Housekeeper in the dungeon

chapter 08

Episode 8

* * * *

Hee-Na clapped her hands and cheered.

“We’re finally done!”

Five Colors clapped their cute antennae together, following Hee-Na’s lead.

“Wow, I did this, human victory, human victory.”

Hee-na congratulated herself as she gulped down the bottled water in her hand like it was beer.

It’s been three days since she started cleaning her studio. On the first day, she passed out while mopping the floor, and on the second day, she spent all day cleaning the bathroom.

The toilet was filthy. The lines were caked with mold.

Hee-na put laxative-soaked tissues on top of them. She then spent the rest of the day scrubbing the sink and toilet with a cleaning brush.

Cleaning the bathroom by herself was so exhausting that on the second day, she ate a total of twelve rows of kimbap.

But luckily, my “nimble fingers” skills paid off.

The more I cleaned, the shinier the tiles became. Even the grime and mold that seemed like it would never come off was eradicated by Hee-Na’s fingertips.

It took her a full day to get there. …….

On the third day, she cleaned the sink that came with the studio room. Fortunately, cleaning the sink wasn’t as much work as cleaning the floor or the toilet.

In the meantime, Hee-na raised the level of the ‘old basic studio’ from 2 to 5.

When she finished cleaning the toilet, her level increased by two levels at once, and when she cleaned the sink, her level increased by one level.

I also received rewards for leveling up.

The first one was an E-grade mattress bed, which was a bit of a shock to her, followed by an all-purpose bidet (A) that relieves constipation when you sit down, a refrigerator (C) that doesn’t make ice, and a mold killer (A).

Not bad considering the odds of randomization.

The five colors also got a little shinier.

I looked at its shell, which shimmered faintly like a rare mother-of-pearl craft, and had a late regret: “I should have named it Yonglong…….”.

If she leveled up a bit more, she could shine.

Hee-na laid down in her room while thinking about it.

“Ugh. I’m done. I’ll take my time with the wallpaper mold. I’m tired.”

“Bee. Bee.”

The colorful man who knew everything agreed for some reason.

The house was cleaned in a short time……, no, it was as if he was relieved to see his shell glowing in a short time.

“Let’s check the job search results, shall we?”

Hee-na turned on her phone with a heavy heart. Still no reply from her brother.

And she hadn’t heard from any of the many companies she’d sent her applications to. It was a tacit rejection.

“How can this be?”

Hee-na shook her head at the miserable reality. The economy is tough, and finding a job is tough, but I never thought it would be this hard.

But Hee-na didn’t give up easily. She continued to apply for jobs at other companies.

It hadn’t been a week since she’d been forced to leave her job, but she wasn’t one to play around.

To be more precise, she couldn’t stand not making money.

“After all this, I’m sure at least one company will contact you, right, Oh Sahk?”

“Not sure.”

The little snail struck the candle, but Hee-na wisely handled the situation by pretending she didn’t see the answer.

Then she pulled out a business card from her apron pocket, which had already gotten a bit curly. Hunter Woo Min-ah had given it to her, telling her to get back in touch.

“I thought she didn’t mean it. …….”

Hee-Na stared down at the card intently. The card had a blue dragon on it, and the words ‘Cheongryong Cheongryong’ were nicely emblazoned on it. Hee-na recognized it.

“It’s the Blue Dragon Guild.”

The Cheongryong Guild was one of the top five guilds in Korea. It was famous for having S-class Hunter Kang jin-hyeon as a member.

“Is that why he was so relaxed?

Hee-na nodded as she remembered Woo Min-ah’s ease with Kang jin-hyeon.

‘Even though they’re from the same company, it’s hard to imagine someone so scary……. Hunter Woo Min-ah must be a great person.

As if on cue, I searched the three letters of Woo Min-ah’s name on the Internet, and the portal site popped up with results.

[Woo Min-ah (age 26): 23rd ranked hunter in South Korea].

The first thing that popped up was Woo’s ranking. Hee-na’s eyes widened.

“She was the 23rd-best hunter in Korea, right?

It was an obscure ranking, not in single digits, so her face was unknown, but just being in the top 100 in Korea meant she was incredibly strong.

“You must have a lot of money, so I thought I’d treat you to a meal as a thank you…….”

Hee-na sighed heavily as she thought about the amount of money she had left in her bank account.

“……But I should at least say thank you, right?”

It wasn’t a lot of money, but it was enough to treat someone to a nice meal.

And Hee-Na was a grateful person. She’d lost her parents at a young age, and she knew firsthand how fragile the world can be.

