34. A Father's Love as Solid as a Mountain
After dinner, Ling Ye let Ling Ning use the computer while she jumped into bed to watch TV.
Now that she had the computer, what was next? Naturally, it was time to… well, study. No, scratch that—write! Of course, it was time to start writing. Ling Ning took a look at her draft folder. She had accumulated quite a bit by now, and it was about time to start uploading.
She already had a platform in mind: “WuKe.” After all, her work wasn’t the typical “face-slapping” story you’d find on “Final Chapter.” Publishing there would probably end in disaster… most likely.
Registering as an author on “WuKe” was really simple. Ling Ning completed it in no time, choosing the pen name “Zero.” It had taken her three whole minutes to come up with it, but she was pretty pleased—it was perfectly cool and succinct, encapsulating her identity as an author. It was, in her opinion, absolutely flawless.
However, when she was about to upload her novel, she realized she had completely forgotten to give it a title. It was almost enough to drive her to despair.
Whether in her previous life or her current one, Ling Ning hated coming up with names more than anything else. When she used to write novels before, she only named key characters; for everything else, she relied on a name generator. Whatever it produced, she accepted without complaint. That’s why her novels often ended up with some bizarre names—like Bai Xue Family, Mo Mage, Gou Li, Xu Ming, and the like.
A book title, however, was crucial, as it formed the first impression for any potential reader. A good title was a good start, so she had to get this right. Ling Ning racked her brain for a long time and eventually managed to come up with a few names that seemed decent: How Could an Uncle Like Me Possibly Be a Magical Girl?, Put on My Daughter’s Panties and Become a Magical Girl!, and A Father’s Love as Solid as a Mountain… Uh, perhaps she’d leave the last one out.
With two options left, Ling Ning, as a sufferer of indecisiveness, only needed one thing: a coin to solve this dilemma.
“Heads for the first one, tails for the second one, and if it lands upright, the third one it is.” Ling Ning eyed the coin in front of her, then flicked it into the air. The coin spun and twirled through the air, over and over…
Ling Ning looked at the coin standing upright on the ground, then turned to her computer and began researching Newton, just to confirm if he was indeed a real person. This was ridiculous—how could the coin land upright on a tiled floor? Never mind, it seemed the coin couldn’t be trusted. She’d have to take her time and figure this out herself.
After nearly an hour of agonizing deliberation, Ling Ning finally decided on the second option. After all, it had a few keywords right at the start—like “daughter” and “panties”—that would definitely attract attention.
With the title set, Ling Ning uploaded the first three chapters at once. Seeing the words “Under Review” displayed on the screen, she figured it would be tomorrow before her story was up on “WuKe.” After all, it was pretty late—who’d be working at this hour?
“Finally done~”
Ling Ning stretched luxuriously. This movement immediately caught Ling Ye’s gaze from the bed. Had Ling Ning noticed, she would’ve realized that Ling Ye’s eyes were just like those of the men who ogled her outside—maybe even more shameless.
“Ye Ye, go take a bath before you continue watching, okay?” Ling Ning turned her head to address Ling Ye, who was pretending to be engrossed in the TV.
“Ye Ye wants to take a bath with Mom~”
“Huh!?” Ling Ning was taken aback by the request, her voice turning a bit stiff. “Ye Ye, you’re a big girl now. Wouldn’t it be better to go bathe on your own?”
“Nooo~ I want to bathe with Mom! Does Mom not like Ye Ye anymore?” To make her act more convincing, Ling Ye pinched her own thigh hard. The pain instantly brought tears to her eyes.
“How… How could I dislike Ye Ye? If you want to bathe together, we’ll bathe together.” Seeing Ling Ye’s tears, Ling Ning panicked a little, failing to notice the unnatural look in Ling Ye’s expression.
The moment Ling Ning agreed, Ling Ye’s tearful face transformed into a beaming smile, and her heart danced with joy. If she couldn’t steal a glance before, this time she would look as much as she pleased.

“Whoo~”
Seeing Ling Ye’s nose finally stop bleeding, Ling Ning let out a sigh of relief. She had no idea why, but as they bathed, Ling Ye suddenly started having a nosebleed, which scared her half to death. Thankfully, it wasn’t anything serious. Ling Ning was now seriously considering scheduling a full checkup for both herself and Ling Ye.
At that moment, Ling Ye sat on the bed, looking frustrated. Just a little stimulation had made her nose bleed—clearly, she wasn’t disciplined enough yet. But Mom’s chest really was something else—big, soft, and full of bounce. No, if she kept thinking about it, her nose might start bleeding again.
Just then, a knock came at the door. Ling Ning glanced through the peephole and found Ye Xuan standing outside. Opening the door, she didn’t even have time to ask why she was there before Ye Xuan spoke up.
“I left my keys at the café. Can I stay here tonight?”
“Of course. By the way, is no one at the café?” Ling Ning asked.
Ye Xuan shook her head. “I went back to check, but after closing, Luo Xiaoning and Chu Mengyao just disappeared. They didn’t pick up their phones either—no idea where they went.”
“You should take a bath first. You don’t mind wearing my pajamas, right? And use this towel—it’s brand new.”
“Thanks~”

After her bath, Ye Xuan emerged to find Ling Ning typing away at her computer. In her thin pajamas, her impressive figure was impossible to hide. She seemed a bit warm, and the top two buttons of her pajama top were undone, revealing a tantalizing glimpse of cleavage. And those white, delicate feet… Ye Xuan couldn’t help but want to reach out and touch them, just to see how they felt.
“All done already?”
“Yeah, I didn’t wash my hair, so it was faster. By the way, how’s your novel coming along?” Ye Xuan walked over to her.
“Well~ I just uploaded it today, but it hasn’t passed review yet. It shouldn’t be an issue, but I wonder if anyone will actually read it.” Ling Ning sighed, sounding a bit resigned.
“They will,” Ye Xuan said, her gaze unconsciously drifting downward—drawn to that deep, endless chasm that seemed to have an inexplicable allure. After silently repeating “I am not a pervert” three times, Ye Xuan forced herself to look away. She suddenly realized just how easy it was to be entranced by beauty.
“Yawn~” Ling Ning let out a soft, sleepy yawn, then said to Ye Xuan, “It’s getting late. Let’s go to bed. We’ve got work tomorrow.”
“Yeah~”

Actually, the bed was quite roomy. With Ling Ning hugging Ling Ye, she took up just a little over half the space, leaving plenty of room for Ye Xuan. This was the first time Ling Ning had shared a bed with another girl besides her daughter, but she felt nothing at all—she was fast asleep in no time.
Ye Xuan, on the other hand, found it hard to sleep. The scent of Ling Ning’s body seemed almost magical, making it impossible for her to calm down. It was a long time before she finally drifted off.

Author’s Note:
The salted fish has changed the protagonist’s pen name to “Zero.” Please stop asking if the salted fish has a daughter…
