Housekeeper in the dungeon

Chapter 27

Episode 27

Hee-won interrupted the conversation while O-saek was lost in thought.

“By the way, what kind of skills do you have as a housekeeper, besides the housekeeping skill?”

“Well, this and that……. It’s mostly about getting better at household chores.”

Hee-won nodded in understanding.

“That’ll help you get by. But you shouldn’t be a hunter because it’s dangerous.”

Hee-na shouted in exasperation.

“Nam-i, don’t even think about being a hunter from now on!”

“No, I didn’t think it would be like this either. I went for a safe job this time. An acquaintance told me they were recruiting for a dungeon raiding team, so I went, but who knew it would be a job scam and human trafficking?”

Hee-won sighed and raised her hands in surrender.

“I won’t do this again. I’ve been thinking a lot about this, and I’ve been worried about what you’ll do without me.”

“That’s right. We’re the only two people left in the world, and what will I do without you? So please take care of yourself and work! Now that I’m making money, I can have some fun. You don’t have to make a lot of money, just do safe and easy things.”

“Okay, okay.”

Hee-won took Hee-na’s hand and stroked the back of it slowly as if to comfort her. Hee-na shook her hand away, pretending not to like it.

“You’re embarrassing me!”

Her brother’s hands were rough and full of scars. They were the marks of the last ten years, of his struggle to survive with his sister.

Hee-na turned her head away and hid the tears that threatened to fall.

“Anyway…… that’s it. Now that I’m employed by the Blue Dragon Guild, I make more money than before. I don’t have to work overtime, so you can take a break for a while and think about what you want to do. You can play for years and I won’t say anything.”

Hee-won giggled and teased Hee-na.

“You’re going to say something like that and then regret it later when you say you’re tired of raising a bastard?”

“Never mind. You’ve been raising me.”

Hee-na slapped the back of her brother’s hand and glared at him. She was a master at breaking the ice.

Amid this emotional moment, Hee-Na decided to ask the question she’d always wanted to know.

“Brother, what is your Awakening profession class?”

“Why? You’ve never asked me that before.”

“I used to think that Awakened people were all the same……. I didn’t care.”

Hee-Na scratched her head.

In truth, she hadn’t understood the importance of Awakening classes when she was a normal person.

However, after her Awakening and meeting other Awakened in the Blue Dragon Guild, she realized how diverse and important they were.

Naturally, I was curious about my brother’s class. I vaguely knew that he was a D-class, but I never asked him what class he was or what skills he had.

“Plus, I didn’t want him to get hurt working as an Awakener……. so I didn’t want to know more.”

“Ha……. Haha. Isn’t that right?”

Hee-woon laughed embarrassedly at Hee-na’s sincere confession. The lighthearted atmosphere was about to turn serious again.

Hee-won quickly changed the subject.

“But my class is also kind of funny. You know you shouldn’t laugh at it, right? I’m not supposed to laugh at you.”

Hee-na raised her eyebrows at his bravado.

“I’m not laughing.”

Oddly enough, Hee-na was confident she wouldn’t lose. What Awakening class could beat a ‘housekeeper’?

“We’ll see about that.”

In response to my sneer, Hee-Na slapped her chest. It was exciting.

“What the hell is it? Don’t be a dick, just tell me.”

“I’m a little nervous because it’s the first time I’ve talked to you.”

“Hurry up!”

Hee-na urged, and Hee-won raised her hands in a sign of surrender. Then she opened her mouth.

“I’m also a hidden class, a D-class ‘farmer’.”

“Huh?”

Hee-na’s eyes widened at the unimaginable Awakening class.

A Class D ‘Farmer’? What the hell does that mean?

“Oh, aren’t you Hunter?”

Hee-won asked in confusion.

“Yep. Even if you’re a D-class non-combatant, your stats are higher than a normal person’s, so it’s worth it to take on easy jobs.”

“What the… …….”

Hee-Na was at a loss for words. All the arrogant thoughts in her head had passed.

From the basic question of what kind of class was ‘Farmer’, to imagining what her brother’s feelings must have been like to jump into the Hunter job with such a peaceful Awakening class, and how much he must have struggled until now…….

Reading Hee-Na’s complicated expression, Hee-Won slowly began to explain.

