How Kurama Leads Naruto Astray

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Minato: Kurama, You Idiot

Wait a minute. If Otsutsuki Urashiki has arrived in this era, does that mean Sasuke and Boruto from Boruto's timeline are here too?

According to the original Boruto storyline, Otsutsuki Momoshiki, Otsutsuki Kinshiki, and Otsutsuki Urashiki appeared at the same time. Then Momoshiki and Kinshiki were defeated by Naruto and Sasuke, while Urashiki escaped. Later, he found an Otsutsuki clan artifact—a turtle—that allowed him to travel back in time to the period when Sasuke had just defected.

Urashiki's goal back then was to capture the young Naruto, who had not yet fully grown, and extract the Nine-Tails' chakra. But due to an accident, Sasuke and Boruto got involved, and all three of them ended up traveling to that era together.

Then, Boruto and Naruto teamed up with Jiraiya and Sasuke, and the four of them managed to defeat Otsutsuki Urashiki.

That was how the original story went.

But now, it seems the future has changed. Instead of traveling back to the time after Sasuke's defection, Urashiki has come to an era where neither Naruto nor Sasuke has even been born yet. And judging by his actions, his target is clearly the Ryumyaku (Dragon Vein).

Kurama fell into deep thought.

The Dragon Vein was chakra left behind by the Sage of Six Paths after releasing his own power. It was extremely strong and contained characteristics of both the Otsutsuki clan and the Ten-Tails. But in the end, that's all it was. If we're talking about raw power, the Ten-Tails was definitely stronger—after all, it was born from a God Tree that absorbed the natural energy of an entire planet.

It would've made sense if Urashiki was after the Ten-Tails, but why the Dragon Vein?

With his own strength and the Otsutsuki artifact, the "Karasuki," he could achieve things far beyond what the Dragon Vein could offer. The time-traveling ability of the Dragon Vein was uncontrollable unless used by the Sage of Six Paths himself.

So why? Why would Urashiki be after the Dragon Vein? This doesn't make sense.

"Hey, Kurama, what are you thinking about? You're really zoning out." Naruto gave him a puzzled look.

Kurama lay on the ground, deep in thought. "I'm thinking about why Otsutsuki Urashiki is after the Dragon Vein. After getting the 'Karasuki,' his power is already way beyond the Sage of Six Paths. There's no reason for him to be interested in something weaker than himself."

Naruto froze for a moment, then his eyes lit up. "Otsutsuki Urashiki? Karasuki? Kurama, you know who that Otsutsuki guy is?"

Kurama nodded. "Unless I'm wrong, that guy is probably Urashiki."

Hearing Kurama's words, Naruto immediately snapped out of his mindscape and shouted to the others, "Kurama knows who that guy is!"

Sasuke's eyes lit up as well. "Is that true?"

"Yeah." Naruto nodded. "Even though Kurama acts crazy sometimes, he's actually pretty reliable."

Minato frowned but remained silent. He had no idea who Kurama was, but for some reason, he felt a strange sense of familiarity.

The Queen was the first to speak up. "Who is this Kurama you're talking about? Besides you guys, is there someone else who's come to this era?"

"The important thing right now is the information about our enemy," Mukade said, shaking his head.

Minato looked at Naruto. "If you can contact this person, please have them meet with us. We need to confirm the enemy's details face to face."

Passing information by word of mouth could lead to mistakes, and Minato wouldn't even know who to ask if things got confusing. A direct conversation would be much more reliable.

Naruto nodded. "Got it, Da—uh…"

As the others gave him strange looks, Naruto closed his eyes.

Inside his mind, Naruto turned to Kurama. "Kurama, I'll leave the intel to you."

"Yeah." Kurama stood up, chakra slowly surging around him.

At almost the same time, a surge of crimson chakra erupted from Naruto's body outside. Minato's eyes widened instantly, and without hesitation, he stepped in front of the queen and Mukade. It was a completely instinctive reaction.

The two ninja, codenamed "Insect" and "Butterfly," also sensed the ominous chakra. They had been keeping watch around them, but in an instant, they appeared nearby, forming a defensive stance that surrounded Naruto and Sasuke.

The queen was completely stunned. Mukade wasn't as dazed, but his expression wasn't much better. He instinctively shouted, "This guy is a Jinchuriki!"

A swarm of insects flew out from the ninja codenamed "Insect," transforming into a black mist that hovered in the air. Meanwhile, "Butterfly" quickly formed hand seals, releasing his chakra in full force. "Hey, hey, hey, Minato… Don't tell me this guy is—"

They both knew Kushina. They had seen her "borrow" the Tailed Beast's chakra before. It looked exactly the same. But the chakra radiating from Naruto now felt completely different—nothing like the golden glow Kushina used to give off. This one felt much more ominous.

Seeing the situation unfold, Sasuke instinctively stepped in front of Naruto. His Three-Tomoe Sharingan spun slowly in his eyes as he spoke in a calm but firm voice. "Relax. Kurama is the Nine-Tails, but he and Naruto have already made peace."

Bug and Butterfly stopped, turning their heads toward Minato.

Minato took a deep breath and waved for them to stand down, though he didn't tell them to back away completely. "I'm sorry, but you understand how the Nine-Tails is seen in Konoha… So, forgive us if we can't lower our guard completely."

"It's fine." Sasuke shook his head and deactivated his Sharingan before glancing at Naruto behind him. "I understand why Konoha's ninja fear the Nine-Tails, but you won't feel the same way in a moment. This guy isn't the same fox you know."

The crimson chakra slowly faded back into Naruto's body. As Naruto opened his eyes, his pupils had turned into those of a beast. The whisker marks on his face thickened, and when he spoke, his voice was completely different—it was Kurama's.

Kurama glanced at Sasuke with a hint of annoyance and bared his fangs. "What do you mean I'm not the same fox? I am me! What, you think I turned into a different fox or something?"

Sasuke let out a cold chuckle and said nothing, but the disdain in his eyes was obvious.

Minato, Insect, and Butterfly stared at Sasuke in shock. Never mind that he was casually talking to the Nine-Tails like that—did he not feel that ominous chakra? Was he not afraid? Wasn't it terrifying? Did he seriously not feel even a little nervous?

No, Sasuke did feel something. After all, holding back laughter was difficult.

"I can sense the hostility from you, Sasuke." Kurama narrowed his eyes at him.

Sasuke let out a calm, amused chuckle. "I never hide my hostility toward you, Kurama."

Kurama: "…"

You're not Sasuke. Who are you?! Give me back my cold and aloof Uchiha!

"Tch." Kurama turned away in annoyance—only to be met with Minato, completely frozen in place.

Seeing this, Kurama's expression shifted into something ridiculous. He immediately slammed the table and pointed at Minato, launching into a rant. "Minato! What's with that look on your face?! What's with that expression?! What's with those tears?! You think your tears can save the ninja world?!"

Where's the jeep? Where's the jeep?! Someone get a jeep in here already!
