Chapter 31 - (Revised by Author) Worse Than Trash?
Author Notes:
Hello, dear readers. This is the author of “I Became a National ‘Disaster’ Level Monster.”
First, I would like to apologize sincerely. I am truly sorry for any discomfort that my work may have caused.
I have reflected deeply after receiving harsh criticism from many readers about the recent “Big House” episode.
The unreasonable plot twists and nonsensical surprises were inexcusable. I am deeply sorry for disappointing the readers who were enjoying my work.
After much deliberation, I am embarrassed but I have decided to entirely remove the “Big House” episode.
Thankfully, this episode was designed as a sort of spin-off, so if you continue with the content added in episode 28, you should be able to follow along with the original storyline easily.
Once again, I deeply apologize. I have clearly understood what you, the readers, expect from my work, and I will do my best to meet those expectations and show you the dedication you deserve.
The only reason a third-rate author like me could rise to this position among the many masterpieces on NobelPia is because of your interest. From now on, I will focus and do my best with the series.
Thank you.
Chapter 31: Worse Than Trash?
Even knowing it was futile, people always made the same suggestion.
A friend.
In other words, a playmate.
Did they pity me, who always wore a blindfold to avoid seeing the disgusting outside world?
It was needless sympathy and unnecessary concern.
Because I didn’t take off the blindfold even at home.
“…They’re late.”
Since the guest was recommended by the Hunter Association of Korea, she reluctantly agreed to meet them.
So, Princess Kurumi headed to a specially prepared guest tatami room for meetings with outsiders.
A thin cloth that barely showed silhouettes was installed in the middle of the room, and the guest who was about to enter would meet the princess with the cloth between them.
“It’ll be pointless anyway…”
Kurumi went to the back of the guest room and sat on a cushion prepared in advance.
Then, she tried to sense the presence beyond the cloth.
Born with the physique of a Beast Hunter, she could feel the repulsive aura of a human even without seeing them.
She planned to talk for about ten minutes and then send the guest away to avoid awkwardness.
At that moment.
Screech.
‘They’ve come.’
She heard the sliding door open.
Kurumi remained silent, planning to greet the guest once they entered.
But what was this?
“…?”
The sliding door closed again without anyone entering.
She couldn’t sense the repulsive aura of a human in the room.
Had one of the servants mistaken the room and opened the door only to close it again?
About five minutes passed, wondering when the guest would arrive.
“…Excuse me.”
“?!”
“Um… should I have greeted you first?”
Although she felt no presence beyond the cloth, she heard a human voice.
Kurumi was momentarily surprised but then thought.
‘Ah, it seems the servants have kindly arranged for remote communication for me.’
The reason the sliding door opened earlier.
It was to bring in a machine to replace the guest with a TV screen or something.
…Initially, Princess Kurumi thought so.
“Hello.”
“Oh, yes. Hello.”
“…?”
Were modern electronics really this advanced?
Kurumi spoke absentmindedly, feeling as if she was talking to a real person without any electronic sound.
“It feels like I’m talking to a real person in front of me.”
“…? Well, I am a real person?”
“…What?”
“Pardon?”
A moment of silence.
Then, unbelievably, it wasn’t remote communication through a machine.
‘Right now… are they really in front of me?’
Realizing she was indeed meeting a person, yet sensing no repulsive aura, Kurumi held her breath for a moment.
And, uncharacteristically for a noble, she wiped a drop of cold sweat from her forehead with her hand.
“Could you come over here for a moment?”
“…Yes?”
Though it was against the rules, she wanted to confirm directly if the person? beyond the cloth was indeed there.
“The servants warned me not to cross this cloth before entering…”
“I’ve given permission, so it’s fine.”
Of course, it wasn’t fine.
It was scandalous for a noble of her standing to invite an ordinary human to sit with her without any precondition.
Given the voice’s tone, the guest was likely a ‘man.’
This was an outrageous and shameless act that could disgrace her family’s name.
However, even the usually restrained and patient princess…
“Hurry, come over! Quickly!”
“Oh, okay!”
…couldn’t bear it any longer.
He wasn’t a repulsive monster, nor a human mixed with repulsion.
A human who combined the best of both without any repulsion.
Kurumi, who had never even dreamed or imagined such a being, was excited by the possibility of such a person appearing before her.
Swoosh.
Through the thick cloth that only showed silhouettes.
“……”
A man knelt on one knee before her, close enough to feel his warm breath.
She still felt no repulsive aura from him.
For the first time, she didn’t feel disgusted by a human’s presence, a sensation she would never forget for the rest of her life.
Meeting this man was becoming a priceless treasure to Kurumi.
“Is this okay?”
“Ah, yes…”
Normally, she would feel homicidal urges beyond disgust at such close proximity to a person.
But now, she felt none of that.
Even with his solid physique covering her slender body, she didn’t feel unpleasant but rather felt her heart race in a different way.
