How about Cosmic Horror?

Chapter 0 - A

It’s not surprising that one day you wake up and find yourself in the hospital. You must’ve been in an accident.

Losing some of your memory as an aftereffect is understandable. Though forgetting you’re married and your spouse’s existence is a bit shocking, it isn’t as if amnesia discriminates and erases less important memories first.

Wasn’t this a familiar trope?

It was a common theme in media, so I’d built up a tolerance.

When the doctor told me, I even thought, ‘So it finally happened to me.’ Especially since I was kind of hoping for a dramatic event in my otherwise boring life.

When I heard my husband was on his way, I felt a flutter of excitement.

What does he look like?

It would be great if he was handsome, but I didn’t think I’d be disappointed even if he wasn’t. We must’ve gotten married for other charms. After all, looks weren’t everything.

However, when I saw the ‘husband’ who entered my hospital room, I couldn’t help but be terrified.

Waking up in a hospital bed wasn’t that surprising.

Losing some memories due to the accident’s aftereffects, forgetting about being married and even my husband’s existence, was all understandable.

“Honey, how are you feeling?”

But a tentacle monster in a suit as my husband? It was beyond surprising; completely beyond my understanding!
