Although Loki didn't believe it yet, he had planted the seeds of doubt and planned to ask his mother about it when he returned.
At this moment, the natural thing to do was teach the mortal before him a lesson.
This mortal not only took Mjolnir but even mocked him.
As a high and mighty god, Loki could not accept such an insult.
"Your news is really unexpected." Loki said, his voice dripping with disdain.
"But even so, it cannot offset your guilt. Those who insult God will be punished by God!"
Loki raised his staff to continue attacking Jaxon, but Jaxon grabbed Loki and teleported them both to the suburbs.
Faced with Jaxon's teleportation ability, Loki was obviously startled. This mortal seemed to possess significant power.
"If you want to fight, do it here." Jaxon said, his voice calm yet imposing.
He wanted to use Loki to test his own strength. If he could defeat Loki, he could use the challenge card to fight Thor. Otherwise, if Thor's strength was beyond his imagination, using the card would be a waste.
Jaxon looked at Loki and said, "Now, we can start."
Loki, provoked and ridiculed repeatedly, was already furious.
As a high and mighty god, he would never tolerate such insolence.
"You lowly mortal, you will be punished by God for provoking me!" Loki roared, raising his staff to attack.
However, Loki's energy attacks were ineffective against Jaxon.
Jaxon observed calmly, slightly disappointed. Loki didn't seem very powerful. Apart from his superior physical fitness, his energy attacks were weak—barely Level 4, based on the system's classification.
"I guess Asgardians—and perhaps others in this world—don't rely much on energy attacks." Jaxon mused, recalling the combat tendencies of Asgardians like Thor and Hela. Even the Ancient One seemed more inclined toward melee magic than long-range spells.
Shrugging off Loki's feeble attacks, Jaxon sighed, "Turns out I'm also more of a melee fighter."
With a burst of speed, Jaxon launched forward, his punch landing squarely on Loki before the god could react.
Loki was thrown backward, tumbling across the ground. He groaned as he stood, disbelief etched on his face.
"This mortal… actually hurt me?"
Before Loki could recover, Jaxon closed the distance with ease, his shadow looming over the god. Loki managed to stand, roaring, "Enough! You and this planet will pay a heavy price!"
Jaxon smirked, deciding to recreate a certain classic scene.
Though Loki managed to summon a dagger with a flourish of magic, Jaxon's superior strength and speed overwhelmed him.
Seizing Loki by the ankle, Jaxon raised him into the air.
"Since you're a prince, I'll treat you a little differently." Jaxon said mockingly, "Oh wait… you're just a man."
Jaxon proceeded to slam Loki left and right, leaving two large craters in the ground. Loki lay motionless in one of them, his armor shattered, questioning his very existence.
Thor arrived on the scene, his face a mask of anger.
"How could you do this? He is the god of Asgard and my brother!"
Jaxon gestured to his wounds, "He tried to kill me. This was self-defense."
Thor hesitated, unsure how to respond.
Loki, still reeling, shouted weakly, "Heimdall, take me back!"
The energy of the Rainbow Bridge enveloped Loki, and Jaxon seized the opportunity to grab onto him.
Thor, realizing what was happening, shouted, "Heimdall, and me!"
But it was too late. Loki and Jaxon disappeared, leaving Thor behind.
---
When Loki and Jaxon arrived in Asgard, Loki shouted, "Heimdall, guards, capture this intruder!"
Jaxon stood tall, unfazed by the guards who rushed to the scene.
"Loki." Jaxon said, his tone mocking, "Stay here and play king of your little house. If you try to cause trouble on Earth again, I promise you'll regret it."
With that, Jaxon activated his teleportation ability, vanishing before Heimdall or the guards could react.
Loki, furious, clenched his fists, "You damned mortal! You will pay for your stupidity!"
When the guards arrived, they found only Loki, raging at the air.
Heimdall, observing everything from his post, muttered to himself, "This mortal… he didn't use the Rainbow Bridge. What sort of power does he possess?"
The warriors of Asgard, including Sif and others, arrived shortly afterward.
"Heimdall, what happened here?" Sif asked.
"A mortal broke into the Rainbow Bridge… and left before we could stop him," Heimdall replied, his eyes narrowing.
"A mortal capable of such feats? Who is he?"
Sif immediately said, "How dare a mortal trespass into Asgard? He must be punished! I will bring him back."
Heimdall remained unmoved and did not open the Bifrost to transmit their thoughts.
"You cannot leave at will without the king's order."
The group was helpless, unable to challenge Heimdall's authority. As the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge, his position was beyond reproach.
---
On the other side, Loki was seething with anger.
