Episode 41
Episode 41
Transcendents each possessed unique abilities.
Among them, Bianca’s powers were particularly special.
Bianca Rosset.
She was a transcendent with both mind control and foresight abilities.
It was also the reason the Rosset family had become so powerful.
‘The Rosset family’s shared ability of foresight was a major factor.’
In the empire, there were three noble houses that even the emperor couldn’t easily interfere with.
The Kesion, Radian, and Rosset houses.
The Rosset family’s ability to foresee the future was one of the main reasons they held such an elevated position.
‘Of course, the ability isn’t perfect.’
They couldn’t choose which future to see.
So, if Bianca was saying it, it was likely true: Sylvia and Crain would join forces to try to kill her.
‘But why?’
It made sense for Sylvia, but Crain had already recognized Lindsey’s usefulness.
‘There’s no reason for that man to want me dead.’
Lindsey wasn’t shocked because she had never had any expectations of Crain as a person.
‘Bianca probably just wanted to warn me in advance.’
Lindsey smiled bitterly.
“What do you mean, you have to die?” Bianca asked, her face pale, her hands trembling, clearly not understanding.
‘If I don’t say it now, I’ll never get the chance.’
Having made up her mind, Lindsey looked at Bianca with determination.
“Bianca, I have a favor to ask.”
As Lindsey spoke, Bianca’s face turned even whiter.
“That’s far too dangerous.”
“I know.”
“You could actually die.”
“I know that too.”
“What pushed you this far?”
Lindsey simply smiled instead of answering.
She had a duty to return to Korea. After seeing Baek Ji-Hyuk’s past, her resolve had only strengthened.
She needed to go back to Korea and witness Baek Ji-Hyuk’s final moments properly. No one else would look into what had happened to him after his failed dimensional jump. It was her responsibility.

Mikhail’s face was hard, showing no sign of easing up. The emperor had deliberately sent him far away from where Lindsey’s mission was taking place.
The task given to him was nearly impossible to complete alone.
The emperor often assigned him dangerous missions like this.
‘This is probably a way to keep the Kesion family in check.’
He stared ahead, his face expressionless, but something stirred within him.
Strangely enough… he felt uneasy.
His sharp instincts were warning him that something bad was happening.
‘Could something have happened on the way to the lawless territories?’
It seemed unlikely.
Lindsey was accompanied by Bianca and Kenyan, both skilled transcendentals, despite Mikhail’s personal feelings about them.
So why this sense of dread? What was this ominous feeling?
Mikhail slashed through a monster with his sword. Blood splattered across his face, but his expression didn’t change.
Even though he was in a battlefield swarming with monsters, he felt nothing. Since childhood, he had been someone with faint emotions.
Sadness, pain, joy…
They didn’t exist.
He felt nothing at all.
Everything that happened around him felt distant, like watching a dream.
It was as if the things in this world weren’t real to him.
For Mikhail, emotions were something he had learned by mimicking others.
That’s how it had always been…
Until he saw Lindsey at the Kesion Marquisate when he was young. He could never forget how his world changed in an instant, how colors suddenly filled his once-gray existence.
‘Why? Why Lindsey Kesion?’
Mikhail still didn’t understand. Whenever he saw Lindsey, his heart raced.
It was as if only he and she existed in the same world.
Joy, sorrow, and longing.
He often wondered what those emotions truly felt like.
He still didn’t know, but whenever he was with Lindsey, he felt like he might finally understand.
‘I don’t want this.’
There were times when Mikhail deliberately avoided Lindsey because of these feelings. But it was already too late.
Even now, all he could think about was getting back to Lindsey as quickly as possible.
Was this what emotions were?
‘She probably doesn’t want me to come…’
Lindsey likely wouldn’t care whether he was there or not. She wasn’t the type of person to hold onto things like that.
In fact, she often felt uncomfortable when people around her showed too much affection.
Swish!
Clang!
His mana surged. His sword quickened.
