Chapter 19: Returning to the Primordial World – The Ten Suns in the Sky

The middle-aged man laughed bitterly, his voice dripping with hatred. “Exterminate my clan? My clan has long been annihilated by you! Today, you, the Dog Emperor, shall meet your end!”

A thunderous roar echoed as a terrifying aura erupted from the man, instantly sending the general in blood-red armour staggering backwards. With a single step, the man launched himself toward the emperor seated on the dragon throne.

The sudden attack shocked the court officials, their exclamations of disbelief filling the hall. “A Martial Grandmaster? How did such a person infiltrate the palace?” one minister muttered, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Despite the chaos, the elderly emperor remained calm, his frail figure unmoving. He gazed at the attacker with half-closed eyes and a faint smile. His voice, though weak, carried a chill that silenced the room. “Apprehend him alive. I want to know who sent him to challenge my authority. Such audacity!”

“At your command, Your Majesty,” replied the Daoist-robed man standing beside the emperor. His gaze turned icy as he sprang into action, drawing a three-foot-long sword. With a swift stroke, the blade tore through the air, distorting the void as a web of sword energy descended upon the attacker.

In the corner of the hall, Xia Tian watched the scene unfold. His expression remained impassive as he observed the would-be assassin.

“A mere Martial Grandmaster dares an assassination attempt on the emperor in the palace?” Xia Tian murmured to himself, shaking his head. Despite the dynasty’s decline, the imperial court still housed numerous martial experts, including the Daoist beside the emperor—a Martial Great Grandmaster, whose strength rivalled that of a Nascent Soul cultivator.

As expected, the assailant was swiftly subdued. Within moments, he was battered into submission and held aloft by the Daoist, his life hanging by a thread.

Suddenly, a tremor resonated within Xia Tian’s mind as the Gate to the Primordial World quivered. From its depths emerged a white jade-like book.

“Hetu and Luoshu? What’s happening?” Xia Tian’s expression shifted as he realised the significance of this phenomenon. His gaze swept across the hall before he discreetly produced a humanoid figure—a meticulously crafted avatar. Infusing it with a drop of his blood, the avatar sprang to life, transforming into a perfect replica of Xia Tian.

Using this avatar to remain in the hall, Xia Tian’s true form silently disappeared, reappearing within his secluded chamber. The avatar, indistinguishable from the original, continued to interact with the outside world as if nothing had happened.

Within his chamber, Xia Tian focused on the Gate to the Primordial World. The disturbance of the Hetu and Luoshu—a supreme treasure of the Yao Clan’s Heavenly Court—indicated a significant crisis. He had left this treasure in the Human Clan’s sacred temple for safekeeping before departing the Primordial World. The treasure served as a beacon; in times of dire need, the Human Clan could invoke it to summon Xia Tian.

Now, the signal was unmistakable: the Human Clan was in grave danger.

Without hesitation, Xia Tian activated the gate. His soul left his mortal vessel, passing through the swirling chaos of the primordial void. Darkness enveloped him briefly before his eyes opened to the infinite expanse of the Primordial World.

The moment Xia Tian returned, the world instinctively acknowledged the re-emergence of the Golden Crow Crown Prince. Across the Primordial World, whispers of his existence reawakened, as though his presence had never waned.

Standing in the endless chaos, Xia Tian marvelled at the boundless power coursing through his primordial body. Compared to this form, his Earth Immortal body in the Jiuzhou world seemed as insignificant as an ant. While both were categorised as immortal, the gulf between them was staggering.

A Golden Immortal like Xia Tian was equivalent to an entire cosmos, with power capable of shaking realms spanning countless light-years. By contrast, an Earth Immortal was but a single star—a minuscule fragment within the vast universe.

Moreover, as a Golden Crow in the “top-tier” Primordial World, Xia Tian’s potential far surpassed ordinary immortals. The lowest achievement for his lineage was the rank of Innate Dao Lord, and many Golden Crows had ascended to become Daluo Dao Ancestors.

For Xia Tian, progressing from Golden Immortal to Innate Dao Lord was a given; only the final step to Daluo presented a challenge. Yet, with sufficient time, even that hurdle could be overcome. His Dao would eventually span the multiverse, becoming a new law etched into existence.

As Xia Tian stepped out of the Hetu and Luoshu, he was greeted by an oppressive heat. Although it posed no threat to him, the aura carried a chilling familiarity—the unmistakable essence of the Golden Crow.

He extended his senses, peering beyond the temple into the heavens. There, suspended in the vast Primordial sky, were nine blazing suns alongside the original, their radiant flames scorching the earth below. Rivers evaporated, lands were laid to waste, and the world itself seemed engulfed in a sea of golden fire.

The devastation was unparalleled. Solar flames birthed in the void consumed everything, transforming the world into a fiery hellscape.

Xia Tian’s face darkened. He recognised the event immediately: this was the legendary Ten Suns in the Sky saga of the Primordial World.

[Ten Suns in the Sky (十日横空, Shí Rì Héng Kōng): A primordial legend where ten suns appeared in the sky simultaneously, wreaking havoc on the world until they were subdued.]
