Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 24

Episode 24

“It’s baggy and the sleeves don’t fold up, what can I do?”

They were supposed to sneak into the enemy’s lair, but before they could take a few steps, the hem of their clothes caught on the ground.

As he watched, Kang jin-hyeonheld out his hand.

“Could you please take off your robe again?”

“Yes…….”

Hee-na took off the robe and handed it to Kang. As he took the item back, he seemed to be trying to find another way.

“I’m sorry, I’ll have to find another way……”

I sighed and was about to say something.

Boom!

Before she could finish her sentence, the sound of ripping fabric rang out loudly.

Hee-Na was left speechless by the unexpected sight before her.

Boom, boom, boom!

Without hesitation, Kang Jin Hyun grabbed the hem of the robe and ripped it off.

As if he had hidden a blade in his fingers, the sturdy, tough-looking robe tore cleanly from his fingertips.

“Go, Hunter Kang Jin-hyun?”

Hee-na managed to regain her speech and opened her mouth. Kang jin-hyeonanswered her call with a brusque reply.

“Yes, sir. What did you call me for?”

“Did I do something wrong?”

Kang jin-hyeonfinished ripping off his clothes and replied.

“Did you do anything wrong, Ms. Lee? Not at all.”

“Then why are you suddenly tearing that expensive item, I mean, robe?”

The robe Kang jin-hyeonwas tearing wasn’t just any robe. It was an item made from dungeon byproducts.

Hee-na didn’t know the exact value of the item, but she knew it was incredibly expensive.

Even the most insignificant items fetched millions to tens of millions of won.

Even that robe that Kang jin-hyeonhad made out of rags was probably worth at least a few hundred million won. Even if he dismembered Hee-na’s body and sold it over and over again, it would still be a difficult amount to raise.

‘Has Hunter Kang jin-hyeondied?

It was not strange for Hee-na to think this under such circumstances.

Kang jin-hyeondidn’t seem to notice Hee-na’s strange, subtle gaze, and handed the torn clothes back to her.

“Try it on.”

Hee-na took the torn clothes without hesitation, as there was a strange power unique to S-class hunters, and then she realized.

“This is…….”

Kang jin-hyeonraised the corner of his mouth slightly as if he was pleased with Hee-na’s appearance in the robe.

“It should be the right length now.”

Hee-na lifted her arm and checked the robe’s cuffs. The sleeve that still covered the backs of her hands had shrunk to nine.

The hem, which had been clinging to the floor, had also shortened, grazing her knees.

This time, Hee-na was speechless with disbelief.

“Did you just tear up a billion dollars worth of clothes to make it fit my body? Did you just tear down an entire house, huh?

“Then let’s get going.”

Kang Jin-hyun, meanwhile, brushed his hands off in a cheerful manner, turned, and headed toward the mountain where the gate would be.

Hee-na stomped her feet in place, unsure of what to do.

When there was no sign of her following, Kang stopped and asked.

“Is there a problem?”

“Is it okay for me to ruin an expensive item like this?”

“It’s not that expensive. Items like this get worn out after a few wears anyway.”

I’ve heard that top hunters have a lot of money, so their consumption level is different from the average person.

In that context, the money sense of S-class Hunter Kang jin-hyeonwas outside the scope of Hee-na’s understanding.

‘I’d be embarrassed if he ripped a normal piece of clothing, but he ripped an incredibly expensive item and said he didn’t care.

Hee-Na could barely contain her gaping mouth.

“Since I ripped it, I won’t ask you to pay for it, so don’t worry and follow me.”

Kang jin-hyeonsnapped his fingers at Hee-na reassuringly, as if to say that he didn’t care about the money and just wanted to get going.

“Yes, yes, I’m coming! Wait!”

Hee-Na scrambled to pick up the pieces of her robe that had fallen to the floor and shoved them into her apron pocket.

She wasn’t sure what she was going to do with them right now, but she wasn’t about to throw away hundreds of millions of won worth of clothing in the wilderness.

With Hee-na in her shortened robe and Kang jin-hyeonhaving just spent hundreds of millions of won in the air, they walked hard and finally reached the mouth of the mountain.

It was a stone mountain in the middle of the wilderness, so it was more desolate than lush green.

“Is there any more information on the map, like which direction we should go?”

“Nope. It’s not a very detailed map…… just a dot on the picture of the mountain that says there’s a gate.”

“Then we’ll have to find the gate and start exploring. Ms. Lee, there’s a lot of security from here on out, so keep your footsteps low and stay close to my back.”

