Hogwarts: The Unscientific Wizard (TL)

Chapter 596: Chapter 596: Isabel: Andy, are you under the Imperius Curse?

"Why are you back so soon?"

Isabel, who was reading a magazine in the living room, was surprised to see Andy coming up from the basement.

It had only been half an hour!

Andy used to work so hard; how come he is slacking off now?

"Andy, have you got big-headed?" Isabel looked at him with disappointment.

Andy: "?"

"Andy, you have to keep working hard!"

Isabel lectured him seriously, "Don't become complacent with just a little success. You-Know-Who is still causing trouble everywhere. You're not his match yet, so how come you're not working hard?"

Andy's face turned dark.

Do I need you to teach me?

Smack!

Andy patted the little girl on the head, speechless, and said, "At my current level, I can't improve just by practising hard... I'm going to go back to my room and read for a while; you go play by yourself!"

Sigh!

Andy let out a sigh after he finished speaking.

Why did I even bother explaining to this little girl?

"Then do your best!"

Isabel stood up on the sofa and patted Andy on the shoulder. "If you defeat the You-Know-Who, I can go out with my chin held high!"

Andy: "…"

"Okay, okay!"

Andy said helplessly, "For your sake, I will work hard and try to get rid of the You-Know-Who as soon as possible."

"That's the right attitude!" Isabel nodded with satisfaction. She had brought up her big brother well; he had lived up to her expectations.

Andy could no longer hold back any longer and gave the little girl a hard rub on the cheeks before heading upstairs to his room.

What kind of sister is she?

Back in his bedroom, Andy opened his suitcase and took out dozens of notebooks—all of them containing copies of the information from the Department of Mysteries' office.

Now that he had left Hogwarts, Andy could only study these.

He casually opened one...

Well, Andy simply had no interest in reading right now.

After forcing himself to read two pages, Andy finally lay down on the bed and began to rest his eyes.

He was a little worked up.

Andy simply had no interest in reading right now.

It was unlikely that he would be able to fall asleep tonight.

"Magic..."

Andy rested while quietly perceiving the magic within his body. Even though the result of each perception was the same, Andy just didn't want to stop.

Magic was so full of mystery.

It was also very fascinating.

This was the first time Andy had sensed the existence of magic so clearly. It was as if they existed within his own body, but also as if they didn't. They could be perceived but could never be felt.

At the moment, the magic was very active.

Andy 'watched' them, not wanting to miss a fleeting glimpse.

Once again, a question popped into his head.

Magic is so miraculous; where does it come from?

Some claim that magic is a wizard's innate talent.

To be honest, it's not that Andy thinks lowly of wizards, but the earth is just a speck in the universe, not to mention humans living on it.

In the universe, humans are so minuscule that they are barely visible!

But it is precisely such small human beings who possess such miraculous power.

Is this normal?

Magic... has now branched out into many high-end domains such as time, space, fate, concept, soul, killing, destruction, and changing the structure of matter.

Magic is almost omnipotent!

It is so almighty!

If one day someone tells Andy that wizards are just experimental subjects of higher-dimensional beings, Andy won't be surprised.

It's the same as humans creating the online world and then controlling and even changing it through code.

Spells give Andy the same feeling.

But what is magic?

As he pondered, Andy suddenly rolled over and took out a piece of parchment to start drafting a letter.

Dear Professor Dumbledore:

Hello!

Andy wrote down the questions he had faced, then double-checked the letter to make sure there were no mistakes. He then put the letter in an envelope, sealed it, and left the living room.

"Andy, what are you doing out here again?" Isabel exclaimed in bewilderment.

Andy used to work so hard!

When he was reading, he would forget to eat unless someone called him.

But now…

Andy had really become lazy!

"Andy, have you been dumped?" Isabel asked cautiously.

She felt that her brother was a little bit abnormal.

"What kind of nonsense going on in your mind?" Andy snapped.

"Could it be Imperius Curse!?"

The little girl gasped in alarm and shouted, "Mum, come out quickly; Andy might have been under the Imperius Curse!"

Andy: "..."

Helen hurriedly ran out of the potions room upon hearing this. She asked nervously, "Isa, did you notice something? Andy...what's wrong with him?"

"Mum!"

Isabel quickly hid behind Helen. The little girl pointed at Andy and said, "I noticed something's wrong with Andy!"

"He told me he wanted to practice magic, but then he came out of the basement in less than half an hour. He also said he wanted to go back to his room and read, but he came out of his room in less than half an hour as well."

"Andy used to work really hard!"

"But now... he is definitely not normal!"

Andy: "…"

He waved the letter in his hand and said with some weariness, "I encountered some problems and wrote to Dumbledore for advice... What exactly are you imagining?!"

What a drama!

Helen turned back, looking at Isabel with a dangerous gleam in her eyes.

The little girl pouted her lips and said guiltily, "I'm just worried about Andy! Andy, tell me, if I wasn't worried about you, would I have noticed these abnormalities?"

Andy raised an eyebrow and suggested, "Mum, children still need to be spanked from time to time. A good spanking might make them behave."

The little girl glared at Andy viciously on hearing this.

Helen rolled her eyes as well.

"I'm busy right now! Isa, if you're bored, come in and help."

Helen said impatiently. "Andy used to help me a lot when he was your age."

Isabel winced, and her eyes avoided Helen's.

"Are potion sales that high?" Andy asked curiously.

Helen sighed and explained, "You should see what's going on right now. Everyone is preparing some essential potions."

Andy's eyes narrowed at this.

Based on the potions you've been brewing... Are you preparing potions for the Death Eaters?

Is Snape out of a job?

After saying this, Helen took Isabel's hand and said, "Isa, you come and help too; don't keep bothering your brother."

"Andy, help me—"

Ignoring the little girl's pitiful cries, Andy shook his head and went outside to find an owl to send the letter.

Flutter, flutter, flutter—

As he watched the owl fly away, Andy wondered if he would get an answer.

"Maybe..."

Andy thought bitterly, "Maybe all I want is just some comfort."

When the owl flew out of sight, Andy silently withdrew his gaze, returned to his room, and lay down on his bed to sleep.

Although there wasn't much going on today, he was really tired!

It doesn't matter if he's being paranoid or scaring himself; some things are really terrifying when you think about them.

Andy now just hopes that when he finds out the truth, he will have enough strength to cope with it.
