[Shark cookies for Chloe]

Once again we had been granted a look onto the household of two operatives from Secret Society Holo-X. More specifically, its a house of Lui Takane (a mature big sis like hawk girl, a secretary looking, executive officer of the Holo-X team) and Chloe Sakamata, (a free mind Orca girl, a gothic assassin looking Intern in role of fixer or a cleaner in Holo-X team).

Chloe was doing work in the living room, when Lui walked through door, holding some mailed box under her arm. As she walk to the room she call to her roommate. "Sakamata, did you order something?" That grain the attention of Chloe who risen her head to look her way, her expression spoke clearly that she is thinking but cant remember if she do that.

As Hawk put that box on a kitchen table, Orca arrived to to glance at the mail package. "Do you think its a money?" Her eyes shined by stars as she imagined that box, to be filled by loots of valuable bills with loots of zeros.

"Who sending a money, through a mail? We have a banks for it."

"So what about (you owe me money), or (pay us bills)? Like for house, electricity, and so on…?"

"Now you infect me to expect something inside it, that will make my eyes to shine with stars." Just wait here, I will open it. Turning just for a moment to pick up a knife for opening a letters, she return back wearing a bullet prof vest, military helmet and a heavy police atni-bullet shield. In the other hand she had this extending mechanical hand for reaching things that are outside of range.

Sakamata, frown. "What kind of mail you expect to receive when you have that at hand? Ridiculous. I opening it myself." Without a hesitation she skillfully opened the package, until she look into open cardboard box. "What is this? A contraband? No its a cooking set with an incidences."

"Now what kind of packages are you used to received, when contraband is the first thing that come to you mind?"

"Well, when I used to part-time as a courier…"

.

"On other hand I don't want to heard that. Look, there is a letter envelope. A fancy one."

"Ugh. A letters…" Rather that reaching for the paper, she start snoring through the content of the box.

.

"Maybe is a love letter."

"Or (paid us back!) threatening letter. They send us a suspicious cooking stuff. As if they try to hint, (make you last meal by yourself!)."

.

"Good point. Okay I will read it for you, pay attention." As she open the envelope, instead of paper an audio recorder fall out. It had a label attached on it, saying (play me!).

Of course Sakamata was from side glancing suspiciously at thatthing.

Without a word the taller girl pressed the play button.

Whats come out from it was a voice of a Gura Gawr, a friendly lazy lemon shark girl. Actually with the voice playing from that small device, one can imagine standing her there with them. Like she came visit her friend and help her with cooking. So she make her excited entry pose. "Hello my friend from north waters, its same desu~u, you friend Gawr Gura, a shark from Myth team."

This clearly make the orca girl to wide her eyes with excitement.

Shark voice continue in more normal tone. "That would be enough for a welcome pleasantries. Chloe,-- you maybe wondering (why?) you received this cooking set and ingredients. Well…" She become a shy. "Do you remember, how I promised you,-- that you can…" She hesitated to say the word, or searched for alternative. "...to have a little-- tiny bit… taste of me? To get the shark flavor?"

Orca, for which are sharks like a deserts, got hipped up with excitement in her eyes.

The blue friend continue to open her hart. "Okay, so listen. Since I don't like to be bitten, I was working on a round around solution. And yes-- its finished."

Chloe start to salivate from her happy face mount.

"So hear me out. I managed to produce enough shark essence extract to just work it once. Its on the mysterious looking vial bottle with the shark symbol." Then she shout. "Don't drink it stupid! You tummy will hurt."

At the same time as the shark shout, hawk hasty reach out her hand to grab orcas hand that hold already open vial, ready to pour that entire content into her full open predatory maw, all in one go. In (pour it down the throat) gesture. But Sakamata got confused as why she was stooped as if she dint even pay attention to Gura.

