How to Tame My Beastly Husband

Chapter 6 - Not Again

How to Tame My Beastly Husband — Chapter 6. Test of Innocence

This chapter has been re-worked by Regan, we have picked up the novel from chapter 64.

The first major decision of her new life happened very quickly. A practitioner was summoned to the house of the Marquis of Carnesis, a man in his early thirties with shining brown hair and dark eyebrows. When he heard Annette’s odd request, at first he doubted his ears.

“What?” He asked, after a moment of silence. “What are you…what kind of treatment do you want?”

His eyes begged her to immediately withdraw her request. It was a very embarrassing thing to ask. But Annette had made up her mind. Calmly, she repeated herself.

“That…I heard there were practitioners that can prove one’s innocence. On the gynecological side. Could you refer me to someone like that in your circle? I would prefer a female practitioner.”

On the surface, she was serene, but inside she was shaking with shame. Her hands gripped the arms of her chair so hard, her knuckles were white. She would have liked nothing better than to immediately withdraw what she had said and send this man away, but she knew this was her only choice.

Raphael hated her so much, he would never believe her even if she protested day and night. She had no choice but to give him evidence, with the testimony of a practitioner. If she didn’t try to clear the charges against her herself, no one else would. Doors only opened for those brave enough to knock.

That was the lesson Annette had learned in her last life.

Annette bit her lips hard, remembering the last five years she had suffered. Better to bear a few moments of shame than to repeat that misfortune.

“Well, madam. If you insist….” The practitioner began, when it became clear Annette was not going to withdraw her request. He had broken out into a cold sweat, and Annette had just leaned forward to hear whatever he was about to tell her when the door of the drawing room suddenly burst unceremoniously open.

Bang!!

“OH!”

Surprised by the loud noise, the practitioner let out a yelp. His professional expression had vanished and he seemed to be folding in on himself in terror. Annette was just as surprised. Her eyes widened as she saw the intruder.

“Raphael? What are you doing here?”

It must not have been long since he woke up; Raphael strode in wearing a simple white shirt and pants. His well-trained muscles were apparent under the thin fabric. With his tall and muscular build, he was instantly threatening.

His blue eyes flashed angrily as he moved between the practitioner and Annette.

“Has the test been done yet?” He growled.

“Yes. Yes? What, what kind of test?”

The practitioner was so terrified, he didn’t know what to say, and started stuttering. Raphael’s face contorted with rage.

“You damned fucker! Did you do it already, or not?” He demanded, his teeth bared.

“No! I didn’t, Your Highness, I swear to God! I–I didn’t touch your wife at all!”

Only then did the man realize what Raphael meant, and started shaking so much, he nearly bit his own tongue. For a moment, Annette was worried there would be a fight. But fortunately Raphael saw the truth in the frightened man’s face, and strode toward him to collar him and escort him forcefully from the drawing room. The whole house seemed to vibrate with the force as the door slammed behind him.

Raphael really had a filthy temper.

It was lucky the mansion didn’t collapse, with all the slamming doors. Though, now that she recalled, he had broken the bedroom door yesterday. Accustomed to her boorish husband’s way, Annete sighed inside as she saw him approaching.

“What happened, Raphael? Is something wrong?”

Instead of answering, Raphael laid his hands on the armrests of her chair, so she could neither stand up or run away. He seemed to feel better if he blocked all her escape routes before he questioned her.

That handsome face looming above her was so frightening. He stared at her coldly.

“What are you trying to do, calling a practitioner?” He asked her suddenly, still angry. “Were you planning to forge a medical certificate? It’s a cunning move, Bavaria, but it’s not so easy to do.”

If she had been the previous Annette, she would have been humiliated by this. And she would have snapped back at him, trying to inflict that same misery. But she wasn’t like that anymore.

“It’s not like that, Raphael,” she said calmly. “Like I said yesterday, I can prove my innocence. If you’re worried I’ll have a certificate forged, you can call a practitioner you trust.”

“You would really go through such a test? A person like you, a Bavaria flower raised in a greenhouse, would endure such a shameful examination? Roll up your skirts and spread your legs for another man?” He spat. “Not even the dogs in the street believe that shit.”

His sarcasm was so frustrating. Then what the hell was she supposed to do? He wouldn’t believe her word, and even when she proposed some other proof, he still thought it was a trick. Annette knew that Raphael was a man with serious trust issues, but this behavior was borderline sickness.

But…he must have thought she meant to see a male doctor. Annette was Raphael’s wife, and he wouldn’t tolerate even the thought of her spreading her legs in front of another man. That was why he had hurried to stop her. Knowing he had trouble controlling his anger, Annette struggled to understand him. She wasn’t sure whether to be pleased with his jealousy or not.

Raphael was a brute and beast, but he had never intentionally hurt her. At least, not physically. Perhaps that was why she could never really hate him or fear him. He wasn’t that bad.

But since they were going to relive this relationship, she didn’t want to repeat their old patterns. Surely it would be all right to try to tame him.

“Raphael,” she said, using his name softly. Looking into his eyes, she slowly wrapped her arms around his neck. He did not pull away. He just watched her suspiciously, wondering what her next trick would be. Annette blinked, looking up at him and offering a small smile.

Lowering her eyes, she whispered a shy question.

“If you don’t want me to see a practitioner…do you want to look and see for yourself?”

His mouth dropped open. The angry heat in his eyes vanished, widening with shock, and for a moment his lips moved silently, unable to believe what he had just heard.

Annette was a little shocked at her own boldness. She had always been a conservative woman, and very modest, but it didn’t seem so bad if she got to see Raphael looking so embarrassed.

“We’re married now, aren’t we?” She whispered, lifting her eyes to his. “So you can look, you can roll up my skirt and I’ll spread my legs for you, so you can see it with your own eyes…”

She did not get to finish that sentence. Raphael bent and scooped her up. Her bedroom was only a few steps away, and he kicked the door open, heading straight for the bed.

“Ahhh!”

Annette, splayed on the bed, looked at him with wide eyes, but Raphael did not look at her. He was rapidly stripping off his clothes, ripping his shirt away and sliding his pants off. As soon as his trousers were off, his p3nis jerked upward, hard and swelling in all its glory.

His face expressionless, Raphael approached, and as his enormous shadow loomed over her, Annette was frightened. She could already guess what was to come. The first time in her previous life had been so terrible, she was terrified of it happening again.

Without meeting her eyes, Raphael immediately began to undress her. Initially, he tried to be careful, but he quickly grew impatient with her clothes. With a loud tearing noise, the seams of her clothes gave way, and Annette cried out and clung to his neck.

“Raphael…”

“What? Didn’t you ask me to look for myself? You’re not going to ask me to stop now, are you?” He drawled, and pulled off her panties. She was completely naked, and at this rate, it was going to be every bit as awful as last time.