“The reason I wasn’t surprised when you told me you were awakened as a D-class housekeeper is because of my class. I’m a farmer, and you’re a housekeeper…. I thought, “Well, we’re still siblings, right? We’re from the same ‘gang’.”

Hee-won giggled, wondering what was so funny.

Hee-na couldn’t help but say something in disbelief.

“You can laugh so easily?”

“Uh, that’s funny.”

Hee-na’s stomach fluttered at the casual sound.

“There’s a reason you’re always injured, sick, and tired! I thought it was because your rank was low, not because you’re not a combatant!”

Hee-won retorted eagerly.

“No. Listen, Hee-Na, I didn’t do anything that dangerous. I only followed a bunch of real Hunters around. Besides, shouldn’t you have graduated from secondary school? Without the Hunter job, we would have starved to death. It’s the only way for a kid with no social experience to make that much money.”

Hee-won forced herself to open Hee-na’s lid. Hee-na screamed at the top of her lungs.

“Lee…… Lee Hee-won, you stupid bastard, what are you doing with your life? Your mom and dad would be so proud of you!”

There was a fierce atmosphere in the house. The system window flickered before my eyes.

At the same time, Hee-Na’s palm shot upward, then downward with a boom. The target was the back of her brother’s head, the one who had been talking about his life as if it were a joke.

Mate!

“Ack!”

Hee-won’s agonized screams echoed through the cramped studio as the kicks rang out.

“Aaaah! It hurts so much! It’s Hee-na! You’re killing me! Don’t hit me again! It hurts!”

Hee-won pressed her hands to her back and squirmed. Hee-won rarely cried, but when she did that, it hurt.

“Landlord, you have a nasty hand. Violence condemned!”

Oh Sae-yi, who had been exploring the explanation of the spatial sculpture, sneakily interjected.

He crawled around Hee-won, who was rolling on the floor as if he knew the pain of being hit.

“Oops, sorry. I didn’t realize the skill would be cast…… sorry. Does it hurt much?”

Hee-na squatted down and apologized to her brother. Then she frowned.

“Why does the Pest Extermination skill keep triggering so many times?

It had been cast on the first time she saw the off-colored man in the house, and now it was cast on her brother.

While I’m glad to have the ability to use it against bad snipers, I’m not happy to see the number of innocent victims of Pest Extermination rise.

“……What’s with the non-combatant’s hands? Wow. I thought I was going to die.”

Hee-won muttered as he lay on the floor. Hee-Na flicked open the skill window and read.

“Pest Extermination. Rank D. The skill description is ……. The system window earlier said something about a threat to the peace of the household, and it said that it eliminates the cause.”

Hee-won clicked her tongue.

“Did the system decide that you’re upset with me and that I’m a threat to domestic tranquility?”

“……?”

It sounded plausible. Hee-won shook her head.

“That’s what the skill descriptions say, but it’s an earring for the ear and a nose ring for the nose. Well, whatever, it’s reassuring to know you have some sort of offensive skill. One punch hurts like hell.”

After a series of violent episodes, the atmosphere in the house was peaceful again.

Hee-won giggled at the pain in her back, and Hee-na apologized to her brother for hitting him.

In that sense, ‘Pest Extermination’ was indeed a peace-seeking skill.

“So, what kind of abilities does your Awakening class have? My Housekeeper class description is like this. ‘I can run a household with great skill!'”

Even looking at it again, it was a lousy description. Hee-won laughed and replied that it was funny too.

“I’m similar. Farmer. Rank D. ‘I can farm with great skill.'”

It was a description not unlike a housekeeper. Hee-Na stuck out her lips.

“If you’re so good at farming, why didn’t you come back to the village? I’m awakened as a housekeeper now, and I’m cleaning.”

Hee-won scratched her head in confusion.

“But that’s not…….”

Hee-na narrowed her eyes and asked.

“But, what? You didn’t go down because of me, did you?”

“No. No, it’s not that, it’s just that I didn’t have any skills that were useful.”

He went on to explain his farming skills.

“All of my farming skills only work on dungeon soil. If I went down to the countryside, I wouldn’t be much more than a shoveler or a good laborer.”

“Dungeon soil? Does that mean I can only farm inside the dungeon?”

“Clever, my brother.”