But shark shout once more. "Calm down stupid, and let me explain!" Sighing, she fix her voice posture. "To go pass the border customs, we had to improvise, and I sliced that extract of me heavily with a cinnamon. So they will not figure it out.Listen, for reasons, I cant be there. But I figured out how you can taste the shark anyway." She make some sound of words that sounded like excused, as if for why not a real shark, but sure she return to the topic. "Do you know a Taiyaki?, a Japanese fish-shaped cake, commonly sold as street food. It imitates the shape of tai (red sea bream), which it is named after. So~o... I prepared this recipe to make a shark cake as if it was ordinary sweet baking. Yet the secret shark ingredient will give it a shark flavor. On its own the content of vial will not release the secret until you follow the receipt. So, you can pause this recording, and resume to play it when you will be ready for our cooking seance."

Off screen, In mere moment of second there was a ringing of cooking equipment like pots and tools. When we look at the table, all was already prepared for the cooking of a deserts/pastry. Even the main cook/chef was already wearing a kitchen apron. Smiling wildly from ear to ear, with excitement in her eyes.

Lui rolled her eyes around.

And so, we can nearly see, (or imagine), as if the two water affinity girls, Chloe and Gura standing next to each other, working on the recipe, step by step: Mixing the dough. Making the filing of several variant, like red been pasta, chocolate, pudding or poppy pasta. Arguing how much of the secret ingredient put in, when Chloe wanted to pour an unmeasured amount directly at first one, while Gura empathized to use a tea spoon for an equal spread.

Meanwhile Lui giggled on side.

After they managed to fill the (metal baking sheet with molds), using all resource: They put them into oven and wait.

Gura continued to speak. "Don't have you face directly placed on the oven door, or you eyebrows get burn out."

Indeed, Sakamata had her face placed on the oven window, as she was to excited, eagle watching the metal molds forms.

As hinted Takane grabbed and drag the girl a little away from the oven.

Then a ringing on the timer clock, announce that cooking is done. So they put out the sheets from oven and following the instructions they put all the Taiyakies on fancy plate.

Gura continue with her speech. "Now, until no disaster occurred, we shall be done and in front of us…" She make a dramatic pause to deliver an announcement punch line. "Behold: A shark cakes, a shark-lings."

At this point Chloe was really drooling at the pastry in front of her, with hunger in her eyes.

But Gawr, hold her friend while making this maid cafe trope. "Now for the last touch. Let me cast a spell on it, where I put my love onto it." Making a really lovely soft voice, she began chanting/casting. "Moe, moe, ku~~un!"

The moment that gothic girl gently bite onto first taiyaki her eyes sparkle with happiness.

As the seance was on end, Shark decide to take a leave, while wishing a good appetite for her friend.

That's left us with Takane as she watched Sakamata to lose to that pleasure, going through one piece by another, increasing the devouring speed by each other. Heck one can even speculate that he saw the imaginary aura of super sayain level power up on her, as she seem to be on verge of passing onto nirvana. [afterlife, heaven, or peaceful higher plane/ state of existence, state of absolute peace]

Then at certain moment the hawk got (Oh shit!) expression, when camera taking a shot at her front side: And this shadow rise up over her, as if something big towering her, overshadowing her. Lui eyes show, that Takane staring at something really big and terrifying. Then her animal survive instinct kick in, as if she facing a predator that awaken from slumber and decided, that its a feeding time.

Lately, in the office of they secret Holo-X office...

La-plus, [Laplus Dia Highest Death Thirteen Daina Art of Impact Sign Emperor Road of the Darknesss], (a mini boss of they organization, actually a big laplace demon lord boss on a brat debuff), was staring at dinner table that was not there yesterday. Actually her gaze was focused on the giant bite mark on whole side of the dinner table. Its was as if someone had an encounter with big dinosaurs like T-rex, or some artist was making an avant-garde art. "Okay, what happened?"

