Chapter 5: The Man From The Stars IV
(Drakken's POV)
I was crouching down next to a stream, whistling loudly as I scooped up water from the stream into a canteen that I had acquired from one of the men that had so annoyingly attacked me when I first landed here.
"Hm..." I said as I stood up, looking up at the cloudy sky
It was a mundane and relatively peaceful world so far, this entire place. I did not sense one bit of Ether anywhere, save for the one that was slowly building up inside my own body. It was dreadful, the feeling of a single fiber of ether forming inside me. The fact that this was a foreign world that was completely different than Infernis made it so that I shouldn't be surprised that this was the case.
Yet, I was annoyed.
That is all I felt at the moment, annoyance.
I was somewhere near where a town that the girl, Elissa, said was called Tumbleton. What a stupid name it was. We had been walking for who knows how long, I had given her food and water that I had, to keep her from starving.
I did not need it as much as she did; the poor thing was very fragile. After spending all that time in the Scar-Kings' prison, I forget that humans are quite fragile, those that do not know Sorcery at least. And these humans are as brittle as a dumb cookie, if I am being honest, the humans from this world.
I sighed and turned around, annoyed at the fact that I was getting nowhere near where I wanted to, "This entire situation is giving me a headache." I said as I walked back towards the camp I had made with the girl, "I do not feel an ounce stronger....if only my ether would recharge faster than whatever I got going on right now."
I heard a scream, in the distance where the girl was.
I frowned, "What now...."
I walked through some brush and saw that there were multiple men in the site that I had set up. Two of them were holding the girl, Elissa, by the arms, trying to pin her down as she struggled to fight back. The other men were looting the bags that I had acquired over the journey, which had not been long.
I stopped and cleared my throat, "Ahem." I said, "What is going on here?"
The men all jumped up in surprise, "W-What?" one of them said
The girl was crying, "H-H-Help me!" She cried as the men had her pinned down to the ground, "Please!"
I crossed my arms and tilted my head, "What are you doing to the girl?"
"Mind your fucking business, fucker!" one of the men said
"Get lost!!" another yelled
"You see, this is my campsite and that girl is my guide to King's Landing." I said as I boringly looked at them, "I would appreciate it if you let her go."
"I don't think so." The man who held her down, pressing his body on her, "She's ours now."
I sighed and looked at the girl, "You were so worried about me defiling you and now you have these hoodlums attempting to do that to you." I said as I walked over, "What a stupid little thing you are. I told you to come with me and gather water, but no, you said no. Did you try to run away?"
"Hey what do you thin-" one of the men that was looting my bags stood up
"Fuck off." I said as I smacked him with the back of my hand
I felt as my hand sent him flying towards the ground, he made a grunting sound.
"The fuck?" the other man said as I walked to the girl
I reached down and pulled the men from her, tossing them behind me with ease. As they grunted in pain, I crouched down and began to pat down the girl's dress.
She was sobbing, "I...." She said, "I did not ask for this...."
"There there...." I said as I began to wipe tears away from her face, "You should bathe, get this dirt off you, little thing. You should not cry this much, your tears will dry out and you will be more exhausted than usual."
"Please....let me go...." she pleaded
"Hold that thought." I said with a slight smile
I stood up and watched as the group of men began to gather around, drawing their weapons on me. It was just a bunch of steel daggers and such.
I sighed and waved my hand in front of me.
I then saw as they were all cut up, blood spraying from their bodies as they collapsed to the ground, groaning in pain. Most of them were dead as I had aimed for their throats but I realized that I missed on the other two.
"Tch..." I said with a scowl, "This is stupid.....even my accuracy is all messed up...."
I walked over to the first man, he was tan and had black hair. He looked at me as he clutched his chest, a massive gash was bleeding.
I stomped on his chest as I felt his ribcage shatter, twisting my foot as his eyes widened in shock and I felt his lifeforce leave his body.
"Hm...." I said as I pulled my foot away, "Let me try....."
I reached down and grabbed the guy's throat, focusing. I felt a slight tug from his body, an invisible force was being pulled from his freshly deceased body and enter my body.
I was draining whatever little lifeforce he had. It was minuscule, barely noticeable, like a dust gathered onto my body. But.....I felt a difference, a microscopic amount of power was added to myself.
I straightened up as the last guy was getting to his knees, "Interesting..." I said, "I never liked the Vampiric Touch....truthfully, Viktor was a fool for teaching me that. But oh well, beggars can't be choosers. Until I encounter a dragon, I should stick with this. But I definitely should not over do it. I hate draining human lifeforce, I prefer taking Ether away."
I flicked my wrist at the guy, his throat bursting with blood as it was sliced open. I did not even feel the need to do the Vampiric Touch on him, even if it gave me a bit more than the one I just used it on.
I let out an exhale, "I am getting bored here...." I said, "Hey, girl."
I looked over at the girl, she was sitting up, covering her chest which was exposed because her dress was ripped apart.
"Y-Yes?" She managed
"Are you sure we will reach King's Landing soon?" I asked,
"I'm getting annoyed here."

[The Red Keep, A Few Days Later]
(Third Person POV)
"A trail of bodies..." Septon Barth said as he pointed at the map on the board, "From the Fallen Star site to Ashford....and from Ashford...to Tumbleton.."
Prince Aemon frowned, "You don't think..."
"This is too convenient." King Jaehaerys said as he narrowed his eyes, "This is relation to the Fallen Star."
They were in the Small Council Room, Prince Aemon Targaryen was summoned by his father and the three of them were discussing some reports that were given by Lord Baratheon. They had followed a trail of bodies that led to Ashford and Tumbleton.
"A tavern in Ashford was left in ruins after a fight broke out." Septon Barth said, "Two dead and many were injured. Apparently, the owner's daughter was kidnapped by the man causing the fight. The owner was among the injured and two sellswords were brutally killed; their necks cut halfway through, their heads dangled to the side."
Jaehaerys frowned, "Do you think this has to do with the Fallen Star?" He said, "A man?"
"I do not know what to think." Septon Barth said, "But it could be related. A Star falls on the Dornish Marches and there is a trail of bodies that leads to an incident in Ashford and goes straight to Tumbleton where three more soldiers were cut down by someone. I believe this man has something to do with it."
"A man?" Aemon said, "From the Fallen Star? Is that even possible?"
Jaehaerys placed his hand on his chin, "This...." He said, "I....this does not sound good at all....."
"I have a terrible feeling about this."
