Hokage Teacher: With Dimensional Teacter System

Chapter 96: Chapter 98: The Thought of Taking a Student

When Kushina lifted the lid, something magical happened. As soon as the lid was removed, a red glow seemed to flash out.

But upon closer inspection, Kushina and Minato realized there wasn't actually any light; it was just that the dish's color was so vibrantly red.

Looking at the brilliant red Mapo Tofu, Kushina swallowed and said, "Mutsuki, you didn't mention you were adding this much spice. It looks super spicy!"

She had assumed Mutsuki would just add one more chili, but judging by the color of the dish, Kushina felt like the entire dish was built around spiciness.

"This dish is indeed a bit spicy, but it's not just spicy—it also has layers of flavor like aroma, heat, crispiness, and a numbing sensation," Mutsuki explained.

Intrigued by the mention of so many flavors, Minato was the first to pick up a spoon, scoop a portion, and put it into his mouth.

"Spicy!" Minato's first reaction upon eating the Mapo Tofu was that it was overwhelmingly spicy. It was an indescribable level of heat—what Mutsuki had called "a bit spicy" was, for Minato, intensely fiery.

The spiciness was so overwhelming that Minato momentarily felt as if he'd entered a world filled with flames, with fire erupting everywhere.

But the Mapo Tofu wasn't just spicy. Soon, an explosion of flavors filled Minato's mouth, immersing him in the dish's delicious complexity.

"Delicious!" Minato earnestly praised.

After that, he quickly scooped several more spoonfuls into his bowl and continued eating.

Seeing how eagerly Minato was eating, Kushina realized the dish must taste amazing, so she took a bite herself.

It was indeed spicy and numbing but also incredibly fragrant. To her surprise, she even tasted meat in it.

"It's really delicious!" Kushina exclaimed as she quickly scooped several spoonfuls of tofu into her bowl.

Despite the intense spiciness, the dish was so delicious that Kushina couldn't stop herself from eating more.

After the meal, the magical Mapo Tofu became the main topic of their post-dinner conversation.

When Mutsuki listed the ingredients used in the dish, Kushina raised a question:

"Mutsuki, are you sure you didn't forget one ingredient? Wasn't there meat in it?"

Kushina was certain she had tasted meat in the dish.

"There's no meat in the ingredients," Mutsuki confirmed.

"But I definitely tasted something that felt like meat," Kushina said, puzzled.

"I tasted it too," Minato agreed.

"It tastes like meat, but it's not meat—it's processed soy," Mutsuki explained, sharing the method behind it.

"That's incredible! Soy can actually be made to taste like this?" Kushina marveled.

Minato also felt that Mutsuki's culinary skills were unheard of and extraordinary. To think that soy could be made to taste like meat was astonishing.

Since he had to help his students with training, Mutsuki soon said goodbye to Minato and Kushina, promising to show them the cooking process another time.

In the southern forest, Mutsuki resumed his routine of training his disciples.

Shisui was practicing his Phoenix Flower Claw Red, Might Guy was working on building his physique and mastering the Shave technique, while Obito continued striving to grasp the basics of Shave.

As the training session neared its end, Obito asked Mutsuki,

"Mutsuki-sensei, how can I teach others ninjutsu?"

"Why are you asking this? Who do you want to teach?" Mutsuki asked in return.

"My good friend Nohara Rin. She's also participating in the summer training, in Group B," Obito said, explaining what had happened earlier that day.

"I feel like I explained things pretty clearly, but Rin still couldn't understand," Obito sighed.

Mutsuki was speechless. From Obito's description, it sounded like Obito's teaching level was comparable to Naruto's—teaching ninjutsu seemed to amount to just showing the technique and expecting the other person to figure it out.

Mutsuki did have professional knowledge on how to be a competent teacher, as that was his actual field of study.

However, based on Obito's current performance, Mutsuki felt it would be pointless to teach him those methods.

"You should focus on mastering ninjutsu yourself first," Mutsuki said, tapping Obito on the head with two fingers.

"Does this mean even the almighty Mutsuki-sensei has no solution this time?" Obito lowered his head, disappointed.

But soon, Obito came up with another idea. If he couldn't teach Rin and Mutsuki couldn't make him a better teacher, why not just ask Mutsuki to teach Rin directly?

"Mutsuki-sensei, Rin isn't doing well academically. I think she really needs your guidance," Obito suggested.

Hearing this, Mutsuki fell into thought.

Currently, the system allowed only four disciple slots, with just one remaining. Giving that spot to Rin was out of the question.

However, he could teach Rin as a "real-life" disciple without officially recognizing her within the system.

Mutsuki weighed the benefits of teaching Rin. One advantage was that it would motivate Obito to train harder, and another was the possibility of drawing Kakashi in as a disciple.

Kakashi had S-class potential and was already progressing rapidly, making him an excellent candidate.

"Alright, talk to Rin about it. If she's willing to learn from me, she can come over," Mutsuki said.

Hearing Mutsuki's agreement, Obito cheered excitedly.

He had only brought it up on a whim, as he knew he couldn't force Mutsuki to teach Rin.

"As expected, Mutsuki-sensei is truly omnipotent!" Obito said, brimming with excitement.

The thought of training alongside Rin filled Obito with boundless enthusiasm.

He couldn't wait to fast-forward to the next day and share the good news with Rin.

...

The next day, Ebisu arrived at the training ground as usual, ready for his special training.

"Why does it feel like everyone's looking at me?" Ebisu muttered, sensing the gazes directed his way.

Last time, he had drawn attention for topping the promotion list, but after yesterday's poor performance in Group A, there was no reason he should still be in the spotlight.

After all, it was only natural for a newcomer to struggle against seasoned Group A members.

"Ebisu, who would've thought a guy as proper as you would be playing it so bold behind the scenes," Genma Shiranui teased, punching Ebisu lightly in the chest.

They were both in Class 4-6 and had a good relationship.

Hearing Genma's words, Ebisu felt an ominous premonition despite not knowing what had happened.

"Let me try out that Confusing Enemy Technique at lunch. I want to challenge one of my weak points," Genma joked.

"Confusing Enemy Technique?" Ebisu began piecing things together, his heart sinking.

"Don't pretend with me. We're close enough that there's no need for that. Besides, it's all over the three groups now—there's no point hiding it," Genma said.

"It's just an adult-style ninjutsu you developed. Be bold and admit it."

"An adult-style ninjutsu… and the entire three groups know about it…" Realizing what had happened, Ebisu felt his vision go dark and nearly fainted.

"It really wasn't my invention! I only made a suggestion!" Ebisu lamented, feeling like his ninja school career was already bidding him farewell.

The next chapter will be slightly delayed.