Iroha Kazama, (a samurai from mountain on her mission to know the world, a bodyguard specialist in organization), stand next to the small girl. "I don't know much, but Lui show herself unexpectedly, tightly holding it as if her life depend on it. She was really out of breath. No, I dare to say, she look out of character so much, that I though she must fight for her life and barely get out. Anyway she went upstairs to take a rest. No wait!-- Few days ago, she did mention something about going onto shareholders' meeting. I dare to say, that they really tried to eat something. Scary."

La-plus glanced at Iroha, with expression as if the other girl trying to pull a prank on her, or she actually serious. After a while she take the situation into her hands? "Anyway, with executive out of commission, this means that making dinner for the group is on us. Pick up an apron, we going to kitchen!"

But Kazama, stand her ground. "And I stopping you right here, because I calling for a pizza. Before you ask, I dare to say, that we shall still have in memory the last cooking incident."

Yet the short girl dint seem to be worried about that. "I want to make a porridge for executive, for her to get better! Its just a rice and soup, whats so hard about it?!

"Say that first! I though we will face an another crisis. And as I saw her, I dare to say, that I don't think Lui will be hungry for a while. Just wait until she get out."

With a worried expression those two agreed to wait.

[Cute shrine maiden Chloe]

Team Holo-X gather together for having a colab stream. La-plus, Lui Takane, Iroha Kazama, Koyori Hakui (a foxy sketchy coyote scientist, in charge of research and development in company) and of course Chloe Sakamata. Yet as those four wearing they usual costumes, the fifth member Sakamata, is in Miko dress. (A Shinto priestess attire, or uniform for a shrine girl, who helping at the shrine.)

But from beginning, there is this lack of enthusiasm on the four girls. As they make a shallow introduction, theyclearly tossing the baton hastily toward the former gothic girl, causing her to forget to make her introduction. Sakamata is confused and thought they have a tummy ache.

That triggered semi-angry reaction on mini boss La-plus. "Yes, but the reason of our upset is elsewhere. Do you want to explain yourself? Who do you think you are?!"

Chloe got confused by that barking, and for second she think, its because she dint make her introduction. So she decide to bake one on spot, clearly going for certain trope, a meme reference. She make this cool-guy pose, with a (You have my attention, now.) gesture: "Haven't you heard? I am Sakamata." She was so calm, and balanced, that she was cool to the point, that the quartet was unable to react.

(Someone can imagine a handsome student, perfect guy, who never lose his cool swaga/style, even if someone trying get him; speaking this line every time someone asked him that question. He stop doing what he was doing, like reading book, correct his eye-glasses and glace at who asking him. "Haven't you heard? I am Sakamoto.")

On other hand, her chat over-reacted and starting do dying whit a lot of rip stones, flowing in the chat-flow river. Sakamata panicked and cry calledCalliope for help, because she is a soul reaper and working whit death.

The cry call was more like a figurative speech a speaker's turn, but to the shocking surprise of the entire team, the reaper on hiatus actually show up. Calliope Mori, (a cool yet serious rapper, whit a helping daddy like personality, yet with a short angry fuse), a tall pink haired woman stand up next to them. She ignored the bark from La-plus about how the heck she found them or how she past all the securities to get in, and this woman asked what happened.

So Sakamata repeated, what she do just now and how chat died, but there was a silence from the tall woman...

Mori actually noticed the pause. "Oh sorry, I was busy collecting the lost souls…" And she rise up a soul container cage, filled with a lot of small gloving orbs of (some?) colors.

Baby crying Orca tried to jump after it. "Yada! [Noo!] Those are mine!"

But this was not the first game for the reaper and successfully keep that cage in her possession. She even got amused by that desperate attempt. "LOL! Not anymore!" And she used a colorful metaphor for a punch line. Because Sakamata was pathetically crying on her knees, Mori got into a mod where she was laughing maniacally, like a villainies who not just wining bud dominating above the hero. Jet after a moment, the pink one tried to forcefully calm herself, because the other four girls were silently observing. "On the other hand, what are you wearing, Chloe?"