“I’ll try texting first.”

Hee-Na grabbed her phone and typed out a text message, pressing hard on each letter.

She introduced herself as Hee-Na Lee, and said she was the person buried under leaves in the E-level jungle dungeon you rescued last time. It was a weird introduction, but it was the best I could do.

Rrrr…….

Within minutes of sending the text, my phone rang. It was Woo Min-ah. HeeNa nervously pressed the call button.

“Hello?”

– Finally! How are you?

“Yes. I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, but I’ve been doing fine.”

Then Wu Min’er laughed heartily.

– By the way, are you free today? I’m off today, would you like to grab a bite to eat?

“Oh, yes. I’m also off today……. I’m free today.”

Hee-na was overwhelmed by Woo-min-ah’s momentum and agreed to go out for dinner.

Woo Min-ah quickly arranged a time and place to meet and then ended the call.

“In a flash…….”

Somehow, I felt incredibly manipulated.

But Hee-na consoled herself that it was probably for the best since she was going to buy a meal anyway.

* * *

“I told you to come here…….”

Hee-na stood at the entrance of the butcher shop, where there were few people since her appointment was at 3:30.

Only a tall customer was grilling meat, but for some reason, the back of his head looked familiar.

“Is it you, Umin, Hunter?

The customer turned his head as if he felt the stare. It was Woo Min-ah.

“You’re here! Come quickly. Sit down, sit down. I’m eating a lot. So I’ve been eating to fill up beforehand.”

Woo Min-ah waved her hand happily. Hee-na bowed her head and sat down in front of her.

“Hello, my dear. How have you been?”

“I’ve been fine, but you seem a little out of shape. Have you been through a lot of trouble?”

To be fair, I had been through a lot.

I’ve been cleaning my apartment for a few days, and I’ve lost some weight. Unfortunately, there was no trace of the dozens of rows of kimbap I had eaten.

Woo Min-ah made a pitying face and ordered more.

“You should eat a lot too. Mr. Boss, here are three more servings of pork belly!”

Since there were only two customers, Hee-na and Woo-min-ah, the meat came out quickly.

“Oh, I’ll grill the meat.”

Hee-na stopped Woo-min-a from picking up the meat tongs. It was impolite to let her benefactor grill the meat.

Hee-na firmly believed that she was the best at grilling meat, so she always grilled meat at the company, regardless of her position.

With a sizzling, sizzling sound, the pork belly was placed on the hot plate.

‘This is delicious.

Hee-na’s mouth was watering, as she had only been eating convenience store food for the past few days.

“It should be really good.

Just as she was thinking that the system window notified her of a skilled cast.

Hee-na was surprised by the sudden skill, but she continued to grill the meat as if nothing had happened. She couldn’t think about anything else.

“Wow. You’re good at grilling meat! It’s different from the beginning.”

Woo Min-ah marveled at the skillful way he flipped and cut the pork belly.

“I used to be in charge of meat at my company.”

She replied, placing the cooked meat in a circle on the edge of the grill. It was ready to eat.

“Go ahead. The one I grilled today looks especially delicious.”

Hee-Na placed a piece of meat on the plate in front of Woo-Min-Ah. Then she picked up a piece of meat and put it in her mouth.

“Delicious!”

Woo exclaimed. Hee-Na agreed with her.

As soon as she chewed, juices splashed out of her mouth. It tasted like a meat fairy was doing a ballet in her mouth. It was perfect in more ways than one.

At that moment, Hee-Na and Woo-Min-Ah’s gazes locked together, and their hearts connected. Immediately, Woo-Min-Ah raised her hand and shouted.

“Mr. Boss, I want three more servings, no, four more servings!”

Hee-na and Woo-min-ah ordered meat as if they were going to eat the entire restaurant, and without a word, they grilled, ate, grilled, ate, and ate.

How much time had passed?

Hee-Na was the first to wake up. She was the first to wake up.

“I’m full, I’m full…….”

Gasping and holding her bloated stomach, Woo Min-ah woke up as if from a dream.

“Hmph. You didn’t say a word, you just ate and ate, didn’t you?”

“That’s right, I was completely focused on eating.”

When I answered in a groggy voice, Woo Min-ah quickly grabbed Hee-na’s hand.

“Hee-na, do you want to be my sister? I’ve never seen anyone grill meat so well in my life. This is the best meat I’ve ever eaten!”

Hee-na’s grilling skills have earned her a perfect twist on the No. 23 spot in Korea’s Hunter Rankings.
