Episode 65
Episode 65
Mikhail was startled.
He had never let anyone touch him without his consent.
But the hand pulling him along now left him no choice.
“Baek Ji-hyuk. Come here, I’ll guide you.”
“Baek Ji-hyuk?”
“Why are you acting so strange today?”
Mikhail tried to shake off the hand pulling him, but his body was frozen, unable to move.
He couldn’t resist. The woman in front of him was someone incredibly important to him.
Baek Ji-hyuk looked at the woman before him. She had black hair and dark eyes, and she was beautiful.
Her confident gaze sparkled brightly.
She held Mikhail’s hand and began to heal him.
Mikhail felt an oddly familiar sensation from her healing.
“Lindsey?”
Though the woman looked completely different from Lindsey, her presence reminded him of her.
And her divine power was so similar.
The woman let go of Mikhail’s hand, finishing the healing without him realizing it. Mikhail reached out to her, feeling an inexplicable longing.
The woman tilted her head, puzzled by his behavior.
“You’re acting strange today.”
She patted Mikhail’s head as she spoke.
Mikhail froze at the unfamiliar, gentle touch.
“Once we defeat the boss, the gate will close. Just hang in there a little longer.”
The woman glanced away as she spoke, and Mikhail followed her gaze.
He saw people fighting. An unpleasant energy filled the air, and monsters were swarming around.
“The emergency healing is done, so let’s go help. Baek Ji-hyuk.”
“……”
“Come on, there are a lot of injured people.”
The woman grabbed his hand and led him.
Mikhail didn’t want to follow her.
A strong urge to grab her and run away surged through him.
Running from the battlefield wasn’t something he would normally do.
But again, his body didn’t obey his will. Mikhail’s face twisted in frustration.
His body moved after the woman.
Mikhail didn’t want to remember.
‘Don’t show me.’
He held the woman close and charged toward the monsters, aiming to help their injured comrades.
‘I remember now.’
That’s when the monsters started to rampage. The woman screamed, and Mikhail ran toward her.
‘Please, run away.’
But Mikhail couldn’t save her.
The woman fell, struck down by a monster. Blood splattered across his face.
Her hand reached out toward him, trembling, her breathing ragged. Her final smile was directed at him.
It was a terrible memory of a day long past.

Mikhail opened his eyes.
Now he remembered.
He realized why Lindsey had been bothering him so much. He touched his forehead.
Lindsey. Lindsey Kesion. Han Ji-yu…
Her name drifted through his mind. His stomach churned.
The weight of the overwhelming truth pressed down on him.
That’s why he had wanted to see Lindsey so badly. Why he couldn’t get her out of his mind.
The moment Lindsey returned to the Radian family, Han Ji-yu had returned as well. From that moment on, his heart had begun to race for Lindsey.
Han Ji-yu had often shared her miserable life with him.
“It wouldn’t happen, but I never want to go back.”
“If I went back with these memories, it would be unbearable…”
“My family and even my fiancé were always so cold to me.”
When he realized Han Ji-yu had returned to her dimension, he let her go.
Fortunately, his dimensional travel magic had worked. Even though it had cost him unimaginable pain.
Baek Ji-hyuk, who lost his body through dimensional travel, had been reborn as Mikhail.
However, due to the side effects of the dimensional travel, his soul had been torn apart, leaving him unable to feel emotions and wiping his memories.
That’s why he hadn’t remembered until now.
The most important woman in his life.
‘I should have remembered.’
No matter what, he should have remembered and protected her. Memories of the pain Lindsey had endured at the Kesion Marquisate resurfaced.
Mikhail slowly turned his gaze.
He sensed someone else in the room.
Raysis was entering.
“You seem to have had a nightmare.”
“……”
“It’s curious. I didn’t know you were the type to dream, let alone have nightmares.”
“What is it?”
“Are you afraid of something, brother?”
Raysis gazed down at Mikhail with calm eyes.
“Mikhail, there’s something you haven’t told me, right?”
Mikhail wiped away the cold sweat dripping from his forehead. He knew exactly what Raysis had come to ask.
“Is Lindsey alive?”
Mikhail took stock of his condition.
His energy was unstable.
It was probably because he had just recalled the moment of Han Ji-yu’s death. Ever since then, he had lived a life as good as dead. His stomach churned.
Raysis’s words barely registered in his ears. Everything other than Lindsey felt irrelevant.
The only emotions he could feel towards others were all negative—irritation, anger, or murderous intent.
Just like what he was feeling towards Raysis right now.
“Mikhail, I asked if Lindsey is alive.”
“Does it matter?”
“What?”
Raysis looked stunned, as if he had just been struck hard.
“I asked, does it matter?”
“Of course it matters!”
“She’s alive, right? Lindsey is alive. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be this stable.”
“…….”
“You’re being healed by Lindsey, aren’t you? Where is she? Where have you hidden her?”
Raysis shouted at Mikhail.
“You kidnapped her, didn’t you? That has to be it. Lindsey wouldn’t just disappear like that. Tell me where she is, now!”
Mikhail didn’t respond, but Raysis continued muttering like a madman.
Mikhail watched him with a cold, expressionless face.
“Yes, Lindsey is alive.”
Hahaha! Hahahaha!
Raysis’s laughter echoed throughout the room. A chilling coldness flickered in Mikhail’s eyes. He had to fight the urge to unleash his power and destroy everything around him.
Since regaining his memories, it had been harder to control his impulses.
“Do you really believe that? Get a grip, Raysis.”
“What?”
“Lindsey is dead. You, me, and the rest of this family—we all killed her.”
“…….”
“Stop denying reality. Face what you did. And then spend the rest of your life atoning for it.”
As Mikhail spoke, he understood Raysis. It had nothing to do with how terrible of a person he was.
Mikhail had acted similarly when Han Ji-yu died.
But what Raysis was doing now was wrong.
Mikhail had no intention of giving him hope.
Raysis needed to despair more. He needed to spend his life consumed by guilt over Lindsey’s death.
Upon hearing Mikhail’s words, the light vanished from Raysis’s eyes.
His face twisted in despair.
He covered his face with his hands. When his hands dropped, his face was a mask of perfect blankness.
“I apologize. I’ve embarrassed myself.”
“…….”
“Princess Rebecca has accepted our proposal. We’ll proceed with the plan at the New Year’s Festival.”
Mikhail nodded indifferently, staring out the window. He suppressed the urge to rush to Lindsey immediately.

Lindsey gazed up at the sky.
Rain was falling steadily.
It felt as though a hole had been punched in the sky. Lindsey dismounted her horse, stepping into the rain. She had come to meet a transcendent who knew how to perform dimensional travel magic.
Felia spoke to her.
“It would have been easier to take the carriage.”
“I didn’t want to draw attention.”
Felia looked at Lindsey with pity. Sometimes, Lindsey was overly conscious of others’ eyes on her.
It seemed she was worried that people at the marquisate would find it odd that she was seeking out a transcendent.
‘No one at the Riken estate would say anything about it.’
Considering her past, it was understandable.
‘She didn’t even know she was a noble.’
Felia nodded sympathetically.
The mansion they arrived at was old and had a gloomy atmosphere.
Felia knocked on the door. After a long while with no response, Lindsey, without hesitation, opened the door and stepped inside.
Inside was a handsome man with black hair.
The transcendent spoke in a curt tone.
“You lack manners.”
“You were here after all.”
“I hate bothersome things, so I pretended not to be.”
Lindsey looked at him incredulously. The man sighed and got up from his chair.
“So, you’re curious about dimensional travel?”
