Episode 61
Episode 61
Sylvia clenched her teeth.
“Prepare the carriage immediately.”
She had to go.
Leaving her area of confinement without permission was a serious crime, but she had no time to worry about that. She needed to find Crain and demand an explanation for what was happening.
But then—
“There’s no need for that.”
A familiar voice suddenly echoed behind her. Sylvia turned around, startled, and her eyes widened in shock.
“Raysis Kesion?”
What was he doing here?
Raysis stood before her, his face sharp and cold, eyes fixed on her with an icy stare.
“What brings you all the way to this remote place?” she asked, trying to mask her unease.
“Do you remember what you did to my sister?”
“Ha!”
Sylvia scoffed, her tone full of derision.
“Are you seriously bringing up something that happened so long ago? Now, of all times?”
“I asked if you remember what you did.”
Sylvia frowned, clearly irritated.
“Well, I don’t. Why should I remember something so trivial?”
Raysis’s expression hardened.
“Don’t you find it amusing that you’re here, lecturing me? I’ve heard plenty, you know.”
“…”
“I know exactly how cruel you were to Lindsey. I also know why she never wanted to leave the Radian family.”
Sylvia sneered, her laugh cold and mocking. She had every reason to treat Lindsey the way she had, and that reason stood right in front of her.
“Did you ever care about her at all? You want to know what I did? I treated her just like she was treated in the Kesion Marquisate.”
“…”
“I accused her of things she didn’t do, punished her, locked her up, and starved her. Just like you let happen.”
Sylvia’s voice grew more agitated as she spoke. The memory of Lindsey only made her mood worse.
What had she done wrong?
She had only treated Lindsey the way she deserved, given her filthy bloodline. And now Raysis dared to blame her, as if he hadn’t been just as indifferent toward Lindsey.
In her mind, she had done nothing wrong.
She had only given Lindsey the treatment she deserved.
‘She deserved everything she got!’
Sylvia had never regretted how she treated Lindsey.
‘Well, except for one thing.’
She regretted not dealing with Lindsey herself when she had the chance.
“You treated her no differently than I did,” Sylvia added, her voice sharp, calling attention to Raysis’s own guilt.
You’re just like me, she was saying.
And in a way, she was right.
Raysis didn’t try to deny it. Instead, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette.
He had picked up the habit after Lindsey’s death, and it had become something he couldn’t live without.
Sylvia suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. There was something eerie about Raysis’s face. It was still as beautiful as ever, yet it unsettled her.
“That’s why I’ll make sure we all pay for our sins,” Raysis said with a calm smile.
“Myself included.”
“What?”
Sylvia glared at him, then felt a pang of fear.
There was no one around except her, Raysis, and a few worthless maids.
She no longer had the protection of the Radian family knights, and even if there were a few guards, Raysis could easily handle them all.
“You’ve lived a shameless life, Sylvia.”
“S-Shameless life?”
“You’ve been caught dealing with black magicians. There’s solid proof that you treated them.”
Sylvia’s face twisted in confusion. She didn’t understand what Raysis was saying.
She thought her dealings with Princess Rebecca had resolved all of that.
Seeing her confusion, Raysis smirked, mocking her.
He would tell her the truth about what Rebecca had decided.
“Princess Rebecca no longer plans to overlook your actions.”
“Do my sons know about this? Do you really think you’ll get away with this?”
“Azhet Radian is in agreement.”
Raysis shook his head.
Sylvia had no idea that her son Azhet was nothing more than a loyal servant of Princess Rebecca.
Since she had been in contact with Crain and he had abandoned her, Sylvia’s fate was sealed. She had probably placed her hopes on Crain, believing he wouldn’t betray her.
She had been wrong.
‘She must’ve thought she was the only one who could heal Mikhail.’
Raysis clicked his tongue in pity. He knew better than anyone that trusting Crain was a mistake.
Crain was a man who would abandon his own children.
“Foolish woman.”
Crain had forgotten about Sylvia.
That was because Rosalyn had recently started healing Mikhail.
Recalling this, Raysis stared at Sylvia with a complex expression.
Mikhail had never said a word about it, but Raysis knew that Mikhail was enduring Rosalyn’s healing with maximum restraint.
When Mikhail received healing from Rosalyn, he appeared to be in pain. Rosalyn might not have noticed, but Raysis, who was sensitive to others’ emotions, had caught on immediately.
Mikhail was struggling to suppress the overwhelming killing intent that surged within him.
And thanks to that, Raysis had been able to come here.
“Sylvia Radian. Let me tell you what’s going to happen to you.”
“…”
“You will heal the very people you despise. The ones you called ‘filthy blood.’”
Sylvia’s face twisted in horror.
“You can’t mean…?”
“Yes. You’ll be confined to a monastery. For the rest of your life.”
Sylvia stumbled backward, her face filled with fear. Raysis spoke casually, but Sylvia understood the weight behind his words.
The monastery.
When a noble cleric committed a grave sin, they were sent to a monastery as punishment.
No one knew exactly what went on inside those places.
Even Sylvia didn’t know much about it, as she had always believed she’d never end up there.
‘I’ve heard that even nobles live like slaves in the monastery.’
There was no way she could go there.
“Why—why do I have to go there?”
As Raysis expected, Sylvia felt no remorse.
Instead, she grew angry, indignant that she was being punished. Her final outburst made her seem like nothing more than an insect to him.
In the monastery, everyone was equal. No matter how noble you had been, there were no special privileges.
It was a fitting end for someone like Sylvia.
As her anger turned to despair, Sylvia’s face gradually contorted with fear.
Sylvia felt a terrible sense of doom.
Why should she be sent there? A life in the monastery would be nothing short of torture, a fate worse than death.
Especially for someone like her, who took great pride in her noble status, living in the monastery was a death sentence in itself.
“Oh, and don’t even think about taking your own life. I’ll make sure you can’t.”
“B-Black magic?”
“Yes, black magic. You won’t even be able to die on your own terms. You’ll live out the rest of your life serving in the monastery, unable to die. Isn’t that fitting? You seemed to like using it before.”
Sylvia’s face fell into complete despair at Raysis’s words.

Rosalyn blushed shyly.
Mikhail’s sculpted face made her heart race.
“I heard from my father that you requested to receive my healing.”
Mikhail didn’t respond, his expression cold.
But that didn’t matter to Rosalyn.
Just the fact that Mikhail was by her side made her feel satisfied. With Lindsey gone, everything was finally falling into place.
Mikhail had opened his heart to her. She was the one healing him now.
Rosalyn felt as though she had everything.
‘He acts cold, but I know he cares about me.’
Sylvia had been an experienced cleric, seasoned in her role.
Not only that, but she possessed more divine power than Rosalyn. Receiving Sylvia’s healing would have been better for Mikhail in many ways.
Yet, Mikhail had refused Sylvia’s healing and chosen Rosalyn instead.
Her heart fluttered. The thought of Mikhail becoming hers made her feel as if she were walking on clouds.
“Mikhail, you can come to me anytime you need,” she said shyly, her face still flushed.
But Mikhail’s response was nothing but cold indifference. Without a word, he brushed past her, his expression unreadable.
‘Why is he still like this?’
His behavior was completely different from how he had treated Lindsey. When he was with Lindsey, it was as if Mikhail had become a different person entirely.
It was like he had regained his emotions whenever he was with her.
‘Why won’t he show that side to me?’
As she watched Mikhail walk away, Rosalyn clenched her fists, her face hardening with frustration.