Takane throw toward Mori a thumb up gesture for a nice save of the situation.

Sakamata tried to calm down, but still was sulking. "It was a bitching…" The rest with full open eyes, dint get that reference so she tried to spoke more, tipping the ends of her pointing fingers together. "I~i-- made a big ups-i." This was the moment when Takane spoke up, that she is not angry at the incident with the bite-out table. But Chloe shakes her head in denial. "That one was from the small ups-ies I made."

At this point Lui rise her hand in gesture, that she taking out her hands from this case.

This open the opportunity for the former gothic girl to continue. She was not sulking anymore, but was not eager to tell them her story. "Well, I get a little bit virtuous… No!, I got really wild. Like not a bad girl wild, but a wild beast wild."

She got yelled at what she had done, but Takane expression was that you don't want to know.

Restoring her posture, Sakamata share her tale. "When I wake up… No!, when I calm down, I was on Shinto shrine." As she got a question for what she went into the shrine, she had to correct them. "No, I was at top of the shrine. Newer mind that. I was dragged into a weechat, a small talk, with head miko/priestess. We even talk about my upsies and such. So I beg her for an advice and she tell something about a redemption of nun. I dint understand most of what she said, but then she make a comparison to miko and shrine, saying I shall visit it. So went there, spoke to other mikos and now I par-timing there as a shire maiden. Doing good omens."

La-plus sighed and address her teammate. "Intern!... Sakamata, how to say it?… You failed once again. Do you remember what kind of organization we are?"

Takane placed her palm on leader shoulder. "Common, you can stay mad at her. She trying." Even the rest of females spoke up a positive notes and comments.

It seemed that a stone fell from Chloe heart as she cheer up. "Also, I told them about my struggle with chat, and they told me to wear my miko outfit at the stream. So I did it, and it working great. I gathering a lot of influencers on my chat."

As if it was a call a Koyori the scientist, make an observation. "Do anyone else loosing influencers? Or is just me?"

Girls from Holo-x team make a quick check and realize that they loosing subscribers to Sakamata.

So the mini boss yell. "Dammit Intern!! Stop stealing our subscribers!!"

Because the fresh miko barked (Why?!) or something similar Mori spoke up once again. "I really not the one to speak up, but… Have you ever consider to actually using that new status of yours to your team benefit? I mean, like:-- Imagine, that Chloe will walk with La-plus chanon street.And she will tell everybody, that the little cute demon is her boss."

Samurai, Hawk and little demon make those, (That can work) noises.

So it was again the coyote who drop the bomb. "Every police officer will stop you to ask annoying questions."

To this a clear clik of tongue comefrom mini boss, changing the pace. "Tcs. This will lead us nowhere.I think you make so much a mess that you need to take a pause. Sakamata, why do you try something else for a change?Like to go visit your home?"

Miko answered nearly on a repeat. "Okay." Everybody got shock from that fast response, that was positive if nothing. Even Mori, tried to come up with alternative, but Chloe stop them all. "Well, the head priestess mentioned something similar. As is important to make connection with you roots. Or it was to spread the roots? Something similar. But the road to home is long, so I will be gone for a while. And not so for while, but while-while." As she got asked what lead her to this radical decision, she glanced at distance. "I was thinking about it for a while now. I mean, my main objective was fulfilled." She make a theatrics pause, until she share it. "I eat,-- the shark."

Girls around got full shocked with (Oh no!) expression. Mori even hardly asked the obvious question. "You dint? It was not-- our shark? Don't tell me, that you…"

But the Orca smiled wildly. "It was Gura senpai."

As some girls drop they jaws, hawk risen her hand to have a word, and she was hesitant. "We-- we still talking about the tayakies with Gura senpai secret essence, that send to you. Right?"

As answer, Chloe pick up from corner of her attire a mysteriously looking vial with a (secret?) ingredient and smiled very proudly. "She fulfill her promise to me, and I shall report home, my great achievement. Beside with this in my hand, I am no more Intern."

