I Became a Malicious Streamer

Chapter 174

It was an unexpected character who sent me a message about getting married along with a mobile invitation, but it wasn’t entirely strange given the circumstances.

The pool of candidates wasn’t very broad. My social circle has always been quite narrow.

At least lately, I’ve been steadily increasing my acquaintances through my broadcasts.

From the teammates of the first external event, the EOW Streamer Battle, to the connections I’d made with the Flare Crew, and the commentators and league staff I briefly got to know while commentating on leagues. Plus, there were new teammates I’d met through this competition.

Though it had certainly expanded since the past, I would still call it a limited social circle.

Other people would probably have high school friends, schoolmates, or childhood neighborhood friends, but such relationships didn’t seem to exist for Ji-eun, the original owner of this body.

Though I did receive messages from those claiming to be friends from I Ji-eun’s school days, most of them were not genuine friends but simply reached out because I had become somewhat famous with my broadcasts.

It felt more like they were trying to grab the crumbs that fell from the table without really being close. Or perhaps they were just hoping to get closer to Ji-eun through this opportunity.

Since I lacked any memories of I Ji-eun’s school life, I couldn’t be certain, but that was the impression I got.

What kind of life had Ji-eun lived? How could it be that there weren’t any friends’ contacts in her phone?

Considering Ji-eun’s appearance, it would have been hard to believe that she had no friends, but perhaps it was related to her not going to university. Maybe Ji-eun had unilaterally pushed people away.

From what Ji-yeon told me, it seemed like she had built a considerable wall around herself.

In any case, the only relationships that could be traced back to the old Ji-eun were family.

Among those, the only person who could potentially marry was Ji-yeon. But since she wasn’t even an adult yet, it was unlikely she’d suddenly decide to marry, so that was out.

In the end, it was someone I had met while broadcasting who was getting married, and there were only a few individuals I deemed worthy of marriage.

Among those who had reached the age of marriage, there were those with significant others, especially those whose relationships had lasted long enough for people around them to be asking when they would get married.

They were the strong candidates. Notable examples would be Director Jacky and caster Bang Hyeongjae.

But if that were the case, I wouldn’t have been so surprised. Even if I found their marriage sudden, it wouldn’t be unexpected.

I looked at my phone again to check the name of the one who sent the mobile invitation.

– Kim Taek-soo ♥ Jeong Soo-hee We are getting married.

Kim Taek-soo is Tex. Jeong Soo-hee is Papi Joah.

Yes, it was the marriage between Tex and Papi Joah. I knew they were dating well but never thought they’d be getting married so soon.

It’s usually said that it’s fortunate if people in broadcasting manage to date without becoming awkward with each other after breaking up, but it seemed like they were getting married.

While I thought it seemed a bit hasty, I also thought that if they were in love, marrying early wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. And in reality, it wasn’t that hasty. While Papi Joah was a bit younger, Tex was now in his thirties.

Even so, I was curious about the backstory that led them to marriage. After all, getting married isn’t a light decision. There must have been some circumstances that led to this.

The last memories I had were of a couple going through a boredom phase, and now it felt like things had escalated to the point of marriage.

Just then, as if she saw me read the message, I received another message from Papi Joah who sent the mobile invitation.

– Jeong Soo-hee: Mollru, how have you been? I wanted to give you the invitation in person, but it hasn’t been easy to meet up TT

– I Ji-eun: Congratulations on your marriage! Haha

We exchanged the usual pleasantries. In response to her saying that she hoped I could attend if time allowed, I promised I’d come. For such a big event, there’s no way I wouldn’t attend if I had no work. After all, I was connected to both the groom and the bride!

After a brief exchange of messages, I asked how they were able to get married.

– Jeong Soo-hee: Ah, that… should we talk about it when we meet?

With Papi Joah saying she would come over, the backstory began to unravel.

*

“It’s all thanks to you, Mollru.”

“Huh?”

In a quiet cafe, I could only show confusion at Papi Joah’s sudden remark. Apparently, I had a significant influence on their decision to marry, but what did I do?

“You recommended living together, remember?”

“I… I did?”

Could it really be because of that? It was just a suggested solution for couples in love, and I never imagined it would lead to marriage.

The saying goes that surprise births kill, and this seemed to be true. A small snowball rolling turned into a massive snowball of marriage.

In response to my question about living together, Papi Joah quickly moved to Busan where Tex was. The cohabitation hadn’t been planned, but it clearly had its benefits.

“There were challenges while living together… but it also allowed us to see new sides of each other, really.”

Their lifestyles were completely different. Not everything could align perfectly. But they managed to adjust to their mismatches while continuing their cohabitation.

As her once single-person home became a shared space, they decided to marry.

“After living together once, I realized I didn’t want to be alone anymore. If we continue living like this, I thought we might as well sort everything out and combine our lives.”

While there are couples that crumble after seeing each other’s true colors while living together, it seemed this wasn’t the case for them. Rather than breaking apart, their bond had strengthened.

“It’s all thanks to you, Mollru. By suggesting we live together, we ended up close… discovering aspects of each other we never knew. We confirmed our true feelings for one another.”

“Is that so?”

I nodded politely, letting her continue her story.

“If I hadn’t consulted with you back then, I probably would have still been suffering silently, unable to express myself to Tex, and we might have grown distant. We might have even broken up.”

“Hmm, isn’t that a bit of an exaggeration? Without living together, I think you both would have done fine.”

“No! This is all thanks to you!”

They say that love makes a woman more beautiful. As Papi Joah spoke brightly, her face radiated happiness, and I unconsciously nodded in agreement.

“By living together, receiving all his love, and now getting married… Hehe…”

Papi Joah let out a meaningful chuckle. Now that I think about it, was her reason for living together to feel Tex’s love more directly? It seems like they resolved things while living together.

…How did he resolve it? The answer was obvious. What do young couples do when living together the most? I had heard they didn’t discriminate between night and day. Since I had no experience in that area, it felt like an urban legend to me.

Imagining that for a moment caused my ears to flush red. Even after growing older and more time passing, I felt like I never built immunity against these kinds of stories.

Just then, a hypothesis flashed through my mind.

Wait, then could it be? Could the reason for such an abrupt marriage be…?

Debating whether to ask, I nervously inquired.

“Um, you guys aren’t rushing into this, right?”

“Rushing?”

“The reason for getting married so suddenly…”

Papi Joah, who initially didn’t understand the term “rushing,” blushed fiercely upon hearing “premarital speed,” finally grasping my question.

“W-what are you talking about? That’s impossible.”

“Just checking… Recently, there are people who rush things.”

Unlike the old days when premarital relations were taboo and premarital pregnancies were discreet, today’s society is much more open, and sexual relations happen regularly between men and women.

With that, premarital pregnancies also became more common. Although people don’t usually mention it directly, they often express it indirectly as “rushing.”

Anyway, since she denied it, that was good to know. If she were pregnant, she needed to take proper care of herself, and it wouldn’t make sense for a pregnant woman to be out dressed so lightly.

“Anyway… If nothing happens on the wedding day, please be sure to come. You are practically the one who connected us,” she urged.

“How did it come to this…”

I reluctantly nodded at Papi Joah’s heartfelt request. It seemed I had been unexpectedly treated as a love cupid connecting the two of them, and I secretly felt good about it.

However, that aside, there was no escaping the feeling of emptiness in my side. I couldn’t even handle my own affairs, let alone bring people together…

The brightly smiling Papi Joah only amplified my loneliness as the evening wore on.
