Chapter 32: Dragon Eye of the Beholder (Part 1)
Somewhere in the Barbaric Archipelago on an island called Outcast Island, there is a prisoner's hold underground. In this prisoner's hold is a particularly dangerous person named Dagur Oswaldson, or as he is better known as, Dagur the Deranged.
Dagur was imprisoned for one reason and one reason only. He was defeated by Hiccup and Kala three years prior. Why? Because he tried to kill the dragons of Berk and take Kala as his own dragon to use as a weapon.
The man lived up to his title. He was a very deranged man that would do anything to get what he wanted.

One of the Outcast guards made his way down to the prisoner's hold with the usual food that was given to the prisoners.
"Mealtime maggots!" He shouted as he tossed some bread at most of the prisoners, then handed Dagur some meat and a napkin.
"But that's not bread! Why does he always get special treatment? Oh, Mr. Big-shot. Mr. Berserker Chief." An upset prisoner complained as he watched Dagur eat in envy.
"Oh, you want some? Come here, I'll give you some." Dagur persuaded.
The prisoner bought it and went closer to the bars that closed off their cells from one another. Dagur grabbed the prisoner through the bars and pulled him closer.
"I've been meaning to tell you something for the last three years; Your voice…is really…annoying." He spat, then twisted the prisoner's arm in anger.
The poor man yelped in pain and held his arm close to himself as he backed away from the deranged man. Dagur smirked at him, then opened up the napkin he was given. Inside was a key to his cell.
With a wicked smile resting upon his face, he unlocked his cell and stepped out into the open.
"Gosh that feels good." He said, then he turned towards the guards and fought them off one by one.
"He's escaped! Dagur's got out! Sound the al-" A guard yelled out frantically, but Dagur knocked him out before he could finish the order.
Dagur looked up as the door to the prisoner's hold flew open. More guards had arrived and sped into the hold.
"Oh goodie! A challenge." Dagur said happily, then he yelled as he charged at the guards.
Some of the Berserkers that were locked up started cheering for their chief.
"Yah! Get 'em Dagur!"
After a few minutes of fighting, Dagur had successfully knocked out all the guards. All except for the one guard that was guarding the exit of the hold. Dagur approached the man with a dangerous glint in his eyes. The guard became skittish and backed into the door to try and get away from the deranged man.
"No. No, Dagur don't! I'm the one who gave you the key." The guard pleaded.
"Which makes you a traitor." Dagur explained, then he knocked out the guard. "I hate traitors."
He pushed the knocked-out guard aside, then opened the door and made his way outside. He smirked as he looked up towards the sky.
"It's a new day, Hiccup. Hope you're well rested." He said with a deranged smile, then he laughed with his arms held high.

Across the Archipelago, the Berkians didn't have a single clue that Dagur had escaped the prisoner's hold on Outcast Island.
Hiccup and Kala were taking their usual morning flight together before their day truly began.

"Okay love. Let's try that new move." I said as I leaned close to the saddle and adjusted Kala's tailfin. She gladly dived down and then shot upwards quickly. "Woohoo! Yeah baby! That's it, Kala."
At my encouragement, Kala pumped her wings faster to gain more height. I kept as close to the saddle as I possibly could to help her speed. The wind sped past us as we got higher and it blew my hair back and in all sorts of directions. I laughed in joy as the thrill of it all coursed through me. I don't think I will ever grow tired of flying.
I got so lost in the moment that I didn't notice my tether to the saddle came undone. As I started to slip off Kala's back, I struggled to grab hold of the saddle again.
"No no, not again!" I shouted as I completely fell off and started plummeting towards the ocean. "Uh, hey Kala!"
She looked down and immediately dived after me, then slowed herself to fall at eye level with me. I smiled at her and rested my forehead against hers.
"Hey." I said, feeling a little better about not falling by myself. She crooned back as a reply, then we separated and I looked to see how close we had gotten to the ocean.
"So, just plummet, or, uh any ideas?" I asked her once I looked back towards her.
Kala nudged me towards her back and I got hold of the saddle, finally able to get myself secure on her back again. She leveled out once I was safely attached to the saddle once more and glided along a wind current above the ocean.
"I seriously have to get my own pair of wings." I said, a bit upset at myself for falling off Kala's back again. It's been three years, almost four even, and I still can't stay on her back sometimes. It was so frustrating.
Kala looked at me with a deadpan expression, not liking the idea in the slightest.
"Oh, don't even start. I know you don't like it. You've made it very clear the last couple of times I tried to make my own wings." I retorted, earning a smack on my arm from her earplate. "Let's head back. I'm sure the chief will need us to do some chores."
She nodded and faced forward as we made our way back to Berk.