Hee-na followed behind Kang Jin-hyun, her nerves on edge.

“I never thought I’d experience something like this in my life.

Hee-na didn’t even like thriller movies. They make her heart race the whole time.

She couldn’t believe she was infiltrating the enemy’s stronghold.

As she climbed the stone mountain, holding her breath, she heard a distant noise. It was the sound of breaking stones and the rush of work.

I thought, “This must be the place where they were forced to work.

I felt nauseous and creeped out at the same time, thinking that I was right in front of a place where human rights had been erased.

“It’s an open pit mine. It looks like they’re mining something.”

Kang Jin-hyun, who has good eyesight, outlined the situation. Then his eyes lit up.

“The gate is open at the top of the open pit mine. There’s a high risk of escape, so the security is very tight.”

“I’m scared.”

I felt hopeless. If Kang jin-hyeonwas right, it meant that there was no way to avoid armed conflict.

Kang jin-hyeonput his hand on Hee-na’s trembling shoulder.

“Don’t worry. I’m only sneaking in here because it would be a hassle if there was a commotion, but I have enough force to deal with them.”

Kang Jin-hyun’s words were trustworthy, and he was right.

The closer they got to the open-pit mine, the more guards there were, but he managed to sneak past them, even with Hee-na in tow.

The sound of digging and shoveling dirt grew closer and closer.

Kang jin-hyeonstopped behind a large boulder and cautioned Hee-na.

“You have to be careful from here on out, and if there’s any extra time, I’ll carry Hee-na and run toward the gate.”

“Okay.”

“Don’t be too afraid. It’s like an easy game.”

Kang jin-hyeonwas giving ridiculous encouragement. Suddenly, a commotion erupted from the direction of the laborer. A loud voice boomed out.

“Stop! That’s enough!”

Hee-na’s ears instinctively perked up at the familiar voice.

“Huh? This voice?

It was a voice that should never be heard here. But it was also a voice that was hard to mistake.

Wasn’t it the voice she had heard for 25 years of her life?

“A man has fallen, I’m going to double my work, do something about this man!”

It was the voice of her brother, who had been missing for months.

“Go, go, go, Mr. Hunter! Wait a minute, let me see what’s going on.”

In a panic, Hee-Na huddled behind a rock and peeked out. She was rewarded with a clear view of the open pit.

Hee-Na’s eyes widened.

“……Brother!

There was her brother. He was shouting at the collapsed man, holding him up by the shoulders.

“Don’t stay still, somebody come out!”

He was even more frail than she remembered, covered in dirt and shouting for help.

The sight froze her in place.

“Are you in trouble?”

Kang whispered as he helped her to her feet.

Hee-na lifted her head and looked up at him. Tears welled up in her eyes and rolled down her cheeks.

“Hee-na?”

Seeing Hee-na’s tears, Kang jin-hyeonwas embarrassed, considering he had forgotten to call her “Ms. Lee Hee-na” the whole time.

But Hee-na couldn’t care less about the name change.

‘I didn’t go there to make money, but I was kidnapped? I didn’t know that, and I was waiting for her to come back someday………….

Tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered how she had said, “I’m worried, I’m worried, I’m worried,” and how she had been so indifferent.

My heart broke for my brother, who must have suffered in the past two months while Hee-na got a good job and was eating well.

“That’s my brother, that’s my brother, he hasn’t come home in a while, heh heh, I never thought he was held here……. Hmph.”

Hee-na didn’t even finish her sentence before she burst into tears. She didn’t dare cry out loud for fear of giving away her location to the enemy.

“Don’t cry. Shh, it’s okay, Hee-na.”

Kang jin-hyeontried to soothe her.

He didn’t seem to be used to this. His usual calmness was gone, his touch on her shoulder was stiff, and his expression was awkward.

Hee-Na wiped her face with the back of her hand, barely stifling her sobs.

“Black, hmph. Gak, I’m sorry for crying all of a sudden, sin, I’m sorry, you were embarrassed, weren’t you?”

“No. Anyone would be very surprised to know that their flesh and blood was being held in a place like that.”

Kang jin-hyeoncomforted Hee-na with a blunt but affectionate voice.

And then he said.

“Let’s get back to work, what’s all this commotion?”

A gravelly voice came out of nowhere, followed by a popping sound.

Hee-na was startled and tried to turn her head to look, but Kang jin-hyeonhad covered her eyes, so she couldn’t see anything.

“I don’t think you should see this.”

Kang Jin Hyun grabbed Hee Na’s shoulders and pushed her down, then pulled a dagger from his inventory and placed it in her hand.
