Chapter 22: Confrontation with the Law
After I said my piece, I walked over to a chair and sat down, staring at Lin Yang, who lay on the floor, glaring at me. "You bastard! You're the reason I'm in this condition! You have to take responsibility and let go of Yin Ren Tang and Su Xin right now!"
A short while later, the police burst into the room, led by a female officer—Chen Meng, another heroine in this chaotic scene.
I thought to myself, Koneka, activate initial voice.
Koneka responded, Okay, host.
In my mind, I muttered, Ah, here comes the naïve one pretending to be innocent, but she has a taste for rough sex and forcing her way through life. She may be a police officer, but she's a fool. If you ask her who's stronger—mind or muscle—she'd pick muscle every time. She was once in special forces but was forced out due to her own stupidity. She claims political pressure was the reason, but really, she just doesn't think things through. Now she uses her connections to join the police, convinced she can do anything.
I looked at her with a smile as she demanded, "What's going on here?"
One of the young masters piped up, "Miss Chen, we're having a party to celebrate our graduation. One of our classmates brought in this mentally unstable man. We told him he could join, but he was supposed to keep the peace. Instead, he spilled wine on Young Master Wu from the second-rate family and started attacking anyone who tried to intervene."
Chen Meng narrowed her eyes. "Then why is this person here?" She pointed at me. "I don't think he goes to any university."
Someone chimed in, "Ma'am, don't say that! He completed his degree at the age of fifteen! Everyone in Dragon Country knows Young Master Ye King is a prodigy—smarter than most kids his age."
I added, "I came here to see what was happening, so I just stopped by for a moment."
Chen Meng shot back, "I don't care what you all say. You're all going to jail!" She turned to her team and ordered, "Go and arrest all of them!"
The officers were taken aback, especially at the thought of arresting Young Master Ye King. One officer pleaded, "Ma'am, please don't do this! We can't live in this country if you go through with it!"
As the officers started crying, Chen Meng's expression shifted from authority to shock. She hadn't expected her team to react this way.
"Okay, don't arrest him," she said, her tone softening. "I'll take him in myself." She walked toward me with determination.
