I Am Hades, Lord of the Underworld!

Chapter 258: Chapter 258: The God of the Black Sea, Pontus's Schemes and Madness, Mnemosyne's Helplessness!

Hestia left with the Book of Memories in hand.

Was it easy?

Very easy.

After Hestia left, Mnemosyne's expression turned extremely grim. In a low, almost snarling whisper, she muttered, "Why? Why? What exactly does Hestia know? No, no! What does Hades know?"

Erebus and Nyx.

The Black Sea.

Just from these words alone, Mnemosyne knew that her plans had been discovered. How much was known, though, remained unclear.

However, Mnemosyne was certain of one thing: Today, she either had to hand over the Book of Memories and let Hestia leave with a smile, or she would die here and have the book taken from her.

There was no third option.

As for her backer?

Don't be ridiculous! Her backer couldn't save her at all. Hestia had made that abundantly clear—Erebus and Nyx were watching from behind.

"Damn it! Why?"

Mnemosyne cursed silently, "How did Hades find out? It's impossible! Everything was under control, nothing was exposed!"

Moreover, Mnemosyne felt a surge of disgust as she thought about the actions of the ancient god couple, Erebus and Nyx. They were ancient gods, two of the eight supreme ancient gods! What were they doing? Spoiling Hades like this? Were they insane? They even backed Hestia?

Hestia's message had been simple: Hypnos and Thanatos had told her, which meant that Mnemosyne should know, too—her backers were Erebus and Nyx. There was no one coming to save her.

The second message was even simpler: Black Sea, whatever you're doing there, I know about it.

And if Mnemosyne tried to play dead and pretend she didn't know anything?

Hehehe~~~

That would make things even easier. Mnemosyne's secrets couldn't see the light of day, just like Rhea's. In the Underworld, everything could be discussed, but outside? It wouldn't end well.

Because of this, even if Mnemosyne were to die, it wouldn't matter. The Underworld would simply say they discovered a remnant of the Twelve Titans and killed her. It would be perfectly reasonable.

Mnemosyne had no doubt that if she dared refuse, no one would come to save her.

Whether it was Zeus or Pontus...

What awaited her would be the wrath of the Underworld gods, led by Aether, the newly ascended God-King of the Underworld. They wouldn't hesitate to kill her to show the gods how powerful Aether had become.

Don't doubt it! Don't deny it! There was no need for any doubts!

"Mnemosyne."

A cold, indifferent voice called out, and a shadowy figure began to materialize before her. Mnemosyne looked up at the figure.

It was Pontus, the God of the Black Sea!

As one of the original eight ancient gods, Pontus's status and divine power were undeniable.

Moreover, Mnemosyne was essentially a subordinate of Pontus. Everything she did was under Pontus's orders—she was little more than a dog he kept.

As for betrayal? Don't be ridiculous!

If Pontus and Mnemosyne's actions were exposed, Pontus, as the God of the Black Sea and one of the eight ancient gods, wouldn't be affected.

But Mnemosyne? That would be a different story! She would be dead, truly dead. Even her mother, the Earth Goddess, wouldn't be able to protect her.

When the other Titans died, they left behind a crystal of their essence, waiting for time to restore them. But if Mnemosyne were to die, it would be true death—her soul utterly destroyed, even her essence crystal would be crushed.

Don't doubt it! No one would hold back against her.

"Lord Pontus," Mnemosyne spoke softly, her voice trembling. "My lord, it seems the Underworld has become aware of your plans. If we continue..."

"No matter!"

Pontus's voice was cold and indifferent as he replied, "Continue with the plan. You don't need to worry about anything else. Hades is just a mere King of the Underworld, not worth mentioning!"

"Remember, Mnemosyne, you have no right to refuse!"

With that, Pontus's shadowy figure faded away, his cold voice lingering in the air.

"Sigh..."

Mnemosyne sighed in resignation. She truly didn't know what to say or even what she could say. It was all so utterly hopeless!

What could she say?

Nothing!

It wasn't a joke—Pontus might be indifferent to the outcome, but if something went wrong, what about her?

And besides! If Hades already knew the plan, and Pontus still insisted on going down this path, what then? If their actions were exposed, not even her mother, the Earth Goddess, would stand by her.

Hades not worth mentioning? When Kronos smashed your head into the ground back then, you behaved yourself, didn't you? And now you think you're all that? Hades is nothing? Erebus and Nyx are watching you!

"Sigh..."

Mnemosyne sighed again, feeling a deep sense of despair. How had she ended up at the center of such a storm?

Even worse...

"Zeus..." Mnemosyne turned her gaze toward the distance and muttered to herself, "What comes next will be the real trouble. If Zeus does something, all my plans will fail."

Mnemosyne felt a headache brewing. It was truly hopeless!

She couldn't afford to offend anyone—whether it was the Underworld, Pontus, or even Zeus. The Underworld? Don't be ridiculous! Ever since Kronos's fall, not even Pontus, her backer, could save her if a real fight broke out. The rules had changed, and unlike in Kronos's time, no one now restrained the eight ancient gods. They wouldn't intervene lightly, nor would they attack ordinary gods.

But if Pontus did make a move, the outcome would be inevitable!

Yet! She couldn't offend the Underworld or Pontus. And what about Zeus?