All he could think of was defeating the monsters as fast as possible so he could return to Lindsey’s side.

Rosalyn had been harboring a lot of resentment towards Raysis lately.
And today was no different.
“What on earth are you talking about, Father!”
It was unlike Raysis to talk back to their father, but here he was, doing just that.
‘What’s so special about that girl, Lindsey?’
She hated how Lindsey was monopolizing both Raysis’s and Crain’s attention.
‘I can’t even go back to the academy and I’m stuck under house arrest because of her!’
Ever since the wine incident involving the princess, Rosalyn’s position had weakened even further.
How happy she had been to hear that Lindsey had fallen out of favor at the imperial capital.
‘The higher nobles hate dirty blood, after all.’
The royal family, of course, knew better than to associate with someone like Lindsey. Rosalyn spoke sharply.
“Isn’t this a good thing? Why are you so overreacting?”
“……”
“Lindsey loves to show off and collect achievements. She might even be enjoying all the attention.”
“What?”
“Am I wrong?”
“You are. Lindsey is a gentle soul. She’s never liked being in the spotlight.”
“Gentle? Are you serious?”
“Yes, she’s a kind and sensitive girl. How can you not worry about her being sent to the lawless territories?”
“Are you really thinking that, Raysis? Maybe you need healing.”
Her question implied that he seemed crazy to her.
Rosalyn was at a loss for words, astonished by her brother’s attitude. Raysis had to be out of his mind. How could he use words like gentle or kind to describe Lindsey Kesion?
‘Maybe in the past.’
Sure, if it was the old Lindsey, the one who used to be ignored by everyone. But the current Lindsey? She exuded a sharp, dangerous aura.
There were times when even Rosalyn felt fear when Lindsey looked at her with those fierce eyes.
“You know what happens there, don’t you?” Raysis said quietly.
Rosalyn fell silent. There was a reason priests avoided going to the lawless territories.
‘Many priests who went there disappeared.’
Searching for those missing priests was nearly impossible. The area was too isolated and cut off from outside help.
Moreover, the transcendent beings in the lawless territories were said to be uncooperative.
‘Until now, it didn’t matter because only priests of impure blood went missing…’
Rosalyn clenched her fists, thinking how relieved she was that it wasn’t her but Lindsey going there.
Raysis saw through Rosalyn’s thoughts and looked at her with disdain.
Rosalyn was sharp enough to notice the change in her brother’s eyes.
‘Because of that lowly thing, he’s looking at me like that…’
She felt humiliated. How could Raysis think that Lindsey was better than her?
“Rosalyn. I know you dislike Lindsey, but you should tone it down a bit.”
“What did you just say?”
Raysis smiled, a beautiful but cold smile that made Rosalyn’s blood boil.
“You’re acting like you’re jealous of Lindsey.”
“Raysis Kesion!”
“Why didn’t I realize it until now?”
Suddenly, Rosalyn understood the emotion behind Raysis’s gaze.
It was a chilling anger.
“What… what are you talking about?”
“You know exactly what I mean.”
Why hadn’t she remembered?
Rosalyn froze.
For so long, she had forgotten because Raysis had always been kind to her. But he was the worst enemy one could have if he saw someone as a threat.
‘He thinks I’m his enemy because of Lindsey.’
Rosalyn trembled, her face pale, as she realized how much Raysis despised her.
It was like going back to their childhood, back when Raysis would watch with cold indifference whenever she tormented Lindsey.
‘Does he know I was the one who stole the keepsake?’
Rosalyn’s body shook with fear.
‘No, he couldn’t know.’
She tried to convince herself.
Crain frowned in discomfort at Raysis’s behavior.
As much as Rosalyn had been acting foolishly lately, she was still his most beloved daughter. Seeing her shaking and crying made Crain feel a pang of sympathy.
“That’s enough, Raysis.”
“Understood, Father. But we must protest to the imperial palace.”
“Raysis.”
“This is a warning directed at the Kesion Marquisate. Are we just going to sit back and do nothing about it?”
