Honkai: Man(Sludge) From Future

Chapter 20: Bronya: Just Ask Me Already!

"Can you please not take away humanity's reproductive rights? I think it's pretty good when people have kids on their own. I'm begging you, how about... I turn into a pony for you too?"

Kiana thought for a long time and came up with this terrible idea.

Who knew Noldrei would sigh, shake his head, and pull out a tablet from who-knows-where, and start educating her about the pain of childbirth and the voices of online feminists.

"They're already suffering so much, why can't you be a little more considerate? I know you got a future person's body, but childbirth is something that can clearly be handled by outsiders."

Of course, he was just messing with her. Every time humanity gives up control over itself, there are hidden social contradictions that emerge.

It's like how early humans definitely wouldn't have thought that they needed to follow traffic rules when going anywhere.

They would just think, "I want to go wherever I want," and that having to follow rules for going back and forth was just plain crazy.

Noldrei was trying his best to teach Kiana in a way she could understand.

Even though this method was hard for Kiana to understand, not just in her head, but also in the heads of the three remaining ponies.

In their eyes, Noldrei seemed like a tyrant who was ruling for the sake of ruling.

In reality, Noldrei just wanted to make sure humanity suffered less in the future.

He quickly understood from Kiana that his policies were ahead of their time.

The so-called "ahead of their time" wasn't about the execution, but about the understanding. Modern people couldn't even imagine what kind of cruel contradictions would make them give up their reproductive rights.

He had finally found a way to use the "Honkai" as a trash can to deal with it, but now it seemed like he needed to postpone it.

Noldrei didn't actually want his only ancient counterpart to go astray.

"Really? Aren't those just isolated cases...?"

Kiana was about to be driven crazy by these online lunatics. These people didn't even know how much she was sacrificing for humanity's reproductive rights.

It was all because of these people talking nonsense online that the future person was taking their words seriously.

'You bunch of dogs, you're forcing me to come down on you hard.'

Kiana had already started thinking about teaching these people a lesson.

'There's actually a future person who wants to solve their problems once and for all?'

'Noldrei! You're such a weirdo!'

"I still hope you can support me. Based on my observations of ancient humans, they have deep-seated thinking problems."

Noldrei seriously explained, "Many people know that 'everything is interconnected,' but when they exercise their own power, they constantly emphasize 'the uniqueness of the individual.' In your internet slang, that's just plain 'double standards'."

"No power comes from nowhere, and the surrender of reproductive rights is the same. Guess what people in the future encountered that made them willing to give up their reproductive rights to maintain that kind of society?"

"It must have been an unspeakable, immense pain. You'll live a long time..."

Noldrei's words made Kiana give up on thinking. Her mind was blank, and she couldn't imagine what had happened in that future.

But she understood what Noldrei said next...

"You'll definitely be able to witness that conflict with your own eyes."

His words were meaningful, as if he had already seen that day coming. He really wanted to know what direction his counterpart would choose.

Kiana felt a strange sense of unease, like she was being threatened. Even though Noldrei had already threatened her when they first met, she was the one who shot first. Who wouldn't be scared of a blobby monster?

Noldrei's current actions were more like an aggressive threat to her way of thinking, trying to destroy the worldview she had built.

"Don't talk about that stuff. I haven't even thought about what humanity's future will be like. It's good enough if I can just survive the present. What do you expect me, a normal girl who wandered over from Europe, to know about all this? You might as well just find a school for me to go to."

Kiana knew she couldn't stay trapped in front of Noldrei. If she kept going like this, she would be mentally and physically exhausted.

But her body was telling her she could still handle it.

Just some aggressive ideas from a future person, nothing to worry about.

"Yes, I was also planning to check out the education system of this era. The online experience isn't real. It's all ads, and I can't find what I need. It's not even as close to my imagination as the online novels. They have such useful tools, but they're all filled with obviously fake content."

Noldrei was very frustrated. Even if he could replace all of humanity in the process of reproduction, he couldn't change how people currently perceive "people."

If he were to produce them himself, he would definitely tell the parents, "This blob of goo contains your love genes. Treat it like your own child and raise it well."

Just thinking about it was enough to know how shocking that would be for the parents.

Noldrei also didn't want the current primitive humans to remain so conservative.

"That's because you chose the wrong places. Aren't there a lot of useful forums? Just go look at the students' complaints there. If that doesn't work, just find a way to sneak into a school and see. I don't think you need to actually go to class."

Kiana didn't think Noldrei needed to go to school. He could even write new genetic equations himself, why would he need to go to school and look at outdated content?

"That makes sense..."

Noldrei was thoughtful, he seemed to have found a good direction.

He turned to the three ponies and said, "Find a place for them to stay for now. I'll find a suitable horse farm for you soon."

"You have no intention of turning them back?!"

Kiana was shocked. She knew Noldrei was inhuman, but she never thought he'd go this far.

"They're important bait. Someone will come looking for them soon. I need to see the quality of the people behind them. I hope their tech tree won't disappoint me."

'Ask me! Ask me! If you ask me, I'll tell you!'

Bronya-Rainbow Dash kept jumping around, trying to get Noldrei's attention.

She couldn't fall here, she absolutely couldn't stay a pony forever!

'Just ask me already! Just ask me already!'

Bronya was about to be driven crazy by this monster. She finally understood why the purple pony next to her was so irritable.

If she were ignored and confined like this, it would be strange if she didn't go crazy.
