How to Run Away from Obsessed Men

Episode 4

Episode 4

Azheth and Kenyan moved on. It was to head towards where the other transcendent beings who visited Radian Manor were.

Transcendent beings with strong divine power had been interacting with each other since they were young.

Azheth recalled the reason for this.

‘You have to release power to prevent rampages.’

Even with the guidance they received, the energy of those who reached their level never stabilized. To prevent rampages, they had to engage in contests among themselves, depleting their energy.

Azheth rubbed his temples. He was troubled by deep fatigue.

“Azheth, why are you so late?”

Azheth turned his head at the friendly voice.

“Miss Bianca.”

“I heard from the servants. You went to see Lindsey, didn’t you?”

There was Bianca Rosset.

Around her, other transcendent beings who had visited Radian Manor were resting, soaked in sweat.

‘Caught by Miss Bianca.’

She approached Azheth with a stern expression.

“You didn’t behave rudely towards Miss Lindsey, did you? Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Well… You don’t need to worry. I was overflowing with energy.”

“She seemed in pretty bad shape… Why didn’t you let Lindsey in?”

“That was Mother’s decision. It must have been a punishment for her recent misdeeds.”

“…”

“Do you not know how wicked she is?”

“Even so…”

She didn’t seem like that kind of person…

Bianca fell silent. She couldn’t comment on matters concerning another family.

Watching Bianca, Azheth remembered how Lindsey could return to the manor.

Bianca, who arrived a day earlier than the other transcendent beings, found Lindsey collapsed at the main gate of Radian Manor and brought her in.

If it hadn’t been for Bianca, Lindsey would have been left outside the manor.

“Why is Kenyan in that state? Didn’t he get proper healing this time either?”

At Emily’s words, Azheth looked at Kenyan.

Kenyan seemed to be lost in thought, staring down at his own hand.

Only when people’s attention focused on him did Kenyan seem to regain his senses.

He asked Azheth with a stern face, “Lindsey Keshion, it’s true that she hasn’t awakened her divine power, right?”

Azheth nodded. He looked at Kenyan with curiosity.

Except when Lindsey was in an accident, Kenyan had hardly shown any interest in her.

In fact, he treated her as if she didn’t exist. Why would Kenyan suddenly show interest in Lindsey?

“That woman is so strange.”

“She was always strange.”

“No, brother. She’s really strange. Seriously…”

Kenyan continued to stare down at his hand while saying that.

He didn’t want to be interested in Lindsey. But the energy from earlier kept swirling in his mind.

‘No, this won’t do. She must have pulled something.’

She had always done strange things; she might have even learned black magic.

‘I need to meet her again and confirm.’

Kenyan thought he didn’t want to see Lindsey, but he had no choice. That wicked woman might be up to something. He needed to find out what she had done.

“Yes, that’s why I’m going to see her. I need to confirm.”

With that thought, Kenyan got up.

“I’ll be back in a moment.”

⋆★⋆

Lindsey packed her things.

It was time for her to leave Radian Manor immediately.

“Let’s go back to the manor. Nothing will change by staying here.”

The thought of returning to the manor was dreadful, but she had no choice.

Lindsey bit her lower lip. No matter how she looked at it, the situation was extremely bleak.

‘I want to go back to Korea.’

She didn’t really have a family in Korea. Just like Lindsey Keshion, Han Jiyu had been alone since birth.

But at least her existence wasn’t a sin.

Even though they weren’t family, there were many good people around her.

The guides and espers around her all cherished her.

Whether it was because she was an S-rank guide or because they genuinely liked her as a person…

‘Would Baek Ji-hyuk be okay?’

She thought of her esper, Baek Ji-hyuk. They weren’t in love, but they weren’t on bad terms either.

He was different from Azheth, so maybe he felt sorry for Lindsey.

He was inherently kind. She recalled something he had said.

‘You need to value yourself more.’

Lindsey lowered her head.

For now, she needed to focus on the current situation.

After packing her belongings, she stood up and opened the door.

Although Kenyan had told her not to leave the room, she didn’t want to listen to him.

“Lindsey Keshion!”

If Lady Sylvia Radian hadn’t appeared just then…

Sylvia Radian.

After the previous Radian Lord died in a rampage while fighting demons, she became the de facto leader of the Radian family.

