How Kurama Leads Naruto Astray

Chapter 112: Chapter 112: Naruto: I'm not done yet

In the training ground of Konohagakure, dozens of Narutos stood in the field, gathering incomplete Rasengan with their hands. The blue chakra slowly formed between their hands, looking almost ready, but then it slowly started to dissipate.

Jiraiya sat beside them, rolling his eyes. "I told you, gather it and hold it. What are you doing, dispersing it while injecting more chakra?"

Other people's Rasengan is formed by gathering chakra into its shape, but Naruto's Rasengan is formed and then starts to fall apart, while Naruto keeps adding chakra to prevent it from disappearing.

Having more chakra means you can do whatever you want.

But this is not Rasengan!

"So what do you suggest I do?" Naruto angrily slammed the Rasengan into the ground, creating a small hole beneath his feet.

The shadow clone dispersed, and the remaining Naruto's face was filled with frustration. "I can't even maintain the chakra. The Tailed Beast Boom works just fine, so why can't Rasengan? Wasn't this technique developed by the Fourth Hokage based on the Tailed Beast Boom?"

Jiraiya was helpless. "That's true, but the Tailed Beast Boom uses two different types of chakra to form a stable chakra ball at a specific ratio, combining nature transformation and shape transformation. But Rasengan isn't like that. Rasengan only requires you to maintain chakra's shape transformation, so there's no stable ratio. Only when you master it yourself can you truly understand how to hold it."

"Have you ever tried gathering the Tailed Beast Boom with only yang chakra or only yin chakra?" Jiraiya shook his head and sighed. "If you succeed, then you've learned Rasengan."

Naruto plopped down on the ground, looking frustrated as he scratched his head. "But Kurama said that if I only use one type of chakra to form the Rasengan, it'll become unstable and explode."

"Yeah, so now you understand the difficulty of Rasengan," Jiraiya shrugged.

The hard part about Rasengan is gathering and maintaining the chakra. The first and second training stages might seem quick, but that doesn't mean much. It just shows you have talent. The real challenge is the third stage.

When Jiraiya was learning Rasengan, he spent very little time on the first two stages. But in the end, it still took a long time before he mastered it.

The Tailed Beast Bomb is created by directly condensing chakra in a balanced yin-yang ratio, so it's naturally stable.

The only challenge is controlling the chakra. As long as the balance is maintained, the Tailed Beast Bomb can be used. But Rasengan is different. It's called the pinnacle of chakra transformation, and it's not something you can do just because you have strong chakra control.

"It's too hard!" Naruto fell back, lying flat on the ground. "I don't know how to do this!"

Jiraiya took a sip of his drink, annoyed. "Stop fooling around and get up. If you keep this up, you definitely won't finish within a week like you promised Kurama."

After all, Kurama's requirement is to use Rasengan with one hand, and cheating with Shadow Clones is not allowed. The most Naruto can do is use clones to increase his practice speed.

Naruto jumped up from the ground, determination in his eyes. "I'm going to learn it!"

Not giving up—that's Naruto's style.

Jiraiya silently took another sip of his drink, then hesitated before asking, "How about trying another Ninjutsu, maybe a different approach?"

"Okay!" Naruto agreed without hesitation.

Jiraiya: "…"

He's really not giving up, huh? Just like you, Naruto.

Jiraiya rolled his eyes, set down his flask, and said, "So what do you want to learn? Sealing techniques? If you want to learn that, we'll need to start with the basics. How about I teach you something simple first, like chakra sealing?"

"Wait!" Naruto stopped Jiraiya with a hand. With a nervous laugh, he added, "Uh, how about something else?"

Sealing techniques require a solid understanding of written knowledge, and Naruto's grades were… well, not great. Asking him to learn sealing would basically mean making him go back to school. He didn't want that. He needed something else, at least something not too hard.

Jiraiya immediately saw through Naruto's trick. He scoffed and pulled out a Ninjutsu scroll. "Then let's learn the Flying Thunder God Technique. It's the Ninjutsu I promised you the last time you stopped Shukaku."

Naruto weakly raised his hand. "But I remember, you told me I could pick a Ninjutsu from the Sealing Book to learn, right?"

"Did I?" Jiraiya looked at Naruto in surprise, then casually waved it off. "Doesn't matter. Anyway, I won't let you learn any dangerous Ninjutsu. You can't choose anything too risky or anything like Wood Release. Flying Thunder God is the best fit for you."

It was true. The Sealing Book contained dangerous Ninjutsu and difficult techniques that only a few could learn, like Wood Release or Flying Thunder God. Jiraiya definitely wouldn't let Naruto learn dangerous techniques. Wood Style, for example, could only be learned by the Senju clan.

Of course, Jiraiya's comment about it being the best fit for Naruto was pure nonsense. He just really wanted Naruto to learn the Flying Thunder God Technique. That was the real reason.

Simple and straightforward.

As for whether Naruto would be able to learn it, that's something for later. After all, Tsunade is the Hokage now. If things go wrong, Naruto could always act cute and get Tsunade to change his choice. It's not a big deal.

Would Naruto get punished?

Ha! Does Jiraiya think Naruto or Tsunade would let him off easy? Jiraiya was so sure that Naruto would definitely get punished that he'd bet his own future happiness on it.

Naruto didn't realize Jiraiya's "good intentions" and innocently walked over to him.

"So, should I start learning the Flying Thunder God now? Is it hard?"

Naruto had heard Kurama and Jiraiya talk about the Flying Thunder God technique many times, so he knew how powerful it was. But whether it was difficult to learn, he wasn't sure. It couldn't possibly be harder than the Rasengan, right?

Noticing Naruto's eager expression, Jiraiya gave him a long look.

"The difficulty of this technique is S-rank."

Naruto: "..."

The atmosphere between them fell silent for a moment. After a while, Naruto slowly turned around, walked back to his previous spot, and used Shadow Clone Jutsu. Dozens of clones silently began practicing Rasengan.

"Hmph." Jiraiya snorted, putting the Flying Thunder God scroll back in his pocket and picking up his sake bottle, continuing to drink as if nothing had happened.

"You're not getting away that easily."

The difficulty of learning Rasengan was indeed high, and the difficulty of learning the Shadow Seal was also very high. But compared to the Flying Thunder God, they were nothing.

After all, outside of the Second Hokage Senju Tobirama, who developed the Flying Thunder God, only Minato had managed to master the technique. His three subordinates could only use the Flying Thunder God Formation by working together.

Naruto now felt like the perverted sage was messing with him. First Rasengan, then the Shadow Seal, and now, here was another technique with an S-rank difficulty.

"Not again!"
