uniform was stained like a rag.
His long blue hair covered his eyes and nose, making it look very dark.
‘Besides, there was a black bruise on my neck… As if someone had grabbed it.’
Although there were no visible wounds anywhere else, El was definitely a student who was being bullied at the academy.
It seems that the health teacher, who is famous for being remote and wide, has treated all of them… Did he just cover that area so he didn’t notice?
The reason why Radia didn’t block El separately was simple.
‘I’m more afraid of those who have nothing to lose. I don’t think a weakling will do anything to me, but there’s nothing wrong with being careful.’
But doesn’t this take too long…
She couldn’t fall asleep because she had to constantly use her magic to maintain her magic.
‘Aren’t you already dead?’
I was looking at the lake water like a fisherman.
When she was waiting for something to go down in her nervous heart, blue hair began to rise from under her.
‘Ah, it’s finally here.’
The moment Ladia was about to get up to say a few prickly words.
‘Uh, uh…? Am I wrong?’
Ladia was lying down again.
The L who appeared again was completely different from the first time.
To be exact, the face.
Her face was different.
Her blue hair tucked behind her, revealing her forehead.
Dark eyebrows and a nose as tall as a slide.
Her distinct features, sharp jawline, and tired, decadent eyes caught her gaze.
The handsome man you’ll never see again, has a sculpted face far superior to the world’s prettiest and most handsome elf.
Trumbling.
‘Oh no, really? Is it really that El, the one I just saw?’
I couldn’t believe it.
Ladia pretended to sleep, closing her eyes involuntarily.
The sound of footsteps getting closer.
Her tension grips her entire body.
Ladia narrowed her eyes slightly to make sure what she saw was correct.
‘Hey! It’s right in front of you?!’
She screamed silently in her heart.
That’s right. She was perfect She must have seen it.
It felt like a man dressed up unrealistically came out of a comic book I read whenever I was bored.
Amazement mixed with admiration, I was at a loss for words.
My pounding heart was beating loudly.
El comes closer to Ladia and checks to see if she is sleeping.
It sounded like an unspoken threat to wake up.
Her hands and feet were naturally twisted.
‘A kid like that was at our academy?!’
The reason I left the academy was not only because the classes were boring, but also because the aristocrats who were full of vanity looked down on me and ignored me because they were commoners.
Usually, when she gave her name, she boasted of her family tree, prestige, and servants by telling her genealogy line by line, but…
‘L… The family name and the length of the name are short. Obviously a commoner Like me… Commoner.’
I couldn’t believe it. How can she say she’s a commoner with that look?
She couldn’t get rid of his melancholy eyes.
Is it still in front of you? What to say if you get caught pretending to be sleeping.
After thinking about it, I slightly opened my eyes.
“Isn’t it?!”
I jumped up.
In front of my eyes were trees and lakes that I had been accustomed to seeing.
It feels like something that filled my heart has disappeared.
Emptiness comes belatedly.
Ladia muttered as she blankly looked at the place El had left.
“…You must have been a freshman like me, right?”
***
Orion Academy’s dormitory holds numerous cadets, befitting the most prestigious educational institution in the Eleanor Empire.
Since it is located in a place a little far from the capital, a so-called magical place, there is a dormitory for students who cannot commute to school.
Noble at the top.
A mid-level middle.
Under the lower ranks.
Some students asked for dormitories to be divided into commoners and nobles, or to create dormitories for each occupation, such as swordsmen, wizards, priests, etc., But the director of Orion Academy neatly dismissed those opinions.
Only skill.
Only skills provide a more comfortable life and food.
It was not difficult to find a dormitory for me to attend.
I looked through the pocket of my uniform and found my student ID card with my face on it.
And the dormitory L goes to…
“Is it under?”
He raised his head high.
I was at a loss for words at the under dormitory where the lower ranks went.
The reason why I held my head high was simple.
‘It’s a dormitory on top of a mountain. It would be perfect for exercise.’
The well-opened staircase was like a stairway to heaven. If I climb all that up, wouldn’t I have to use a wheelchair tomorrow?
Looked really good for physical training.
Really.
***
– Heh heh heh! Wasn’t it really nice to ride the mountain too! I made this body remembering the days when I used to exercise.
“…Come to think of it, Grandel made it all.”
– Goreum! How do you not like it?
“Yes, you are the best…”
I am out of breath.
Every time he gasps, the air freezes.
It’s not something that can simply be said to be painful.
The phlegmon was tormenting the whole body with a terrible chill.
I felt like someone was putting a jigsaw in my body and sharpening it, and I broke into a cold sweat. The sweat also freezes in an instant.
– Hmm… Did you say it was a mouthfull vein? It’s not an ordinary disease. Being loved by the sky, embracing the heavenly spirit, and in return, becoming closer to the sky than anyone else. At this point, the fraud will be even deeper.
‘The more I overwork my body, the more my palatine artery runs rampant. If it hadn’t been for the [Revolutionary’s Heart] Trait… I could have rolled down from here.’
I got new information.
The scenery of the academy seen from the top was superb, but I went into the dormitory without having time to look around.
I looked for someone to ask for help with my chest on my back, but I couldn’t even find the person who manages the dormitory.
It’s safe to say that the Under Dormitory is almost abandoned.
‘If you have any complaints, improve your skills.’
El’s room, which she struggled to enter while holding onto the railing, was fairly clean.
There was basically a bed, a chair, and a desk, and several textbooks were placed.
‘Come to think of it… I haven’t checked what class I’m taking yet.’
I had seen the academy’s class dates dozens of times in the game, so I knew every lecture.
[Basic Swordsmanship Theory]
[Combat Technology]
This is a basic lecture for all students who aspire to be first-year engineers.
Basic Swordsmanship literally teaches you about swordsmanship, and Combat Skills teaches you how to deal with wizards if you are a knight, and how to deal with knights if you are a wizard.
And the rest of L’s chosen lecture…
[Remains Excavation]
[Basic of Alchemy]
It was a so-called ‘honey lecture’ class that a small number of students were looking for.
