Chapter 15: Bronya: Who's Pulling Off This Stunt?
"Why does Raiden Mei look like that?"
Two drill-like sensors wobbled in front of the scope.
A big head on a small neck popped out a question mark.
The current Raiden Mei looked neither like a refined young lady, nor like an awakened Honkai warrior.
In Bronya's eyes, she seemed more like…more like…
A slightly aloof and cool-looking girl.
Her gaze was somewhat languid, her lips were slightly downturned, and her messy, loose hair added a touch of sharpness.
The 'Raiden Mei' in front of her was a bit off.
Bronya had come to investigate the situation under orders from her boss.
This leads to another matter entirely.
Someone was using Honkai energy detection equipment, recklessly scrawling words on other people's devices using energy waves.
One after another, 'F**K YOU' messages composed of waves flew across the screen.
It was clear that the person using the Honkai energy was very ill-mannered.
The use of English was likely because other languages weren't as easy to write out that way.
If that powerful individual could write a complete sentence in Chinese using waves, Bronya would acknowledge them as the absolute strongest.
"Is Raiden Mei really this cool? She broke a wall with a single punch."
The chaotic school didn't disrupt Bronya's monitoring. She watched the bizarre scene unfold while munching on potato chips.
Bronya knew that she couldn't beat the current Raiden Mei.
This made Bronya feel a slight twinge of melancholy. She felt that this world was simply too difficult.
How could someone crack a building with a single punch?
And here she was, an orphan, having to think about how to kidnap a girl with a father?
Kiana was also stuck in a stalemate.
She stood on the school field, watching the current scene in confusion.
Was he playing me? I've made such a commotion, so why haven't the masterminds behind the scenes shown up yet?
Kiana was currently unaware that because of the strength she had displayed with her punch, the other side had become much more cautious and was hiding even more carefully.
Raiden Mei was indeed alluring, but Bronya still needed to protect her own life to go find her "good friend".
Her mission to retrieve Raiden Mei had been forced into a standstill.
What should we do? *2
Both of them were in a bind. The situation had unexpectedly reached an impasse at this moment.
Meanwhile...
.......
Schicksal Far East Branch - Conference Hall
Theresa Apocalypse
A shorty who was running an independent armed force under the guise of a school, someone who couldn't prove that she was a mature woman in any way besides her age.
"What on earth is going on?! Has the Honkai evolved to this degree?"
The images coming from the reconnaissance aircraft above Nagazora City showed a peaceful scene.
But the fluctuations on the Honkai energy detection equipment were utterly terrifying.
"Why is it possible to maintain such a high concentration of Honkai energy, while simultaneously restraining it from spreading to this degree?"
Theresa was perplexed.
This had completely exceeded her understanding of Honkai energy.
But then she thought, it was Honkai energy, after all, what couldn't it do?
This kind of way to curse people by using wave patterns seemed quite possible. Maybe the Herrscher just had a fondness for it?
"And this, what's going on? Why did someone suddenly hijack the city's communication equipment and declare that they are becoming Emperor?"
"Why is something like this happening?!"
"Is Schicksal's deterrent power not enough? Or is it a spy sent over from Anti-Entropy?"
"They're mocking me! Someone is mocking me, the S-Rank Valkyrie of the Far East!"
Theresa was furious. This had really hurt her too much.
She had never seen such an arrogant Herrscher, and it was even targeting her in this manner.
Even if the Herrscher's intelligence level was relatively high, there was no need to be so abstract, right? If the Herrscher wasn't going to destroy human civilization, what's the big deal with just letting everyone give you a fiefdom in Africa and crown you Emperor?
"Any other news?"
Theresa inquired, wanting to know the situation from the local management personnel.
The manager, currently unsure as well, explained hesitantly, "Uh, I don't know if I should say this...it's just a little ridiculous... Raiden Mei is openly beating people up on the school field at Chiba Academy. It has caused quite a stir. Many people have uploaded videos of the incident online, rumors are flying, and the Armed Police have been dispatched to suppress the situation."
Hearing this, the little white-haired ball (Theresa) was completely dumbfounded.
The large screen on the conference table directly displayed the current surveillance situation.
Indeed, Raiden Mei was displaying divine might, anyone who tried to restrain her was knocked to the ground with a single punch or kick.
Anyway, this was something that Raiden Mei had done, what did it have to do with her, Kiana Kaslana?
To lure out the mastermind behind the scenes, Kiana naturally wouldn't accept the school's control. She would handle things however she saw fit.
Her current control over her body had reached an unimaginable level.
"Strong" was just an adjective, but that word couldn't fully describe her current state.
Theresa watched in shock as the young miss of the Raiden family displayed her power.
The school field was already littered with bodies. Miss Mei now had the style of Master Ip, and no one dared to approach her, afraid of getting sent to the shadow realm.
"Is she perhaps a Herrscher?" Theresa asked subconsciously.
"I don't know! No Honkai energy or anything like that has been detected on her. Although the city is permeated with high levels of Honkai energy, this energy is being contained and controlled in a very short time. This city is too strange, it's not just a Honkai problem..."
It was clear that the local Honkai observer had entered a state of low rationality.
It seemed that they had never encountered Honkai that wasn't actually behaving like Honkai.
Theresa also didn't know what to do.
They too were stuck in a deadlock.
......
Nagazora's discount Honkai techie, a second-rate Otto, and a third-rate villain making it up as she goes, Cocolia was also at an impasse.
The Honkai energy had been drained from under her nose, as if someone had successfully become a Herrscher and absorbed all of the Honkai energy.
Raiden Mei, right now, was doing something inexplicable. She was already fighting at the school, and seemed to be getting happier the more she fought.
Just now, her phone had suddenly received a call from someone claiming to be emperor.
You freaking should have told us who you are first!
If you don't say who you are, how would we know you're going to be emperor?
Could it be that there are people in this world who become emperor without even a name?
Just in case, Cocolia had also arranged for Bronya to "retrieve" Raiden Mei.
But things weren't that simple.
For some inexplicable reason, Raiden Mei's martial arts had greatly improved, as if she had received an empowerment from a great master, and she easily broke through the load-bearing wall of a school building with a light punch.
Chiba Academy was a private school with a relatively reputable name, and the building had quality assurance, so there was definitely no shoddy workmanship involved in that punch.
Bronya naturally postponed her actions, deciding to continue observing Raiden Mei's situation.
The facts proved that Bronya's actions were correct.
The Armed Police forces that had rushed in were already lying on the ground in a small pile.
And Raiden Mei wasn't even breaking a sweat.
"Sugoi... Subarashi..."
Bronya repeatedly expressed her admiration over the comms, even though those comments didn't sound like she had any emotional fluctuations.
But her comments made the story scene even more abstract.
