Chapter 24: Being Plotted

Voldemort POV

Since he was young, he knew he was different from others. He could talk to snakes, something no one else could do. He could even read people's thoughts just by looking into their eyes. On top of that, he could do extraordinary things like making objects float.

That's why he kept a low profile and never showed his abilities to adults. The only ones who knew about his powers were the children in the orphanage. Even the adults began to grow wary of him, or more accurately, afraid.

But everything changed one day when he received a letter from Hogwarts, and Professor Dumbledore came to visit him. He was told that he wasn't the only one who was special. The abilities he had been using were actually magic, and there were many other wizards living in hiding all over the world.

At Hogwarts, people were divided by blood status, and he became a victim of prejudice because of his name, Tom Marvolo Riddle. He despised being looked down upon and became obsessed with blood purity. He began researching family records at Hogwarts, hoping to find a connection to the Riddle family. But eventually, he had to face the truth: his father had never been a wizard.

But the person who was a wizard was his mother. He despised her because she was weak and chose death over living for her own child. He resumed his search, and this time he discovered something: Marvolo Gaunt had attended Hogwarts. At last, he found his true family—the Gaunts. He also tracked down his father and killed him. Why? Because he was a maniac who hated his Muggle side—a psychotic criminal.

At Hogwarts, his time wasn't always bright. He was ridiculed, but over time, people began to see him differently. He started displaying his abilities, such as Parseltongue, to his inner circle. He had everything others desired—his looks could even rival those of the Black family, known for their beauty among wizards. He was intelligent, outshining the Ravenclaws, smooth-talking, skilled at making friends, and even managed to stay on the good side of the teachers. A natural Legilimens, and with all these traits combined, he became the most popular student at Hogwarts.

The only thing he lacked was empathy and love. He never understood love, no matter how many people told him or showed him what it was like. This was because he was the product of a love potion. Those conceived through the use of a love potion could never truly comprehend love.

It becomes even more dangerous if the person who drank the potion was a man and also a Muggle. If the one who drank the potion had been a witch, then Voldemort likely wouldn't have been cursed with a lack of empathy and love.

He began gathering followers, and long story short, he finally launched his attack in the 1970s—more than 20 years after finishing his studies at Hogwarts. At first, he targeted Muggle society, and their secrecy was almost exposed. But then the Aurors intervened, rescuing the situation and modifying their memories.

Although he had launched many attacks, Voldemort never targeted Wool's Orphanage because he considered it his way of showing gratitude for being raised there for free. "You once showed compassion to this orphan," he thought, "and now, Lord Voldemort has shown mercy by sparing Wool's Orphanage."

Afterward, his forces began targeting Muggle-borns and half-bloods. The real turning point came when he attacked pure-blood families because they had rejected him.

This led to a full-scale war, and they nearly won until one day, Voldemort was defeated by Harry James Potter. He tried to regain a body using the Philosopher's Stone but failed, due to the protection magic Harry's mother left behind.

After Peter Pettigrew, also known as Wormtail, returned to him, Voldemort began plotting against Harry Potter once more, eventually succeeding in regaining a stronger body.

There was something Voldemort didn't understand during his duel with Harry, so he sought the prophecy that spoke of their connection.

But his thoughts were interrupted by his followers reporting back from the Wizengamot.

"What?" Voldemort was surprised. "Are you sure he's been released?"

"Yes, my Lord. Sirius Black has been found not guilty."

"Crucio!" Voldemort cursed the informer. "Why didn't you stop them?""

"Arghhhh..." Voldemort released the spell. "My Lord, there were only a few of us present. Members like Crabbe, Goyle, Malfoy, and Nott weren't there. So Sirius won easily because no one from our side was there to oppose him."

Hearing this, Voldemort grew even angrier and ordered Malfoy to come meet him.

"Crucio..." Voldemort cast the curse as soon as Lucius Malfoy appeared.

"My Lord... I... didn't do... anything wrong," said Lucius, wincing in pain. Voldemort, enraged, continued torturing him for a minute before stopping, not wanting Lucius to end up insane like the Longbottoms.

"You didn't do anything wrong?" Voldemort asked coldly.

"Yes, my Lord, everything was going according to plan, then suddenly you became angry," Malfoy replied, sweat forming on his forehead.

"Do you know Sirius Black has been released? He was found not guilty, and now our plan has failed," Voldemort revealed in a menacing tone.

"What? How is that possible? I received no news," Lucius exclaimed, shocked.

His plan had been to lead Harry to the Department of Mysteries and retrieve the prophecy. Little did he know that the prophecy was actually a trap set by Ancient Magic, which had decided that Voldemort needed to be eliminated.

Ancient Magic differs from normal magic, it is alive and has its own thoughts and will. People believed prophecies were set in stone, but in truth, Ancient Magic is a living force and the reason why people are born with magical abilities.

Author Notes: I didn't like prophecy or predicting something because of what happen to my country. People were killed after they went to shaman, the innocence person was tortured before he died. That is why in this story prophecy mean is the trick from ancient magic.

For example Voldemort had crossed the line, so ancient magic decided to punish him by tricking him into believing his demise.