"I can't believe it." He muttered, "A mere mortal like Jaxon defeated me in my own courtyard."
"My dagger couldn't even pierce him... I need something stronger, something that will cut through anything."
Frustrated, Loki returned to the palace. Upon arrival, he found Odin deep in eternal sleep and Frigga at his side, watching over him.
Loki's demeanor instantly shifted. His fury was replaced with calm composure as he greeted her.
"Mother."
Frigga looked at him, her expression warm but reserved, "Loki."
"How is Father?" He asked.
"He has entered his eternal sleep. He needs time to recover."
Loki hesitated for a moment before asking, "Mother, do Thor and I... have a sister? The goddess of death, Hela?"
Frigga's eyes flickered with surprise. Mentioning Hela brought back memories she had tried to suppress. All records of Hela had been erased and sealed away by Odin, and even she rarely thought of her.
"How do you know about Hela?" She asked cautiously.
"That doesn't matter." Loki said, "What matters is whether she will return."
Frigga sighed, her shoulders heavy with the burden of Hela's story. Slowly, she recounted the tale of Odin's firstborn, her rise to power, and her subsequent imprisonment.
Loki absorbed every word, realizing how dangerous Hela truly was. She had been imprisoned by Odin at the height of his power. Now, with Odin weakened, her return seemed inevitable.
"Your father can no longer contain her for much longer." Frigga admitted.
Loki's mind raced. Hela was yet another obstacle to his claim to the throne. Between Thor, Jaxon, and now Hela, his path to power was fraught with enemies. He would have to eliminate them all.
Feigning concern, Loki said, "Mother, a mortal from Midgard recently invaded Asgard's courtyard. He stole Mjolnir and captured Thor. He claimed that Midgard no longer recognizes Asgard's authority."
Frigga's face grew pale, "Thor? Captured?"
"He has been stripped of his divine powers and is now just a man. Jaxon, this mortal, is powerful. He even took Mjolnir. I believe we should send someone to bring Thor back."
Loki's carefully crafted words convinced Frigga, who was genuinely worried about Thor's safety.
"Loki, you may lead a small team to retrieve Thor." She said, "But ensure that you resolve this peacefully. Avoid unnecessary conflict."
Loki smiled warmly, masking his true intentions, "Of course, Mother."
With Frigga's blessing, Loki now had the authority to act. In secret, he began refining a new dagger and reached out to the Frost Giants to set his plan into motion.
---
On Earth, Jaxon and Thor remained unaware of Loki's schemes.
Thor looked at Jaxon with confusion, "You... How did you get back here?"
Jaxon shrugged, "It looks like this place won't stay peaceful for long."
"If Loki comes with Asgard's warriors, what will you do?" Jaxon asked.
Thor scowled, frustration etched on his face, "This is what happens when you meddle with gods. You should have thought this through."
Jaxon smiled, "It seems you're beginning to understand some things."
"But I don't think I've done anything wrong." Jaxon continued, "Loki is unfit to rule the Nine Realms. Letting him sit on the throne would bring disaster to Asgard and Midgard alike."
Thor didn't respond. Deep down, he couldn't deny Jaxon's words. The mortal's strength and conviction made him a formidable ally—or enemy.
___
Loki's plan was meticulously crafted.
First, he forged a new dagger infused with deadly magic, designed specifically to deal with Jaxon.
Second, he coordinated with the Frost Giants, arranging for them to ambush Thor during the chaos.
If all went well, Thor would perish, and Loki could eliminate Jaxon without interference. To cement his plans, he would manipulate events to paint himself as a hero. Upon returning to Asgard, he would kill Laufey under the guise of saving Odin, securing his place as the rightful king.
Confident in his schemes, Loki rallied Asgardian warriors, armed with his most dangerous weapon—the Destroyer.
"Yesterday." Loki declared to his troops, "A mortal from Midgard dared to trespass in Asgard! He stole Mjolnir and captured Thor. We must respond!"
"For Asgard!" The warriors roared.
Meanwhile, Sif and Thor's companions felt uneasy. Loki's sudden eagerness to "rescue" Thor seemed suspicious. But Sif's temper flared at the thought of Thor's predicament. She was determined to bring him back, no matter the cost.
With Frigga's approval, Loki led his forces to the Rainbow Bridge. Heimdall, ever watchful, cautioned him, "Be careful not to stir unnecessary conflict."
Loki, holding Gungnir, smirked, "Heimdall, you are loyal to Asgard. But remember, I am king now. Open the bridge."
Reluctantly, Heimdall obeyed, unaware of Loki's true intentions.
