NOVEL NEXT Chapter 19: The Wedding
Luna, Natsu, Lucy, Elise, and Happy were heading back to the guild after completing their first job together in a while as a team. On their way back, Luna noticed Lucy was acting strange. She asked her what was wrong and she ended up confessing her feelings for Natsu and how she felt about him getting married to Luna. She wasn't opposed to it by any means, but it did hurt her inside. She felt like a third wheel in their team. Natsu managed to comfort and calm her down. It seemed that all had been settled and the five of them continued to walk back to the guild together. But Luna was still a little troubled by what Lucy said. She didn't want to hurt her best friend's feelings, but they had both fallen for the same guy and he chose Luna so there wasn't really anything that could be done. One way or another whether Natsu chose Luna or Lucy, someone would've ended up getting hurt emotionally. Just as they arrived at the guild, Luna stopped in her tracks before the building.
"Lucy... I... I'm sorry... I..." Luna started to apologize to Lucy who approached her and took her hands in hers.
"You don't have to apologize. There's not really anything that you can do about it, it's unavoidable. Besides, I'll be okay. There's plenty of fish in the sea as they say. Just do me a favor and live your happiest life with Natsu, okay Luna?" Lucy said as she pulled Luna into a hug. Tears began to form in Luna's eyes.
"Thank you Lucy. I wish you luck in finding love yourself. I'm sure you'll be able to catch the attention of a great guy easily." Luna said as she hugged Lucy back.
"Thanks, I appreciate your faith in me." Lucy said with a chuckle. Natsu looked at the girls curiously, wondering what they were talking about.
"Hey are we going in or what?" Natsu said to get the girls' attentions as he walked up to the guild's double doors. Luna and Lucy looked at Natsu and smiled.
"Yeah, we're coming." Luna and Lucy said as they walked towards Natsu. He opened one of the doors and held it open for the girls as they went inside, followed by Elise and Happy. Over the next sixteen days, Luna, Natsu, Lucy, Elise, and Happy take on jobs together as a team one after another.

It was August 27, the day Natsu and Luna were going to get married. The Kardia Cathedral was packed with the participants of the wedding and the rest of their friends. The music started playing and since Luna had no mother, her biological mother passed away from an illness when she was a baby and her dragon foster mother was gone as well, Natsu was the first one to walk down the aisle. He was followed by Gray Fullbuster who surprisingly was his best man, the groomsmen: Gajeel Redfox, and Elfman Strauss, the bridesmaids: Erza Scarlet and Juvia Lockser, Lucy Heartfilia who was the maid of honor, Wendy Marvell the flower girl, and Romeo Conbolt the ring bearer, and last but not least, Luna who walked down the aisle with Makarov Dreyar who was the closest thing to a father figure that she had. When everyone took their spots, the officiant made some opening remarks followed by the reading of a romantic poem read by Levy McGarden. Then at the altar, Natsu and Luna stood before each other in front of everybody to exchange vows. Natsu lovingly grabbed Luna's hands in his and began stating his vows.
"Luna Crystelle, I feel so lucky to have someone like you in my life. I promise to love and cherish you, to protect you, and always be there for you for the rest of my days." Natsu finished his vows as he lightly squeezed Luna's hands.
"And Natsu Dragneel, you're the love of my life, my soulmate. You're the flame that keeps me going. I promise to do the same for you, to be the person that always loves and supports you no matter what. Even if times get tough, I will always be by your side for the rest of my life." Luna finished her vows, squeezing Natsu's hands back. Then they exchanged rings. Natsu slid Luna's wedding band on her ring finger. It was gold with a red ruby gemstone in the shape of a curved teardrop. It interlocked perfectly with her engagement ring which was silver with a curved teardrop shaped light blue aquamarine gemstone, forming a sparkly red and blue yin yang symbol when put together. Luna then placed Natsu's wedding band on his finger. His was half gold and half silver with tiny red fire opals on the gold half and equally tiny blue opals on the silver half encircling the entire ring. After they finished exchanging rings, the officiant began the pronouncement. He turned to Natsu.
"Do you, Natsu Dragneel, take Luna Crystelle, to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as you shall live?" The officiant asked Natsu.
"I do." Natsu said, giving Luna a gentle smile. The officiant then turned to Luna.
"Do you, Luna Crystelle, take Natsu Dragneel, to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, as long as you shall live?" The officiant asked Luna whose eyes were brimming with tears of joy.
"Yes, I do." Luna said as she smiled brightly at Natsu.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." The officiant announced as Natsu grabbed Luna's hand with one hand and swiftly placed his other hand on her back and pulled her in close and kissed her passionately. Everyone cheered and clapped as they kissed.

After the ceremony, the wedding party went to take wedding photos then joined everyone else that was invited at the reception which was held at the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. The guild was decorated elegantly for the reception. Everyone had dinner and a few people had toasts to make. Gray went first.
"Natsu, we don't really get along most the time so I was surprised when you asked me to be your best man. But you're still my friend and guild mate. Now Luna, you're like a sister to me. I mean we both have ice powers. I'm glad you found true love, even if it happens to be that flame brain. But if it means you're happy, I'm happy. Congratulations you two." Gray said raising his glass as the rest of the guild followed his lead as Lucy went next.
"Luna, Natsu, we've been through a lot together. You both have helped me countless times and even saved my life a few times. And Luna, even though we both fell in love with Natsu, I just couldn't see you as a love rival. You're my best friend after all. So live your happiest lives together you two and congratulations!" Lucy said, raising her glass in a toast. After everyone that wanted to make a toast said their piece, the first dance ensued. Natsu gently led Luna by the hand to the center of the floor where they began to slow dance to the romantic music with everyone eventually joining them pair after pair. After the song was done playing, Natsu and Luna cut the wedding cake together. After the cake cutting, it was time for the bouquet toss. Luna threw her bouquet up behind her and the girls all scrambled to catch it. Juvia ended up catching the flowers. She immediately ran over to Gray, hugging him tightly.
"I caught the bouquet! Looks like we're getting married next my Darling Gray!" Juvia said excitedly as Gray cringed in her arms. Upbeat music began to play and everyone started crowding up on the dance floor. After the dancing there were fun activities like arm wrestling, pool, bean bag toss, shuffle board, etc. Once the wedding reception was over, Natsu and Luna went back to their cottage to pack for their honeymoon, along with Happy and Elise.