She was holding a wine glass in one hand and smiling.

Lindsey put on a composed expression.

‘This damn manor won’t leave me alone.’

Sylvia never saw Lindsey as a person. She considered a half-blooded noble like Lindsey beneath her.

Sylvia was horrified at the thought of her perfect son possibly marrying someone like Lindsey.

‘But there was no need to torment her so much.’

In the past, Lindsey always thought it was her fault whenever Sylvia persecuted her.

She thought Sylvia disliked her because she was inadequate.

Seeing Sylvia’s smiling face, Lindsey realized why she had come.

‘She came to mock me.’

Lindsey’s thoughts were correct.

Sylvia was in a very good mood now. It was the moment when Lindsey, who had clung to her home like a parasite, was completely driven out.

Sylvia came to savor that moment.

“Now you’re leaving? It took you quite a while.”

“…”

“Why lie… Tsk, tsk.”

“Why did you want a husband overflowing with virtue when you can’t even become a priestess? Why lie about something that would be exposed anyway…”

“Ha… Think whatever you want.”

Sylvia was taken aback by Lindsey’s response.

Whenever asked when she would manifest as a priestess, Lindsey used to lower her head as if she were a criminal.

But now, she was confidently retorting.

Sylvia chuckled.

Being driven out in disgrace like this was quite a sight.

“To be so confident when being driven out!”

“I’m leaving on my own.”

“Leaving on your own?”

But to the returned response, Sylvia wore a puzzled expression.

The servants who had been watching Lindsey behind her were the same.

What? Did she just say “excuse me”?

Lindsey Keshion must be insane.

Sylvia Radian was a priestess.

And a very powerful and exceptional one at that.

Because of that, her position within the empire was very strong.

Someone like Lindsey Keshion couldn’t possibly speak to her like that.

“I’m going to divorce your son now, and I have no relationship with you. So please step aside.”

“What?”

“You want a divorce so badly. I’m going to do it right now.”

“You’ll willingly divorce?”

Sylvia looked at Lindsey with disbelief, her eyes narrowing.

Lindsey tried to pass by without saying anything more. Sylvia blocked her way.

“Leaving? How convenient. Well then, I should give you a parting gift, shouldn’t I?”

Sylvia had no intention of letting Lindsey go so easily.

After all, hadn’t she insulted the name of the Radian family? Shouldn’t she pay the appropriate price for that?

Just the fact that a woman who couldn’t even become a priestess almost became the lady of the manor was enough to send chills down her spine.

‘I don’t like her leaving so smoothly!’

But she couldn’t punish Lindsey recklessly.

Lord Keshion wouldn’t care about Lindsey, but still, caution was needed in case of unexpected situations.

‘But I can’t just let her go like this.’

She intended to make Lindsey pay for daring to insult her and Azhet.

Sylvia poured the wine in her hand directly onto Lindsey’s head!

“Gasp!”

“Goodness…”

The servants behind Sylvia gasped in shock.

With wine dripping from her hair, Lindsey stared straight at Sylvia.

Red wine flowed from her hair.

Drip, drip.

Silence fell over the corridors of the manor.

All that could be heard was the sound of wine dripping from Lindsey’s hair.

Seeing Lindsey like that, Sylvia laughed mockingly.

“Now you look more suitable.”

Lindsey turned her gaze to the maid behind Sylvia.

A wine bottle was in the maid’s hand.

“You.”

“Y-Yes!”

“Bring me that wine bottle.”

She was a maid who usually looked down on Lindsey.

Normally, she would have ignored Lindsey’s request. Moreover, Sylvia was glaring at her menacingly from the side.

But when their eyes met, she found herself handing over the wine bottle to Lindsey without even realizing it.

Lindsey’s firmness and determination were palpable, something unexpected from her usual self.

It was something that couldn’t be found in her usual demeanor.

Lindsey raised the wine bottle.

Everyone was bewildered by her actions, including Sylvia.

“This… is insane.”

As someone spoke, more wine poured over Lindsey’s head.

She poured wine over her own head!

Silence enveloped the room.

No one moved from their spots.

It was then that Kenyan’s voice was heard.

“What in the world is going on here?”

He looked at Lindsey with a stern expression.
