HxH: Noah’s Heart

Chapter 35: Chapter 35: Mutation X Experiment Core

Watching Noah descending from above, Rami roared in anger. His other arm swept horizontally like a massive tree trunk, creating a gust of wind that blew Noah's hair and clothes backward.

In mid-air, Noah adjusted his posture, landed with both legs and immediately stepped onto Rami's arm.

The force of his descent, combined with Noah's own strength, kicked Rami off balance, causing him to fall backward to the ground.

"Go and rescue Ashu, see how badly he's injured." Landing on the ground, Noah shouted to Wood, who was closest to him.

Then, with a swift kick, he dashed toward the fallen Rami like a whirlwind.

Although he possessed a strong aura, it was scattered and disorganized. Strictly speaking, he couldn't even perform basic "nen" properly.

He seemed more like a puppet forcefully infused with aura. What complicated matters was Rami's peculiar body, which could resist Noah's attacks even without aura enhancement.

What exactly was this guy?

As he charged forward, Noah had already made a rough estimate of Rami's strength.

Rami, who had fallen to the ground, roared once more.

He arched his legs in an agile motion completely at odds with his massive body, springing up from his half-crouched position.

His blood-red eyes locked onto Noah, and his body crouched even lower.

"Do you want to charge at me?" Noah's eyes narrowed as he noticed Rami's movements.

As Noah's words fell, Rami's tightly coiled legs relaxed, and he charged toward Noah like a raging bull.

In an instant, Noah halted his charge and agilely sidestepped.

Just as Rami and Noah were about to pass each other, Rami's arm suddenly swung to the side, attacking Noah like a swinging hammer.

Noah's body, which had maintained high concentration, bent backward, and Rami's arm barely grazed Noah's nose, creating a rush of air that tousled his hair.

At the moment Rami's arm extended backward to a critical point, Noah's body sprang back like a coiled spring. His hands transformed into razor-sharp claws in an instant, striking Rami's arm like lightning.

Upon impact, Noah felt like he wasn't facing a human arm but a solid rock. This strike only left a minor scratch on Rami's arm.

"Even if it's steel, I'll pierce through it!" Noah snorted, gathering aura into his hands. His hands then turned into a blur, striking the same spot repeatedly in a split second.

Squish!

Under Noah's fierce and precise assault, Rami's rock-hard skin was finally breached, leaving a gaping wound deep enough to expose the bone. Hot blood gushed out of the wound, staining the ground crimson.

"Roar!"

Rami had no time to react as he felt excruciating pain in his arm.

This pain stimulated his brain's nerves, causing him to restrain his impulse to charge forward. He swiftly turned around, and his other hand swung toward Noah.

Boom!

The ground cracked again as Noah agilely dodged Rami's attack, leaping behind him.

With a flick of his hand to shake off the blood, creating bright red blossoms on the ground, Noah stared coldly at Rami.

"The nerves in your right hand have been damaged; now it's your left hand's turn."

"Awakening nen but not knowing how to use it, resorting to a fighting style like a beast. You're too weak." At this moment, in Noah's eyes, Rami was nothing more than a wild beast that relied on physical strength and brute force, not worth mentioning.

Only at this moment did Noah realize that he now possessed the formidable strength to crush an average Nen user.

If it were his former self facing an opponent like Rami, the outcome wouldn't be any better than Ashu's.

Rami slowly turned around, having lost his sanity.

His eyes were bloodshot, saliva dripped from his mouth, and there was nothing left in his mind except for slaughter.

Kill! Kill everything in sight! Destroy everything!

"Roarrrrr!"

Looking up, Rami let out a deafening roar, and the ear-piercing soundwaves radiated from him, causing even Noah to instinctively narrow his eyes.

On the other side, Jerl and the others, who were carefully moving Ashu out of the rubble, subconsciously covered their ears, their faces showing signs of pain.

Even Shizuku on the rooftop crouched down tightly, covering her ears.

"It seems he has completely lost his sanity." Watching the crazed screaming Rami, Noah was about to step forward to deal with him.

Suddenly!

Thud!

Noah felt an inexplicable pain in his heart, as if something was expanding inside his heart, and the heartbeat was clearly audible in his own ears.

"Ugh."

Clutching his chest, Noah's legs gave way, and he knelt on the ground.

Thud!

Thud!

His heart beat like a drum, and each beat brought a wave of pain. Noah could clearly feel that something seemed to be awakening inside his heart.

And just as Noah collapsed to his knees, Rami, who had been screaming, also stopped at the same time.

His large body suddenly trembled violently, as if layer by layer of skin was being peeled off, revealing the flesh inside.

The deep red in his eyes gradually faded, and Rami's consciousness slowly returned.

He still remembered everything that had just happened. At this moment, he struggled to shift his gaze to Noah, who was kneeling opposite him.

On Noah, he felt unprecedented pressure, as if a subject were meeting a king.

It was this oppressive feeling that helped him regain consciousness, but at the same time, it also caused his body to gradually disintegrate.

"You… you… you are… you are the… the experimental core!" With a hoarse voice, Rami let out one last roar, and his body began to disintegrate visibly, turning into a puddle of blood in just a few seconds.

The experimental core!

In the midst of excruciating pain, Noah could only repeat it in his mind. Some fragmented memories suddenly emerged in his mind.

Unable to examine those memories, the intense pain spreading from his heart to his whole body made him scream in agony, and he lost consciousness as his vision darkened.

"What's going on?" Jerl and the others had not yet recovered from the sudden turn of events and were staring blankly at everything that was happening.

In the end, it was Yan who reacted first.

He pushed Wood and shouted, "Never mind what's going on. Quickly, help Noah up. Let's leave here first. What about the little girl?"

As he spoke, Yan saw a small figure running out of a nearby house, heading towards them.
