Chapter 25 - How to Manage Connections (15)
[Part from Chapter 13]
The events of Chapter 13 covered the time from when we gathered in the open area until we entered the maze.
I skimmed over the part where we hunted monsters outside the gate and focused on what happened once we entered the temple.

“I want to go back outside the gate.”
Choi Soo-jung turned to look at me with a blank expression.
“Yeah. Something seems off.”
Sorry, but that’s not possible.
“No, this is what I expected.”
How could this possibly be the event that triggers the golden goblin?
“Junior, I thought you knew my situation? Can you really not think?”
“I know. Your bloodline, your past. That’s why I brought you into this dungeon.”
“…Ah. So I can take that to mean you want to die here?”
The wind swirled fiercely in Choi Soo-jung’s hand. Oh dear, how scary.
“Wait! Isn’t it more important to regroup outside rather than fight each other right now?”
“You can’t go out. It’s one of those events.”
The wind in Choi Soo-jung’s hand intensified even more. But she wouldn’t dare attack me.
“Killing me would also mean Kang Na-hyun and your senior would die here too.”
“What!”
“This place is the Beast’s Temple. It’s where the beastmen come to face trials.”
I said cheerfully. I couldn’t help but be joyful.
“Of course, the difficulty of the trial isn’t something we can clear without prior knowledge.”
Because,
“But I know how to clear it.”
I was the one in the advantageous position during negotiations.
“Senior, you have a reason to come back alive, don’t you?”
Choi Soo-jung frowned even more, but eventually released the wind she had gathered. Just as I expected.
“…So, what do we need to do?”
Kang Na-hyun asked in a frightened tone. I felt a bit sorry for her; she was merely caught in this conflict.
However, for clearing the maze, she was essential.
I couldn’t help but smile wider.
“Maze clearing.”
Alright, it’s time for an exciting treasure hunt.
“First, I’ll give you a briefing. Sit down, senior.”
Kang Na-hyun rushed over to me, and behind her, Choi Soo-jung approached, glaring at me while walking slowly. Her gaze was piercing.
Since she wouldn’t be able to harm me right now, there was no need to worry. After we got out of the maze, I could easily throw out a bait and negotiate again.
I took out some chalk and wrote on the stone floor.
‘Maze’, ‘Traps’, ‘Characters’, ‘Clairvoyance’.
“First, do you see that door over there? If you go through that door, the maze will start. Once you enter, it’ll be one of two things: you’ll either die or make it out alive.”
I smiled broadly.
“You can’t come out through that door again.”
Kang Na-hyun began to tremble again. Just like a puppy.
“Anyway… there are all sorts of traps in the maze, and near these traps, there are hints written in characters used by beastmen. Hints that can help you avoid the traps.”
I confidently pointed to myself.
“And I can interpret those characters.”
I could feel Kang Na-hyun’s eyes sparkling with admiration as she looked at me. My shoulders involuntarily lifted. This is the pride of a gaming master from Korea!
“So you can avoid all the traps.”
“Exactly. As long as you avoid the traps and keep going, you’ll find the exit.”
“Why do we need clairvoyance?”
“Because those characters are written in places only beastmen can read. They’re either written so high you need to fly to see them, or they’re written very small. To see them in detail, clairvoyance is essential.”
It was truly a game of hidden picture finding with how inconvenient the locations were.
Well, right now…
“I see…”
With her here, there shouldn’t be any problems. She was quite convenient in many ways.
“Right. I’ll use the vision-sharing skill I gained from leveling up to share my sight with you, Na-hyun, to grasp the situation.”
“Got it!”
Her trust in me, her gentle nature, and how this perfectly fits what I needed—what luck!
“Then the briefing is over. Just in case, let’s check our gear before we head out!”
Just in case, I handed over several potions to both of them and prepared our equipment.
We set off toward the maze in a tense atmosphere.

Kang Na-hyun’s coin is skyrocketing, lol. Was she always like this? Her growth rate is insane!

They say she’s a late bloomer, but what’s with this growth speed?

But it seems like that’s the button for her cat ears to pop up.

What’s with that attitude, lol. Shouldn’t they just abandon it?

[Part from Chapter 14]
Chapter 14 covered the clearing of the maze and the controversial donation request part.
The content was shorter than expected because I wasn’t there when the scammer was handling the monster remains or when Choi Soo-jung was getting beaten up.
There was also a part where I got beaten by Na Yu-ri in class, but I just skipped that. I’m such a kind person.
…It wasn’t because there was no substance that I skipped it.

“In the next hallway, it’s to the right.”
“Left.”
“Straight ahead.”
I guided my party while collecting all the treasures in the maze.
I planned to keep some of them without trading them. Some of them trigger events.
Especially these beads and the scales.
After collecting all the treasures, we headed for the exit. Upon exiting, we saw the beastly altar made of bones, just like in the game.
At the center of the altar, the ‘Beastman Key’ made of bones floated.
If taken normally, this key is just an item that grants the chance to be acknowledged by beastmen, but if a descendant of the beastmen brings it to the altar and triggers the ‘heir’ event, then it becomes something entirely different.
“Senior, please go and grab the key.”
“Me?”
“Yes. You have to grab it.”
Choi Soo-jung glared at me, but I moved as instructed. When Choi Soo-jung grabbed the key, characters began to inscribe themselves on it.
I couldn’t help but smirk.
That key is an incredibly valuable item that allows you to open doors leading to the tower from anywhere.
After receiving the key that Choi Soo-jung tossed, our party exited the gate.
Once outside, the sun was already beginning to rise.

I told Kang Na-hyun that I would report the gate, so she might come a bit later. By the time I arrived at the dormitory, I envisioned Kang Na-hyun, who was halfway asleep.
After completing the settlement and gate report, I noticed that rumors seemed to have spread, and I could see students whispering as they looked at me.
Sure, it would be surprising. For an F-class duo and a cat beastman hybrid to have cleared the gate, even if it was a stationary gate.
Moreover, I’m ‘Na Yoo-han’. The fact that Na Yoo-han is a commander with low specs is well known in the awakened community.
But whether they like it or not, they would have to believe it after seeing the empty gate. Well, in truth, it was mostly thanks to Kang Na-hyun and Choi Soo-jung, but others wouldn’t know that.
This should raise my evaluation.
So, I’m gradually changing things.
As I organized my plans in my mind, I took my seat amidst the welcoming gazes.
Once Kang Na-hyun arrives, I’ll need to settle the accounts.
Kang Na-hyun trusts me quite a bit, but the things I’ll be doing in the future won’t be solved just by trust.
I’ll need to buy loyalty with money.
***
“About the settlement I mentioned earlier,”
“Oh, right!”
“We made quite a bit of money by processing the monster remains and the various treasures obtained from the dungeon. A total of 3 billion.”
***
“Yeah, but that’s your money, right?”
Na-hyun, being naive, might be surprised by this sudden revelation.
“That means I’ll be handling the remains, and we need to settle properly.”
She’ll surely feel grateful for this unexpected situation.
If she knows that this benefits her, she’ll likely work even harder to earn more money.
“Therefore, I plan to divide it equally, 1 billion each. Can you give me your account number?”
And if Kang Na-hyun is diligent, she will surely use this money for her own development.
She’ll buy the equipment I should have bought for her, so I can receive gratitude while also saving resources.
Let’s guide her in that direction.
“I think you’ll be able to buy the weapons you need—”
At that moment, Kang Na-hyun suddenly said something unexpected.
“I’m going to
