Chapter 217.2
* * *
“Huff, huff.”
Nigel ran, gasping for air. Then, at that moment-
“Ugh!”
Something semi-transparent, resembling tentacles, grabbed Nigel’s ankle.
Nigel, who was thrown to the ground, slowly raised her head.
In front of Nigel stood two men in black boots and dark clothes, who looked eerily similar. They looked down at Nigel as if she was a bizarre creature.
The younger of the two, Jade, slowly opened his mouth.
“Orobas.”
Jade said.
Although Nigel couldn’t see it, Jade saw a demon with the upper body of a man and the lower body of a horse clearly.
“Bind him.”
Shiik!
“Euph, euph!”
The magical tentacles from Orobas’s body tied Nigel up.
“Dad, Jade!”
Leticia ran towards them.
“You’ve come just in time!”
Cedric slowly followed Leticia.
“Duke.”
Collen frowned and scanned them all.
“What’s going on?”
“Just the usual.”
Leticia shrugged.
“The kind of thing that happens in our house.”
“I can’t deny that.”
Collen gestured.
Zion, who was a bit late, helped Nigel up, who was struggling.
“As always, expect a scolding for the trouble you cause.”
“Yes,” Leticia bowed her head.
“Arrest him.”
Collen signaled to Cedric. Cedric nodded.
“It seems we often end up arresting someone in our house.”
“That’s just how our ducal family is.”
Jade said lazily.
“Watch out. I’ll definitely escape and come back! I’ll torture you more horribly than anyone I’ve ever killed before. I’ve thought of over three thousand ways to torture you!”
Nigel continued cursing Leticia as Cedric dragged her away.
“Shut her up,” Jade signaled.
“No, just let him be.”
Leticia said.
“Nigel has quite the temperament. It’s good to let her vent like this.”
“Leticia, your ears will rot,” Cedric advised.
But Leticia simply maintained a calm expression.
“Isn’t this setup too predictable and familiar? Isn’t this what they call deja vu?”
Leticia remarked.
Nigel gritted his teeth.
“I hate cliches, but I’d welcome this kind.”
“You damn wench!”
Nigel lunged at Leticia.
“I’m truly astonished this time,” Leticia said to Nigel. “You tried to interrogate me using my beloved Cedric, even if it was just in a dream. Using an angel-like Cedric in that way?”
Leticia glared at Nigel.
“It’s funny that I’m lecturing you, a murderer, but it’s heartless, even for you, to touch someone dear to another. Didn’t Siebel teach you that even trash has some honor?”
“Hmph! Now I see you’re angry because of that doll-like boyfriend of yours, aren’t you?”
A sly smile crept up on Nigel’s face.
“I was shocked to see Cedric used in that way.”
“Spouting nonsense.”
Nigel spat.
“The torture chamber you saw in the dream was prepared by me to torture you! But that blond puppet interfered, entering my dream and ruining it.”
“Is that so?”
Leticia blinked, looking at Cedric.
Cedric tilted his head, not understanding.
“So, I decided to use him to pressure you in my world. But, you see…”
“…?”
“I can’t tamper with humanity. You two crazies just live well, mad lovers!”
“What are you saying?”
Leticia frowned.
Upon Cedric’s signal, the knights he brought with him silenced Nigel.
“If you blabber once more, I might have to cut off your tongue. It’s legal to punish a wanted criminal serving a life sentence.”
And then Cedric put Nigel into a carriage.
“Let’s go.”
With that, the carriage carrying her departed.
‘Whew, this incident is over for now.’
Leticia felt relieved. However, without a moment’s rest, she was summoned by Collen and got an earful.