Lui tried to offer to her roommate, that she will hold on that vial, for her. To make it safe. To protect it from the dangers of the journey.

Koyori noticed that stiffness in miss executive, so she figure out that something must be wrong with the substance in that vial and join the persuading. Offering that she can analyze it and if required by Chloe, she can synthesize more.

But Sakamata shake her head, refusing they offers, holding that vial dearly. "I shall share it my the tribe, so I can finally joining them at the great journey. They trust, that was put in me, was not in wain, as I will victoriously return home with the proof. I shall not sway in my determination, and pointlessly delay the long journey home."

She looked so determinated that none was capable to spoke her out of it.

[Farewell]

And so as the time progress, there is a deep water canal that passing through the (town). Its deep and wide enough like a river for a ship to be sailing in him. There is a pedestrian walkway on the side, and our gothic girl holding a traveling luggage, stand on the edge, staring into water. She turn around for one more time. In front of her there are her teammates and Calliope staying in line. So she smiled wildly. "Okay, I Sakamata Chloe, have only one thing left, to prove to you girls and own the moment." Without waiting for the question, she kick the ground, and jumped backward.

The rest of the farewell party was only manage to step closer to the edge to glance down, as the girl fall into the water, and disappear under it. Iroha and Koyori had a terrified expression as if observed they friend to do something quite stupid, as taking her own life, to vent on different kind of journey as they expected.

Then, something in the water reached the water surface. It was so big that a bump/lump formed at the water level. In next moment, it exploded. No, it break apart as something was shooting straight up.

The farewell party was staring: As a real scientific accurate orca, jump out of water. Make a flip on witch she release a water stream from top of its head. (Waved?) its side fin at them. Fall down onto canal and make a big splash. Then this water splash go so high, that it jump out of the canal, hit the girls and soaked them from top to bottom.

Now they were watching as the Orca was quickly leaving through the river stream.

Iroha as first in the line, pulled out her eyes in disbelief. "Its an orca!"

Kyori next to her had a tricky cat eyes expression. "You right, its an Orca!"

Lui as third in line seems to get into conclusion that she was not imagining thing. "Indeed, its an Orca!"

Yet La-plus dint share the same amusement as the trio. "Hey! Don't you dare to think, that I am just some lolly with unrealistic imagination and wild fantasies!"

At last, there was Calliope. "Girls, you dint see even half of the craziness that's is in plain sight." As she get a question why she dint escape being splashed out, she turn her gaze toward the sky. "Common, its her last upsie for us. Why not let her to have it." As she was smiling, even the other start to smile in they own way.

Then the camera focus take to the skies, foreshadowing the end of the story.

[Notes]

This work is a compilation of three. One was "Shark cookies for Chloe" that I had concept in my memories and even was put into my notebook of "To do list(s)". Second is "Hololive X and Cute shrine maiden" It come to mind a long ago, and only now I put it on a paper, ehm down on word editor. Idea come up on February 2023 where I write it into a file, and stay here in form of outline, points and lines. The last "A farewell" come onto mind in December 2024, when I heard about the announcement of Chloe leaving. So I decided to allocate a day to form the story, rewrite notes and put it together. I must admit, the clumsy orca was so funny concept, that shall not be forgotten.

What do you mean I having a dirty mind? (...) That vial? Whats wrong with food supplement? Its our Shark girl we talking about. Oh… Oh my… Damn, you having a dirty mind. Okay, listen… Imagine a tiny bottle of cinnamon essence for cooking. Now this will be pour onto jam jar. Then you put a shark scales or shark teeth into it. Close it. And let the magic work. After some time, you drains the content. Put the liquid it into vial. Place shark marking on it. Call it mysterious. And look!: a magic.

Of course we must have a build up where the origin of the substance will not be questioned. Right? Ri~ight?
