NOVEL NEXT Chapter 11: Update
Hello, author here !
I apologize for the lack of content these last few days, and for the false hope this "chapter" certainly made you feel. And before you start to worry about this book being dropped... fear not for I intend to finish it, though it might take a long time.
In short, last week was pretty bad for me and I had no motivation to write, no motivation to do anything in fact.
But anyways, you are here for a HP fanfiction, not to hear me cry or complain, so here are the news :
Arthur and Nick are finally set to go to Hogwarts...and I have a pretty big problem.
I started this story just because I could and because I had some ideas. Problem is that I literally just have a check list of what to put in every volume, but I have to develop everything else on the spot. And the first and second year at Hogwarts are almost empty, at least, not full enough to fill more than one or two chapter for each of these years.
Third year and above will feature the long awaited exploration of the surrounding of Hogwarts, the plot of Hogwarts Legacy and the exploration of the world in general, there is a lot to write about. But before that, Arthur and Nick are just too weak to do anything outside of Hogwarts.
Unlike the late 20th century period with the Harry Potter plot that give a lot to write about, even inside the castle itself, the late 19th century is pretty...empty.
It gives me an immense amount of freedom and at the same time it's a big problem because of my character's personality as someone who avoids problems and bothersome situations like the plague especially since he doesn't have much strength in the first years.
He is not a foolish Gryffindor, he won't jump into dangerous situations. There already isn't much going on in this time period before the Hogwarts Legacy plot begins, and the few things that could happen definitely wouldn't be encountered by Arthur (though Nick might drag him into them...).
I developed his childhood quite a lot, and I don't want his first two years at Hogwarts to just be covered in two chapters with timeskips.
To be honest, the first year will be pretty long because I have to explain a lot of things about magic, how some things work, the sorting and the revelations it will bring, the first classes, Arthur's social life and daily life with his plans. But when you take a closer look, all that takes place in the first month, and a school year lasts 9-10 months, which means that after excitement of the beginning of the school year, nothing really happens.
The second year though, is really empty except for the duelling practice, which bothers me a lot.
So I need ideas since I have to write something. Nothing groundbreaking or major, but enough to fill up the void of his first and second year at Hogwarts, or even something that can be used again after a few years. From the third year and above I have ideas, still, help is also welcomed for this part of the story as well.

Also, I think my writting style could be improved (the number of time i use "would" in every chapter is pretty high) if you have anything to say about that, don't hesitate to give me some tips !
