chapter 4
4. I didn’t expect you to be such a crazy b*tch.
1.
“Lady Ludmeyer, what the hell are you talking about…”
“Oh my, what did I say? Ah! Prince Isvant, if you’re not rude, could you dance a light dance with me?”
As if she was shy about saying that, I almost burst into laughter at the sight of her holding out her hand.
Generally, when a male party requests a dance, the female party has the right to accept or reject it. Even if you refuse the dance request, there is nothing to be blamed by others.
However, when a woman asks a man to dance, the story is a little different. The lady mustered up the courage to apply for a dance, so a man’s refusal to do so is accepted in the social world as openly saying, “I don’t think you’re attractive.”
So, now this cunning lady named Adele Ludmeier has offered me an irresistible option, and she intends to continue her previous conversation in the name of dancing.
“Of course, Lady Ludmeyer. If I had known that I would have the honor of being the first dance partner of such a beautiful lady today, I would have had a cup of tea to calm her mind.”
Saying that, she lightly grasped her hand, which she reached out to her, and she led me to the right place for her dance with her coy eye smile.
Of course, if you dig into her reality, she semi-forcibly drags me to a secluded place where the contents of the conversation won’t be overheard by others.
It may be a bit obvious, but the vast majority of nobles wear masks in public places to portray themselves they want to show to others. You can show your true self only in front of people from the same family or close friends.
In other words, the fact that her Lady Lud Meyer revealed ‘her true self’ to me to some extent meant that she had confidence.
The conviction that you know something that you don’t know. Very well too.
The act she was committing now was no different from unilaterally insulting Isvant, the same duke family as the Lud Meyer family, so otherwise it wouldn’t make sense.
There was no chance that something she knew was a weakness I didn’t know about that could harm the family, so in this situation, I had no other option but to be half-forced. At least until I figured out what information she knew about me.
She seemed to have arrived at the place she wanted before she knew it, and she put her hand on my shoulder from Lady Lud Meyer’s side. She didn’t particularly enjoy dancing, but since dancing was a basic skill that aristocrats had no choice but to learn by half, her body moved naturally and wrapped around her back.
It was clear that I was leading the dance that started, but it was Lady Ludmeyer who seemed more comfortable. She had the appearance of a high-ranking lady, but it was no surprise, since she was an unquestionably high-ranking knight.
It is said that I have not neglected basic physical training, but in the end, my essence is a wizard. Compared to her knight, her level of motor skills was different, apart from her physical ability.
“So, you’re not going to stick out your flippers like before, are you? I know very well who you are.”
“I don’t know what to say… But at least I need to know what you’re talking about so I can give you a proper answer.”
“Hmm…”
She looked up at me for a moment, then the corner of her mouth went up, and she smiled provocatively.
“A crazy man who said he didn’t want to learn magic because it hurt his head, and he was crazy about women and alcohol.”
“…Yes?”
When I looked as if I was taken aback by her unexpected words, the smile on Lady Ludmeyer’s lips grew thicker. As if my reaction proves her words.
“Seeing that people have completely changed, I must have gone back quite a while… How old is it?”
“No… What the hell are you talking about? I don’t even know what it means to go back, and I don’t know how to answer if you suddenly ask me how many years.”
Maybe she finally calmed down a bit, she asked again with a strange expression on her face.
“You, no, you… have you come back from the future?”
“Come back from the future? Me?”
I could see Lady Ludmeyer flinching at the moment when she heard the laugh burst out of her spirits, but it wasn’t my business. It never occurred to her that the reason she committed such a ridiculous rudeness was to say such nonsense.
“I didn’t know that the famous Lady Ludmeyer was such a crazy b*tch.”
As soon as she heard the word mad b*tch, her body froze for a moment as she felt the life that spread from her. I paused for a moment, wondering if my choice of words was too much, but in the end, it wasn’t me who was the first to offend.
Besides, there was no way that Lady Lud Meyer could harm me in a place like this unless she really went out of her mind, and I wasn’t weak enough to be easily attacked by her.
“I have no intention of taking lightly the rudeness that the young lady committed today. I want you to keep in mind that the next time we meet, what I should receive is not your murderous life, but a sincere apology.”
Let go of the hand on her back, as well as the hand that was still holding her, and widen her distance.
Because of her upset feelings, she wanted to leave her alone and leave without even saying hello to her, but she thought there was no reason to go that far and bowed her head to her. I turned my back.
The rudeness that Lady Ludmeier committed today was, in the end, a matter between Isvant and Ludmeier… No, so far it was just a minor matter between two individuals, Adele Ludmeyer and Luke Isvantra.
So there’s no reason for her to advertise to her other nobles that there’s a conflict between her and me.
But it wasn’t without questions.
The first is her choice of words.
This time. Also. Future.
The second is his self-confidence, as if he knows me well.
And the third, the ridiculous murder felt by a noblewoman of the same age as herself.
I thought there might be something I was missing. No, I was sure.
2.
You acted too hastily.
It wasn’t until after Luke Isvant left that the thought ran through Adele’s head.
It didn’t take long for her to admit that she had been too hasty, and that she could have approached it a little more cautiously.
Of course, the suspicion itself that Luke Isvant was a regressor like himself was never resolved. The current situation couldn’t be explained unless he was also a regressor.
Perhaps that was Adele’s wish. If he was wrong in his thoughts, he didn’t know that in this episode, variables he didn’t know might pop up at any time.
As a regressor, he was accustomed to having most things work out the way he thought, so he didn’t even doubt that his plan would work out the way he wanted.
Forgetting the fact that the target is a variable that does not exist in his memory.
Her original plan was to make Luke Isvant admit that he was a regressor, and to induce him to join her plan.
She’s tired of shouldering the mission of saving the world alone, and she wants someone to share the weight of.
If she had known things would turn out this way, she would rather regret that this time she should have told her family that she had regressed.
Faced with the fact that her current situation was already out of her own hands, Adele decided to take care of this situation on her own.
She said that her family should never suffer damage due to her wrong judgment. That she didn’t allow her pride.
It was quite late at night when Adele, who had been having meaningless chats until the banquet came to an end, refusing her invitation to dance, and sipping her drinks little by little, returned to the house of Leude Meyer.
“Miss Adele, did something bad happen at the banquet?”
“…No big deal, Loggia.”
“Is that so…”
After listening to Loggia’s words, which seemed to doubt the truth of what she said, Adele pondered for a moment before adding,
“It really wasn’t a big deal. Um… Rather, I’ll write you a letter before I go to bed, so could you take care of it tomorrow morning?”
“Okay, lady.”
It is not known when Luke Isvant will leave the island and return to Isvant territory.
Adele had no intention of putting off what she had to do.
‘Luke Isvant, don’t think this is the end. I’ll make you admit it with your mouth.’