‘What is this feeling…?’
It was the first time she felt this way, so she couldn’t be sure.
But Kurumi was certain it wasn’t bad.
It felt like someone had painted colorful red paint on a black and white canvas that had only known white and black.
Like a child whose eyes sparkled upon seeing such a color for the first time, that’s how Kurumi felt.
And then she crossed the line.
Thud.
“Ah! I’m sorry!”
“Huh? No, it’s fine…”
She accidentally touched the man, gathered with her hands together in excitement.
It was just a brief touch, but he felt very solid.
Judging by his presence, he was kneeling before her, looking down.
So, the part she touched must have been the man’s collarbone?
Thinking about it again, normally she would have fainted from the fact she had touched someone, but now the red feeling intensified, almost ready to explode.
Steam was rising from Princess Kurumi’s head.
But, what was fearful at first becomes easy the second time.
“Excuse me…”
“Yes. What is it, Princess?”
“Um… if it’s alright, can I touch you a bit?”
“…What?”
Kurumi knew how shameless and perverted her request was.
She covered her face with her hands out of embarrassment immediately after speaking.
But he was the first person she had ever encountered who didn’t feel repulsive.
She could communicate with him, yet he wasn’t repulsive.
For an ordinary person, it might not seem like much, but for a Beast Hunter born to perceive others as repulsive, this was extremely rare… no, it was non-existent.
So, even though she knew it was embarrassing, she couldn’t help herself.
Like Columbus landing on the American continent for the first time, Kurumi wanted to touch him more.
But without an answer, she fidgeted with her hands in patience.
Just then.
“Well, if you wish?”
Like feeding a hungry puppy, the man beyond the blindfold agreed.
Squeeze.
Immediately, Kurumi began to feel the man’s face to get an idea of his appearance.
“Amazing…”
“……”
Squeeze.
“What’s your name?”
“My name?”
“Yes. Your name, please.”
Having roughly identified his facial features, Kurumi placed his thick, rough hand on her palm.
Instinctively, she sniffed lightly to remember his scent.
From beyond the blindfold, the answer came.
“Han Shin-woo.”
“Han Shin-woo…”
Han Shin-woo.
Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo.
Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo, Han Shin-woo.
Good, I’ve definitely remembered it now.
She decided to write it down in Japanese, Korean, and English later to remember it in writing too.
“What do you usually do?”
“Usually?”
“Yes, your hobbies or work, things like that…”
Normally, the meeting should have ended… no, it should have ended a long time ago.
The scheduled ten minutes had already passed while she was sniffing his scent.
But strangely, for the first time, Kurumi wanted to extend this time more… no, much, much longer.
So she asked random questions.
To keep him by her side a little longer.
“I don’t have any particular hobbies. I work as a Hunter Meister.”
“Meister… That’s why your hands are so rough.”
“Haha, yes, that’s right.”
A Hunter Meister.
A humble equipment maker for hunters, much lower in status compared to a daughter of one of the world’s top ten families.
But strangely, it felt grand when this man said it.
She could feel the toil.
These thick, rough hands that pulled iron, hammered, and wiped the sweat off his body…
…Slurp.
Strangely, imagining him sweating made her mouth water.
But it felt like a different kind of hunger, a craving.
Kurumi didn’t understand this feeling.
But she knew she wanted to put his finger in her mouth for a moment.
As her reason was being pushed out by instinct.
“Princess, it’s time for your lunch.”
She was about to suck his finger sensually when a servant’s voice brought her back to her senses.
“Huh? Oh!”
“…Princess?”
“Oh, I’m sorry. It was nice meeting you today. You may leave now.”
“Huh? Oh, okay…”
She almost made a huge mistake.
She nearly did something incredibly shameful, unbefitting a noble’s daughter.
Above all, it would have been embarrassing for him too.
‘I don’t want to be disliked…’
For a princess of a world-class noble family to be concerned about a commoner’s opinion.
But Kurumi didn’t find this strange at all.
Because if she acted arrogantly and he ended up disliking her, she would want to die immediately.
It was more comfortable to be cautious.
Then.
“Hey, um!”
“…?”
Feeling his presence fading, she couldn’t hold back and called out.
“When… when can we meet
again? Us…”
“Meet again?”
Her heart sank at his puzzled tone.
‘Did I not leave a good impression?’
Well, she did suddenly touch him, sniff him, and almost suck on him.
That must have been a huge affront to him.
“Ah, ah…”
No.
I need to hold onto him.
Even if I have to beg.
Even if I have to strip and bow.
Kurumi was about to plead desperately when he said.
“If the Princess calls, then from that moment.”
“…Oh!”
Hearing his willing reply, Kurumi, who hadn’t smiled like this since childhood, spoke immediately.
“Then… then let’s meet again tomorrow. I still have a lot to talk about.”
